Headphone simulation of free-field listening. II: Psychophysical validation   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4  
Listeners reported the apparent spatial positions of wideband noise bursts that were presented either by loudspeakers in free field or by headphones. The headphone stimuli were digitally processed with the aim of duplicating, at a listener's eardrums, the waveforms that were produced by the free-field stimuli. The processing algorithms were based on each subject's free-field-to-eardrum transfer functions that had been measured at 144 free-field source locations. The headphone stimuli were localized by eight subjects in virtually the same positions as the corresponding free-field stimuli. However, with headphone stimuli, there were more front-back confusions, and source elevation seemed slightly less well defined. One subject's difficulty with elevation judgments, which was observed both with free-field and with headphone stimuli, was traced to distorted features of the free-field-to-eardrum transfer function.  相似文献

The theory of nuclear matter is investigated by means of the method of unitary transformations in the special case of point transformations. The general formula for the energy per particle as a function of the density is given in Hartree-Fock approximation being neglected the induced three and more body forces for reasonable correlation functions. This function always shows saturation due to a term proportional tok F 5 in the direct part of the approximation. The physical connexion of this term with the scattering amplitudes of the potential is shown. We point out the equivalence to orderk F 3 of the energy per particle function of the unitary method with Jastrow and separation methods in their simplest form. The saturation properties are calculated for certain classes of correlations using the realistic potential of Gammel, Christian and Thaler.  相似文献

This paper develops a valuation model of European options incorporatinga stochastic default barrier, which extends a constant defaultbarrier proposed in the Hull–White model. The defaultbarrier is considered as an option writer's liability. Closed-formsolutions of vulnerable European option values based on themodel are derived to study the impact of the stochastic defaultbarriers on option values. The numerical results show that negativecorrelation between the firm values and the stochastic defaultbarriers of option writers gives material reductions in optionvalues where the options are written by firms with leverageratios corresponding to BBB or BB ratings.  相似文献

The photophysically important potential energy surfaces of the fluorescent pyrimidine analog 5-methyl-2-pyrimidinone have been explored using multireference configuration-interaction ab initio methods at three levels of dynamical correlation, all of which support a fluorescence mechanism. At vertical excitation S1 (dark, n(N)pi*) and S2 (bright, pipi*) are almost degenerate at 4.4 eV, with S3 (dark, n(O)pi*) at 5.1 eV. The excited system can follow the S1-S2 seam of conical intersections, accessible from the Franck-Condon region, to its minimum and then evolve from this conical intersection on the S1 (pipi*) surface to a global minimum. At lower levels of correlation, the S1 surface shows two minima separated by a barrier of up to 0.18 eV. The secondary minimum found at the lower levels of correlation becomes the global minimum with higher correlation. The S1 population at this minimum can be trapped from accessing the lowest energy S0-S1 (pipi*/gs) conical intersection by an energy gap at least 0.3-0.4 eV higher than the S1 minimum. The calculated emission energy from this minimum is 2.80 eV. Gradient pathways connecting important S1 geometries are presented, as well as other excited state conical intersections.  相似文献

The ultrafast radiationless decay mechanism of photoexcited cytosine has been theoretically supported by exploring the important potential energy surfaces using multireference configuration-interaction ab initio methods for the gas-phase keto-tautomer free base. At vertical excitation, the bright state is S1 (pipi*) at 5.14 eV, with S2 (nNpi*) and S3 (nOpi*) being dark states at 5.29 and 5.93 eV, respectively. Minimum energy paths connect the Franck-Condon region to a shallow minimum on the pipi* surface at 4.31 eV. Two different energetically accessible conical intersections with the ground state surface are shown to be connected to this minimum. One pathway involves N3 distorting out of plane in a sofa conformation, and the other pathway involves a dihedral twist about the C5-C6 bond. Each of these pathways from the minimum contains a low barrier of 0.14 eV, easily accessed by low vibronic levels. The path involving the N3 sofa distortion leads to a conical intersection with the ground state at 4.27 eV. The other pathway leads to an intersection with the ground state at 3.98 eV, lower than the minimum by about 0.3 eV. Comparisons with our previously reported study of the fluorescent cytosine analogue 5-methyl-2-pyrimidinone (5M2P) reveal remarkably similar conformational distortions throughout the decay pathways of both bases. The different photophysical behavior between the two molecules is attributed to energetic differences. Vertical excitation in cytosine occurs at a much higher energy initially, creating more vibrational energy than 5M2P in the Franck-Condon region, and the minimum S1 energy for 5M2P is too low to access an intersection with the ground state, causing population trapping and fluorescence. Calculations of vertical excitation energies of 5-amino-2-pyrimidinone and 2-pyrimidinone reveal that the higher excitation energy of cytosine is likely due to the presence of the amino group at the 4-position.  相似文献

A complete, continuous transition from discrete macroions to blackberry structures, and then back to discrete macroions, is reported for the first time in the system of {Mo132}/water/acetone, with {Mo132} (full formula (NH4)42[Mo132O372(CH3COO)30(H2O)72].ca.300H2O.ca.10CH3COONH4) as the C60-like anionic polyoxomolybdate molecular clusters. Laser light scattering studies reveal the presence of the self-assembled {Mo132} blackberry structures in water/acetone mixed solvents containing 3 vol % to 70 vol % acetone, with the average hydrodynamic radius (Rh) of blackberries ranging from 45 to 100 nm with increasing acetone content. Only discrete {Mo132} clusters are found in solutions containing <3 vol % and >70 vol % acetone. The complete discrete macroion (cluster)-blackberry-discrete macroion transition helps to identify the driving forces behind the blackberry formation, a new type of self-assembly process. The charge density on the macroions is found to greatly affect the blackberry formation and dissociation, as the counterion association is very dominant around blackberries. The transitions between single {Mo132} clusters and blackberries, and between the blackberries with different sizes, are achieved by only changing the solvent quality.  相似文献

We present a general method for tracking molecular relaxation along different pathways from an excited state down to the ground state. We follow the excited state dynamics of cytosine pumped near the S(0)-S(1) resonance using ultrafast laser pulses in the deep ultraviolet and probed with strong field near infrared pulses which ionize and dissociate the molecules. The fragment ions are detected via time of flight mass spectroscopy as a function of pump probe delay and probe pulse intensity. Our measurements reveal that different molecular fragments show different timescales, indicating that there are multiple relaxation pathways down to the ground state. We interpret our measurements with the help of ab initio electronic structure calculations of both the neutral molecule and the molecular cation for different conformations en route to relaxation back down to the ground state. Our measurements and calculations show passage through two seams of conical intersections between ground and excited states and demonstrate the ability of dissociative ionization pump probe measurements in conjunction with ab initio electronic structure calculations to track molecular relaxation through multiple pathways.  相似文献

A multimodular donor–acceptor tetrad featuring a bis(zinc porphyrin)–(zinc phthalocyanine) ((ZnP–ZnP)–ZnPc) triad and bis‐pyridine‐functionalized fullerene was assembled by a “two‐point” binding strategy, and investigated as a charge‐separating photosynthetic antenna‐reaction center mimic. The spectral and computational studies suggested that the mode of binding of the bis‐pyridine‐functionalized fullerene involves either one of the zinc porphyrin and zinc phthalocyanine (Pc) entities of the triad or both zinc porphyrin entities leaving ZnPc unbound. The binding constant evaluated by constructing a Benesi–Hildebrand plot by using the optical data was found to be 1.17×105 M ?1, whereas a plot of “mole‐ratio” method revealed a 1:1 stoichiometry for the supramolecular tetrad. The mode of binding was further supported by differential pulse voltammetry studies, in which redox modulation of both zinc porphyrin and zinc phthalocyanine entities was observed. The geometry of the tetrad was deduced by B3LYP/6‐31G* optimization, whereas the energy levels for different photochemical events was established by using data from the optical absorption and emission, and electrochemical studies. Excitation of the zinc porphyrin entity of the triad and tetrad revealed ultrafast singlet–singlet energy transfer to the appended zinc phthalocyanine. The estimated rate of energy transfer (kENT) in the case of the triad was found to be 7.5×1011 s?1 in toluene and 6.3×1011 s?1 in o‐dichlorobenzene, respectively. As was predicted from the energy levels, photoinduced electron transfer from the energy‐transfer product, that is, singlet‐excited zinc phthalocyanine to fullerene was verified from the femtosecond‐transient spectral studies, both in o‐dichlorobenzene and toluene. Transient bands corresponding to ZnPc ? + in the 850 nm range and C60 ? ? in the 1020 nm range were clearly observed. The rate of charge separation, kCS, and rate of charge recombination, kCR, for the (ZnP–ZnP)–ZnPc ? +:Py2C60 ? ? radical ion pair (from the time profile of 849 nm peak) were found to be 2.20×1011 and 6.10×108 s?1 in toluene, and 6.82×1011 and 1.20×109 s?1 in o‐dichlorobenzene, respectively. These results revealed efficient energy transfer followed by charge separation in the newly assembled supramolecular tetrad.  相似文献

A stable site‐isolated mononuclear platinum catalyst with a well‐defined structure is presented. Platinum complexes supported in zeolite KLTL were synthesized from [Pt(NH3)4](NO3)2, oxidized at 633 K, and used to catalyze CO oxidation. IR and X‐ray absorption spectra and electron micrographs determine the structures and locations of the platinum complexes in the zeolite pores, demonstrate the platinum‐support bonding, and show that the platinum remained site isolated after oxidation and catalysis.  相似文献

2-Aminopurine (2AP) is an adenine analogue that has a high fluorescence quantum yield. Its fluorescence yield decreases significantly when the base is incorporated into DNA, making it a very useful real-time probe of DNA structure. However, the basic mechanism underlying 2AP fluorescence quenching by base stacking is not well understood. A critical element in approaching this problem is obtaining an understanding of the electronic structure of the excited state. We have explored the excited state properties of 2AP and 2-amino,9-methylpurine (2A9MP) in frozen solutions using Stark spectroscopy. The experimental data were correlated with high level ab initio (MRCI) calculations of the dipole moments, mu0 and mu1, of the ground and excited states. The magnitude and direction of the dipole moment change, Deltamu01 = mu1 - mu0, of the lowest energy optically allowed transition was determined. While other studies have reported on the magnitude of the dipole moment change, we believe that this is the first report of the direction of Deltamu, a quantity that will be of great value in interpreting absorption spectral changes of the 2AP chromophore. Polarizability changes due to the transition were also obtained.  相似文献
