Theoretical investigation of functionalized fullerene nano carrier drug delivery of fluoxetine

In recent years, fullerene nanoparticles have received extensive attention due to their unique physical and chemical properties. Properly modified fullerene nanoparticles have excellent biocompatibility and significant anti-tumor activity and anti-depression, which makes them have broad application prospects in the field of cancer anti-depression. The present study used the density functional theory (DFT) calculations to perform a theoretical examination of the interaction of fluoxetine (F) as medicine with the functionalized fullerene O and NO (F–O and F–NO surface in gas phase physiological media. According to DFT calculations, adsorption energies were ?3396.6350645, ?3540.2952907, ?6778.526894, and ?6952.251487 kJ for F/P complexes (fullerene O and NO (F–O and F–NO surface) respectively, proposing the possibility of the adsorption process of F molecule onto the fullerene surface concerning the energetic perspective. Calculations of electronic parameters aimed at determining the molecule's reactivity. Bandgap of F–O and F–NO were 0.03715, 0.04328 respectively, by this value we can recognize the reactivity of complexes.     

Effect of dispersion on nonlinear phase noise in optical transmission systems

An analytic expression for the variance of nonlinear phase noise that uses a first-order perturbation technique is obtained. The results show that for highly dispersive transmission systems, amplified spontaneous emission-induced phase noise due to self-phase modulation becomes much smaller than that for the systems with no dispersion.     

An Efficient N‐Arylation of Heterocycles with Aryl‐, Heteroaryl‐, and Vinylboronic Acids Catalyzed by Copper Fluorapatite

N‐Arylation of N‐containing heterocycles, such as pyrazoles, imidazoles, and benzimidazoles with aryl‐, heteroaryl‐, and vinylboronic acids was efficiently carried out by copper fluorapatite (CuFAP) catalyst in MeOH at room temperature under base‐free conditions. The N‐arylated heterocycles were isolated in good‐to‐excellent yields.     

AlCl3-induced (hetero)arylation of thienopyrimidine ring: a new synthesis of 4-substituted thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidines

AlCl₃ facilitated C-C bond forming reaction between 4-chloro-thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidines and (hetero)arenes affording a direct and single-step method for the synthesis of 4-(hetero)aryl substituted thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidines. A number of novel thienopyrimidines were prepared in good to excellent yields using this methodology. The molecular structure of a representative compound was established unambiguously by single crystal X-ray diffraction.     

Bilirubin protects grafts against nonspecific inflammation-induced injury in syngeneic intraportal islet transplantation

Nonspecific inflammatory response is the major cause for failure of islet grafts at the early phase of intraportal islet transplantation (IPIT). Bilirubin, a natural product of heme catabolism, has displayed anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory activities. The present study has demonstrated that bilirubin protected islet grafts by inhibiting nonspecific inflammatory response in a syngeneic rat model of IPIT. The inflammation-induced cell injury was mimicked by exposing cultured rat insulinoma INS-1 cells to cytokines (IL-1β, TNF-α and IFN-γ) in in vitro assays. At appropriate lower concentrations, bilirubin significantly attenuated the reduced cell viability and enhanced cell apoptosis induced by cytokines, and protected the insulin secretory function of INS-1 cells. Diabetic inbred male Lewis rats induced by streptozotocin underwent IPIT at different islet equivalents (IEQs) (optimal dose of 1000, and suboptimal doses of 750 or 500), and bilirubin was administered to the recipients every 12 h, starting from one day before transplantation until 5 days after transplantation. Administration of bilirubin improved glucose control and enhanced glucose tolerance in diabetic recipients, and reduced the serum levels of inflammatory mediators including IL-1β, TNF-α, soluble intercellular adhesion molecule 1, monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 and NO, and inhibited the infiltration of Kupffer cells into the islet grafts, and restored insulin-producing ability of transplanted islets.

The enantiospecific total synthesis of two epimers of the sesquiterpene isocalamusenone has been accomplished starting from the readily available monoterpene (R)-limonene, which of the natural product established the stereostructure and the absolute configuration.
