Plastic size effect analysis of lamellar composites using a discrete dislocation plasticity approach
Plastic size effect analysis of lamellar composites consisting of elastic and elastic-plastic layers is performed using a discrete dislocation plasticity approach, which is based on applying periodic homogenization to the superposition method for discrete dislocation plasticity. In this approach, the decomposition of displacements into macro and perturbed components circumvents the calculation of superposing displacement fields induced by dislocations in an infinitely homogeneous medium, resulting in two periodic boundary value problems specialized for the analysis of representative volume elements. The present approach is verified by analyzing a model lamellar composite that includes edge dislocations fixed at interfaces. The plastic size effects due to dislocation pile-ups at interfaces are also analyzed. The analysis shows that, strain hardening in elastic-plastic layers arises depending on two factors, namely the thickness and stiffness of elastic layers; and the gap between slip planes in adjacent elastic-plastic layers. In the case where the thickness of elastic layers is several dozen nm, strain hardening in elastic-plastic layers is restrained as the gap of the slip planes decreases. This particular effect is attributed to the long range stress due to pile-ups in adjacent elastic-plastic layers. 相似文献

We have developed a probe-system for simultaneous measurement of three velocity components and pressure in turbulent flows. A miniature total pressure probe is placed adjacent to the sensors of a triple hot-film probe in order to achieve the spatial resolution which is equivalent to that of the triple hot-film probe itself. The instantaneous static pressure is calculated from measured velocity and total pressure by means of a newly developed processing method based on the Bernoulli equation for unsteady flows. The measurements were undertaken in a turbulent wing-tip vortex flow. The look-up table method is employed for the calibration of the hot-film probe so accurate velocity data could be obtained over a wide range of the flow-attack angles. It is also demonstrated that the present probe-system is capable of measuring fluctuations in both velocity and pressure in the 20?C650 Hz frequency range. The distribution of the fluctuating pressure obtained by this indirect method is in good agreement with the results from direct measurements of static pressure, demonstrating the promising performance of the present method. Furthermore, an improvement in the ability to make measurements of the velocity?Cpressure correlation across the wing-tip vortex is achieved. This improvement is possible because the effects of lateral velocity components are properly taken into account in the present formulation. The investigation regarding the transport equation budget for turbulent kinetic energy shows an anomalous structure of turbulence in this flow, mainly due to the meandering of the vortex, and the measurement of pressure diffusion is found to play an important role in the characterization of this kind of flow. 相似文献

The preparation of various (R)-Sulfur-MOP ligands with aryl and alkyl substituents on sulfur, and the application of these ligands to Pd-catalyzed asymmetric allylic alkylation of indoles is reported. A fluorescence detection system for a microfluidic device using an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) as the excitation light source and a charge-coupled device (CCD) as the photo detector was developed. The OLED was fabricated on a glass plate by photolithography and a vacuum deposition technique. The OLED produced a green luminescence with a peak emission at 512 nm and a half bandwidth of 55 nm. The maximum external quantum efficiency of the OLED was 7.2%. The emission intensity of the OLED at 10 mA/cm(2) was 13 μW (1.7 mW/cm(2)). The fluorescence detection system consisted of the OLED device, two band-pass filters, a five microchannel poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) microfluidic device and a linear CCD. The fluorescence detection system was successfully used in a flow-based enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay on a PDMS microfluidic device for the rapid determination of immunoglobulin A (IgA), a marker for human stress. The detection limit (S/N=3) for IgA was 16.5 ng/mL, and the sensitivity was sufficient for evaluating stress. Compared with the conventional 96-well microtiter plate assay, the analysis time and the amounts of reagent and sample solutions could all be reduced. 相似文献

Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) prepared by citrate reduction of aurochloric acid (HAuCl4) were functionalized by tris(4‐sulfonatophenyl)porphinatoiron(III) (FeIIIP2) and poly(ethylene glycol) with thiolated arms (PEG‐SH). FeIIIP2 on the AuNP surface existed as its μ‐oxo dimer, which was reduced by Na2S2O4 to yield monomeric FeIIP2. FeIIP2‐bearing AuNPs were further functionalized through inclusion of two sulfonatophenyl groups of FeIIP2 by a per‐O‐methylated β‐cyclodextrin dimer with a pyridine linker (Py3CD) to obtain AuNPs capable of carrying diatomic molecules in the body. The resulting AuNPs (hemoCD‐AuNPs) bound O2 as well as CO in an aqueous solution. Although a noncolloidal 1:1 complex of 5,10,15,20‐tetrakis(4‐sulfonatophenyl)porphinatoiron(II) and Py3CD injected into the femoral vein of a rat was rapidly excreted in the urine, no excretion was observed with ferric hemoCD‐AuNPs, which were gradually accumulated in the spleen and liver of a rat. Human hematopoietic prostaglandin synthase, one of the better therapeutic target enzymes for allergy and inflammation, was crystallized with 22 inhibitors and in three inhibitor-free conditions in microgravity. We have constructed an extremely precise optical system for hard-x-ray nanofocusing in a synchrotron radiation beamline. Precision multilayer mirrors were fabricated, tested, and employed as Kirkpatrick-Baez mirrors with a novel phase error compensator. In the phase compensator, an at-wavelength wavefront error sensing method based on x-ray interferometry and an in situ phase compensator mirror, which adaptively deforms with nanometer precision, were developed to satisfy the Rayleigh criterion to achieve diffraction-limited focusing in a single-nanometer range. The performance of the optics was tested at BL29XUL of SPring-8 and was confirmed to realize a spot size of approximately 7 nm. 相似文献
