From measurements of the 11B NMR in CrB2 the transferred hyperfine field due to the neighboring magnetic moments of Cr and the temperature dependence of T1 have been investigated. Applications of microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) technology are widespread in both industrial and research fields providing miniaturized smart tools. In this review, we focus on MEMS applications aiming at manipulations and characterization of biomaterials at the single molecule level. Four topics are discussed in detail to show the advantages and impact of MEMS tools for biomolecular manipulations. They include the microthermodevice for rapid temperature alternation in real-time microscopic observation, a microchannel with microelectrodes for isolating and immobilizing a DNA molecule, and microtweezers to manipulate a bundle of DNA molecules directly for analyzing its conductivity. The feasibilities of each device have been shown by conducting specific biological experiments. Therefore, the development of MEMS devices for single molecule analysis holds promise to overcome the disadvantages of the conventional technique for biological experiments and acts as a powerful strategy in molecular biology. The analytical method of determining enzyme activity by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC/MS) was developed and applied for investigation of the effect of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) on the enzyme activity of chitinase. The measurement of chitinase activity by LC/MS is useful in order to use the nonderivatized substrate, which can show in vivo chitinase activity. Substrate consumption and product formation were monitored in order to determine chitinase activity. It was shown that, for the first time, in vitro addition of PAHs inhibited the activity of chitinase in a noncompetitive manner. The IC50 value of benzo[a]pyrene was 1.4 μM, and PAHs containing four or more aromatic rings showed the same or higher inhibitory effect, whereas PAHs with a lower number of aromatic rings showed lower inhibition of the chitinase activity than benzo[a]pyrene.  相似文献

Ionic conductivity of La4/3 ? y Li3yTi2O6 (LLTO), where y value is 0.21, dispersed by various amount of strontium titanate (SrTiO3) was measured by complex impedance method, and powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements and scanning electron microscope (SEM) observations were carried out. With increasing SrTiO3 concentration, the conductivity decreased. At 34 mol%, the Bragg peaks at 11, 26 and 35° in LLTO disappeared in XRD patterns and small non-angulated crystals were shown in SEM. The behavior of ionic conductivity was discussed by using the effective medium approximation (EMA) theory.  相似文献

Sitafloxacin (STFX) hydrate is a non-stoichiometric hydrate. The hydration state of STFX hydrate varies non-stoichiometrically depending on the relative humidity and temperature, though X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD) of STFX hydrate was not affected by storing at low and high relative humidities. The detailed properties of crystalline water of STFX hydrate were estimated in terms of hygroscopicity, thermal analysis combined with X-ray powder diffractometry, crystallography and density functional theory (DFT) calculation. STFX hydrate changed the water contents continuously and reversibly from an equivalent amount of dihydrate through that of sesquihydrate depending on the relative humidity at 25°C. Thermal analysis and X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD) simultaneous measurement also revealed that STFX hydrate dehydrated into a hydrated state equivalent to monohydrate by heating up to 100°C, whereas XRPD patterns were slightly affected. This indicated that the crystal structure of STFX hydrate was retained at the dehydration level of monohydrate. Single-crystal X-ray structural analysis showed that two STFX molecules and four water molecule sites were contained in an asymmetric unit. STFX molecules formed a channel structure where water molecules were included. At the partially dehydrated state, at least two of four water molecules were considered to be disordered in occupancy and/or coordinates. Insight into the crystal structure of STFX hydrate stored at low and high relative humidities and geometry of the hydrogen bond were helpful to estimate the origin of non-stoichiometric hydration of STFX hydrate.  相似文献

Cu nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra of impurities (Zn, Ni, and La)-doped spin-1/2 Heisenberg ladder compounds SrCu2O3 (Sr123) are broadened with Curie-like temperature (T) dependence. The spectra have been successfully fit by using a quasi-one-dimensional (Q1D) staggered polarization (SP) model. Such a SP has also revealed in Cu NMR measurements of Sr14–x Ca x Cu24O41 (Cax) with hole-doped ladders. The origin of possible 3D antiferromagnetic (AF) long-range ordering in (Zn and Ni)-doped Sr123 and Cax around x=12 at low T is considered to be similar. Once unpaired spins S 0's are induced and 3D interlayer interaction occurs, the localized spins couple in the whole system.  相似文献

Cuminum cyminum L. (cumin) is an annual plant of the Umbelliferae family native to Egypt. We previously showed that the aqueous extract of cumin seeds suppresses degranulation by downregulating the activation of antigen-induced intracellular signaling molecules in rat basophilic leukemia RBL-2H3 cells. However, the active substances in the extract have not yet been identified. Accordingly, herein, we aimed to ascertain the water-soluble substances present in cumin seeds that inhibit degranulation, which led to the identification of umbelliferose, a characteristic trisaccharide present in plants of the Umbelliferae family. Our study is the first to reveal the degranulation-suppressing activity of umbelliferose, and quantification studies suggest that cumin seed powder contains 1.6% umbelliferose. Raffinose, an isomer of umbelliferose, was also found to significantly suppress antigen-induced degranulation, but less so than umbelliferose. Both umbelliferose and raffinose contain sucrose subunits in their structures, with galactose moieties bound at different sites. These differences in structure suggest that the binding of galactose to the sucrose subunit at the α1-2 bond contributes to its strong degranulation-inhibiting properties.  相似文献
