Naphthalene‐1‐sulfonic acid dimethylamides were treated with n‐BuLi and elemental sulfur or selenium to afford dinaphtho[1,2‐b:2′,1′‐d]thiophenes and selenophenes, respectively. This is the first example of making two C S/Se bonds and a C C bond in a single step at room temperature and also demonstrates a useful method for the synthesis of both thiophenes and selenophenes on naphthalene. In the case of the reactions of elemental selenium, diselenides were also obtained along with dinaphtho[1,2‐b:2′,1′‐d]selenophenes. The structure of dinaphtho[1,2‐b:′,1′‐d]thiophene was characterized by X‐ray crystallography as a representative molecule. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A convergent synthesis of the nonacyclic BCDEFGHIJ-ring polyether core of gambieric acids, potent antifungal polycyclic ether marine natural products, has been achieved. Anti-ribonucleoprotein (anti-RNP) antibodies are one of the representative autoantibodies detectable in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD). Generally, posttranslational modifications (PTMs) on autoantigens are proposed to be involved in the production of autoantibodies. In this study, we tried to detect the alteration in PTMs on a U1 small nuclear RNP 68k subunit (U1-68k), a major antigen of anti-RNP antibodies. Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were obtained from patients with MCTD, SLE, and rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and from healthy donors. U1-68ks in the PBMCs were detected by 2D Western blot (WB), where extracted nuclear proteins were separated by 2DE, followed by the detection of U1-68k using WB. More than 20 PTM isoforms were detected with different molecular weights of 65.0 , 66.5, and 68.0kDa, and different pIs between 6.0 and 8.5. Importantly, the relative intensity of the spot with 66.5 kDa and pI 7.5 was significantly increased in the MCTD and SLE groups compared to the RA and healthy groups. Further, this U1-68k isoform, in particular, in its RS domain, was found to have significantly decreased phosphorylation compared to the other isoforms. Assembly of submicron-sized microspheres has received much attention due to its high potential for wide variety of applications. We have developed a preparation method of polymer particles by simple mixing of a poor solvent into the polymer solution followed by evaporation of a good solvent. By using this technique, silica nanoparticles and polymer composite particles were prepared. In order to obtain information about postnatal changes in trace element levels in rat tissues, the age-dependent variations in the concentrations of 6 elements (Fe, Zn, Co, Se, Rb and Cs) were investigated by thermal neutron activation analysis. Several variation patterns were revealed in their concentrations as a function of postnatal age, depending on the combination of an element and an organ: (1) A steady state without significant variations (Zn and Se in brain, Rb and Cs in liver), (2) accumulation till a steady level is attained in time (Se in liver and kidney, Co in kidney), (3) depletion till a steady level is attained in time (Fe and Co in brain, Zn in liver and kidney, Rb and Cs in kidney), (4) permanent depletion (Rb and Cs in brain), and 95) initial drop followed by gradual increase in concentration levels (Fe in liver and kidney, Co in liver) 相似文献
