Cogeneration plants have a long tradition in Germany and are used to transfrom a given energy into various destination energies, e.g. natural gas into mechanical, electrical and heat energy. In this paper a cogeneration plant composed of several components like gas turbines, waste heat boilers, steam turbines, etc, is modelled in steady state. The thermo-dynamic behaviour of the plant is determined by a set of measured data, which is used to adopt the mathematical model to the real plant. By defining a suitable objective function incorporating e.g. emission trading, an appropriate NLP-solver can be used to solve the generated model which includes several nonlinear constraints. Solutions for different environmental and business conditions are presented, to demonstrate the enormous potential of the proposed method for energy suppliers. (© 2005 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Bi-level optimal control problems are presented as an extension to classical optimal control problems. Hereby, additional constraints for the primary problem are considered, which depend on the optimal solution of a secondary optimal control problem. A demanding problem is the numerical complexity, since at any point in time the solution of the optimal control problem as well as a complete solution of the secondary problem have to be determined. Hence we deal with two dependent variables in time. The numerical solution of the bi-level problem is illustrated by an application of a container crane. Jerk and energy optimal trajectories with free final time are calculated under the terminal condition that the crane system comes to be at rest at a predefined location. In enlargement additional constraints are investigated to ensure that the crane system can be brought to a rest position by a safety stop at a free but admissible location in minimal time from any state of the trajectory. The growing interest in synthetic peptides has prompted the development of viable methods for their sustainable production. Currently, large amounts of toxic solvents are required for peptide assembly from protected building blocks, and switching to water as a reaction medium remains a major hurdle in peptide chemistry. We report an aqueous solid‐phase peptide synthesis strategy that is based on a water‐compatible 2,7‐disulfo‐9‐fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl (Smoc) protecting group. This approach enables peptide assembly under aqueous conditions, real‐time monitoring of building block coupling, and efficient postsynthetic purification. The procedure for the synthesis of all natural and several non‐natural Smoc‐protected amino acids is described, as well as the assembly of 22 peptide sequences and the fundamental issues of SPPS, including the protecting group strategy, coupling and cleavage efficiency, stability under aqueous conditions, and crucial side reactions.  相似文献

Tumor-targeted drug delivery is highly important for improving chemotherapy, as it reduces the dose of cytotoxic agents and minimizes the death of healthy tissues. Towards this goal, a conjugate was synthesized of gossypol and a MCF-7 cancer cell specific CPP (cell penetrating peptide), thus providing a selective drug delivery system. Utilizing the aldehyde moiety of gossypol, the tumor homing CPP RLYMRYYSPTTRRYG was attached through a semi-labile imine linker, which was cleaved in a traceless fashion under aqueous conditions and had a half-life of approximately 10 hours. The conjugate killed MCF-7 cells to a significantly greater extent than HeLa cells or healthy fibroblasts.  相似文献

The detection of diesel fuel and different solvent vapours in air is described. Due to the very low vapour pressure of diesel fuel, highly mass sensitive quartz microbalance (QMB) and surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensors are used. Micro porous coatings are presented consisting of liquid crystals and buckminster fullerenes. Thereby the globular compound disturbs the structure of the rod-like component and cavities and channels are created. With these mixtures it is possible to attain a resolution of 0.5% of the vapour pressure of diesel in air with the QMB; an even fivefold increase of sensitivity can be obtained with highly sensitive SAW devices operating at 433 MHz. In the latter case alkylsilane monolayers are used to promote adhesion, which themselves show a similar sensitivity as the QMB, but with an instantaneous response. High brightness tapered laser diodes with different resonator geometries were fabricated and analysed. The devices consist of an index-guided straight section and a gain-guided tapered section. Lasers with a total length L = 2 and 4 mm and different length of the ridge waveguide L RW (500 μm ≤ L RW ≤ 1250 μm for L = 2 mm and 500 μm ≤ L RW ≤ 2000 μm for L = 4 mm) were processed to study the influence of the straight section on the spatial mode filtering. The power–voltage–current-characteristics, the beam waist, the far field, and the beam propagation factor M 2 were measured. From the experiments, it can be stated that the lasers with a small L RW reach higher output powers compared to those with larger L RW. Concerning the beam quality the length L RW should exceed a minimal value to guarantee efficient spatial mode filtering. Devices optimised concerning maximum output power and excellent beam quality reach a beam propagation factor smaller than 2.1 at an output power P = 2 W.  相似文献

The Transuranium Processing Plant (TPP) at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) has been requested by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to furnish 200 mg of252Cf for use in their new activation analysis facility. This paper discusses the procedure to be employed in fabricating the californium into four neutron sources, each containing a nominal 50-mg of252Cf. The completed neutron sources will be assayed using a precision fast-neutron counter, decontaminated and loaded into a concreete-shielded shipping container weighing 10.7 Mg for shipment to the FDA facility located at Howard University in Washington, D.
