Electronic shell structure, which was first recognized in sodium clusters, has been observed in alkali and noble metals, as well as in divalent and trivalent metals. Shell structure with modifications is expected to be broadly applicable to most metals. Features in the cluster abundance spectra and in the experimental dipole polarizabilities and ionization potentials correlate well with predictions of electronic level filling in spherical and spheroidal potential wells. The lack of precise quantitative agreement between experiment and theory for the response properties indicates necessary refinements in the self-consistent uniform background jellium model for clusters. 相似文献

The effects of the administration of a single dose of the model nephrotoxin mercuric chloride (2.0 mg kg(-1), subcutaneous) to male Wistar-derived rats on the urinary metabolite profiles of a range of endogenous metabolites has been investigated using (1)H NMR and HPLC-MS. Urine samples were collected daily for 9 days from both dosed and control animals. Analysis of these samples revealed marked changes in the pattern of endogenous metabolites as a result of HgCl(2) toxicity. Peak disturbances in the urinary metabolite profiles were observed (using both NMR and HPLC-MS) at 3 days post dose. Thereafter the urinary metabolite profile gradually returned to a more normal composition. Markers of toxicity identified by (1)H NMR spectroscopy were raised concentrations of lactate, alanine, acetate, succinate, trimethylamine (TMA), and glucose. Reductions in the urinary excretion of citrate and alpha-ketoglutarate were also seen. Markers identified by HPLC-MS, in positive ion mode, were kynurenic acid, xanthurenic acid, pantothenic acid and 7-methylguanine which decreased after dosing. In addition an ion at m/z 188, probably 3-amino-2-naphthoic acid, was observed to increase after dosing. As well as these identified compounds other ions at m/z 297 and 267 decreased after dosing. In negative ion mode a range of sulfated compounds were observed, including phenol sulfate and benzene diol sulfate, which decreased after dosing. As well as the sulfated components an unidentified glucuronide at m/z 326 was also observed to decrease after dosing. The results of this study demonstrate the complementary nature of the NMR and MS-based techniques for metabonomic analysis. 相似文献

Spectroscopy and predissociation dynamics of (H2O)2 and Ar-H2O are investigated with vibrationally mediated dissociation (VMD) techniques, wherein upsilon(OH) = 2 overtones of the complexes are selectively prepared with direct infrared pumping, followed by 193 nm photolysis of the excited H2O molecules. As a function of relative laser timing, the photolysis breaks H2O into OH and H fragments either (i) directly inside the complex or (ii) after the complex undergoes vibrational predissociation, with the nascent quantum state distribution of the OH photofragment probed via laser-induced fluorescence. This capability provides the first rotationally resolved spectroscopic analysis of (H2O)2 in the first overtone region and vibrational predissociation dynamics of water dimer and Ar-water clusters. The sensitivity of the VMD approach permits several upsilon(OH) = 2 overtone bands to be observed, the spectroscopic assignment of which is discussed in the context of recent anharmonic theoretical calculations. 相似文献

Reactivities of the structural isomers CCN+ and CNC+ were examined in a selected-ion flow tube at 300 +/- 5 K. The less reactive CNC+ isomer was identified as the product of the reactions of C(+) + HCN and C(+) + C2N2; in these reactions only CNC+ can be produced because of energy constraints. Rate coefficients and branching ratios are reported for the reactions of each isomer with H2, CH4, NH3, H2O, C2H2, HCN, N2, O2, N2O, and CO2. Ab initio calculations are presented for CCN+ and CNC+; a saddle point for the reaction CCN+ --> CNC+ is calculated to be 195 kJ mol-1 above the CNC+. The results provide evidence that the more reactive CCN+ isomer is unlikely to be present in measurable densities in interstellar clouds. 相似文献

A preparative purification of myristyl-Gly-Asn-Ile-Phe-Ala-Asn-Leu-Phe-Lys-Gly-Leu-Phe-Gly-Lys-Lys-Glu -NH2 was accomplished using the multi-coil counter-current chromatograph. A partition coefficient was determined in the n-butanol-acetic acid-water (4:1:5) system. Chromatographic runs were made in this system and one modified with ethyl acetate. The peptide material showed anomalous elution behavior due to its surfactant properties. It was found that by loading the sample exclusively in the stationary phase, satisfactory retention of the compound occurred. Finally, conditions utilizing the upper phase as the mobile phase successfully separated the impurities. 相似文献

Collocation type methods are studied for the numerical solutionof the weakly singular Volterra integral equation of the secondkind:
where the solution (t) is assumedto have the form f(t) = x(t)+r?(t), x and being sufficientlysmooth. The solution is approximated near zero by a linear combinationof powers of t?, and away from zero by the usual polynomialrepresentation. Convergence is proved and many numerical experimentsare carried out with examples from the literature. A comparisonis made with a method of Brunner & Norsett (1981), originallydeveloped for (1) with a smooth solution. In recent work, it was reported that changes in solvent composition, precisely the addition of water, significantly inhibits the catalytic activity of Au/TiO2 catalyst in the aerobic oxidation of 1,4‐butanediol in methanol due to changes in diffusion and adsorption properties of the reactant. In order to understand whether the inhibition mechanism of water on diol oxidation in methanol is generally valid, the solvent effect on the aerobic catalytic oxidation of 1,3‐propanediol and its two methyl‐substituted homologues, 2‐methyl‐1,3‐propanediol and 2,2‐dimethyl‐1,3‐propanediol, over a Au/TiO2 catalyst has been studied here using conventional catalytic reaction monitoring in combination with pulsed‐field gradient nuclear magnetic resonance (PFG‐NMR) diffusion and NMR relaxation time measurements. Diol conversion is significantly lower when water is present in the initial diol/methanol mixture. A reactivity trend within the group of diols was also observed. Combined NMR diffusion and relaxation time measurements suggest that molecular diffusion and, in particular, the relative strength of diol adsorption, are important factors in determining the conversion. These results highlight NMR diffusion and relaxation techniques as novel, non‐invasive characterisation tools for catalytic materials, which complement conventional reaction data. 相似文献
