An analysis was made to investigate non-Darcian fully developed flow and heat transfer in a porous channel bounded by two parallel walls subjected to uniform heat flux. The Brinkmanextended Darcy model was employed to study the effect of the boundary viscous frictional drag on hydrodynamic and heat transfer characteristics. An exact expression has been derived for the Nusselt number under the uniform wall heat flux condition. Approximate results were also obtained by exploiting a momentum integral relation and an auxiliary relation implicit in the Brinkmanextended Darcy model. Excellent agreement was confirmed between the approximate and exact solutions even in details of velocity and temperature profiles. 相似文献

A theoretical analysis has been proposed for the forced convection heat transfer from external surfaces immersed in non-Newtonian fluids of the power-law model. The integral treatment previously introduced for Newtonian fluids has been successfully extended to the non-Newtonian fluids over a flat plate and a wedge of an arbitrary included angle. The integral momentum and energy equations are transformed into a pair of characteristic equations, which can readily be solved for the velocity shape factor and the boundary layer thickness ratio, once the exponents in the expressions for the power-law model, free stream velocity and wall temperature variation are specified. It has been also found that an asymptotic expression derived under the assumption of large Prandtl number, is valid practically for all power-law fluids, and hence, can be used for a speedy, and yet accurate estimation of the local heat transfer to non-Newtonian fluids. 相似文献

A new compound having a 2,3,4,5-tetraphenylsilole derivative on the center silicon of Dumbbell(1)6Gb3; Silole-Dumbbell(1)6Gb3 (1) was previously reported. It was found that 1 exhibited strongly increased fluorescence both in water and in a 96% acetone/water mixed solvent. The physical behavior of 1 in water and in the 96% acetone/water mixed solvent was investigated, and analyses including fluorescence quantum yields, dynamic-light-scattering (DLS), atomic-force-microscopy (AFM), and fluorescence microscopy were carried out. It was clarified that 1 dynamically formed different types of aggregates in water and in higher acetone concentrations to yield high aggregation-induced emission (AIE) effects due to the formation of micelle-like particles in water and inversion-type micelles in the acetone/water mixed solvent, respectively. 相似文献

In this Letter, we investigate the environmental dependence of dark matter halos in theories which attempt to explain the accelerated expansion of the Universe by modifying general relativity (GR). Using high-resolution N-body simulations in f(R) gravity models which recover GR in dense environments by virtue of the chameleon mechanism, we find a significant difference, which depends on the environment, between the lensing and dynamical masses of dark matter halos. This environmental dependence of the halo properties can be used as a smoking gun to test GR observationally. 相似文献

We construct a theory of dynamical behavior in intrinsic Josephson junction stacks with multigap superconducting layers. The theory predicts the existence of two kinds of phase modes, one of which is the Josephson-plasma mode and other of which is the Leggett’s mode. Dissolution process of GaSb into InSb melt was observed by an X-ray penetration method. The intensity of X-rays penetrated through the rectangular shaped GaSb (seed)/InSb/GaSb (feed) sandwich sample was recorded by the CdTe line sensor detector. The penetrated X-ray intensities and images of the sample were obtained as a function of time and temperature. The gallium (Ga) composition profile of the sample was calculated as a function of time by making the calibration line with the penetrated X-ray intensities of GaSb and InSb standard samples. The calculated Ga composition profile of the grown sample agreed well with the data measured by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy analysis. The result suggested that lower GaSb seed dissolved faster than upper GaSb feed despite of the low temperature at the lower GaSb seed. It clearly indicates that the solutal transport induced by gravity strongly affects the dissolution process. 相似文献

Syntheses of 2,2′‐bisalcoholic group‐substituted 9,9′‐spirobifluorene monomers 2 were performed by the reaction of 2,2′‐dihydroxy‐9,9′‐spirobifluorene 2a with haloalcohols. Polycarbonates consisting of 9,9′‐spirobifluorene skeleton in the main chain (PC 4 ) were synthesized by the polycondensation of 2,2′‐bisalcoholic monomers 2 and triphosgene or diphenyl carbonate. PC 4 showed good thermal stability: the 5% weight loss temperature was over 330 °C under both nitrogen and air atmospheres. The glass transition temperature was in a range of 16–269 °C estimated by differential scanning calorimetry, depending on the flexibility of the alkylene or oxyethylene chains of 2 . PC 4 showed high solubility toward ordinary organic solvents such as CHCl3, benzene, and THF, making possible the preparation of the flexible thin films. Very high refractive index in a range of 1.62–1.66 at 589 nm was observed although PC 4 consists only of C, H, and O atoms, whereas very low degree of birefringence was confirmed. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
