In this work, a CZE method with indirect UV detection was developed for the simultaneous determination of the inorganic and acidic anions, chloride, sulfate, nitrate, fluoride, formate, phosphate, diethylphosphate, methyl sulfonate, cyanoacetate, and methacrylate present in cyanoacrylate adhesives. Chromate was employed as the probe ion, and the EOF was reversed by incorporating CTAB into BGE. Detection limits of 0.7-4.6 microg/mL were obtained for all the anions studied. The CE method developed is a significant improvement on traditionally used chromatographic methods such as ion chromatography, as it resulted in shorter analysis times with enhanced separation efficiencies. Ab initio CI potential energy (PES) and dipole moment (DMS) surfaces have been calculated with singles and doubles excitation configuration interaction (SDCI) for the 2-dimensional isolated sp2 CH chromophore subspace of trideuteroacetaldehyde (CD3CHO). Different extrapolation schemes to full-CI have been applied after the extrapolation to full-SDCI. Vibrational band centres and absolute intensities are determined variationally on six extrapolated surfaces. The band centres are analysed within the effective Hamiltonian model for isolated CH chromophores and the effective spectroscopic parameters are compared for the different extrapolation schemes. Animal manure is an underutilized biomass resource containing a large amount of organic carbon that is often wasted with the
existing manure disposal practices. A research project funded by the US Department of Energy explored the feasibility of using
manure via the sugar platform in a biorefinery, converting the carbon from fiber to biochemicals. The results showed that
(1) fiber was the major component of manure dry material making up approx 50%, 40%, and 36% of the dry dairy, swine, and poultry
manure material, respectively; within dairy manure, more than 56% of the dry matter was in particles larger than 1.680 mm;
(2) in addition to being a carbon source, manure could provide a variety of nutrient for fungi T. reesei and A. phoenicis to produce cellulase; (3) the hemicellulose component in the manure fiber could be readily converted to sugar through acid
hydrolysis; while concentrated acid decrystallization treatment was most effective in manure cellulose hydrolysis; (4) purification
and separation was necessary for further chemical conversion of the manure hydrolysate to polyols through hydrogenation; and

Bleomycin is an antitumor agent whose cytotoxicity is dependent on its ability to bind DNA in the nucleus and effect double-stranded DNA cleavage, which is difficult for the cell to repair. In order for this DNA cleavage to occur, bleomycin must, through a series of reactions, form a low-spin Fe(III) complex, the putative "activated" form of the drug, HOO-Fe(III)bleomycin. The relative strengths of the bonds in the Fe(III)-OOH linkage have not been determined due to the weakness of the hydroperoxo-to-iron(III) charge-transfer transition. The much more stable HOO-Co(III)bleomycin has often been studied as a structural analogue of HOO-Fe(III)bleomycin, and hence, an understanding of the relative bond strengths in the Co-OOH linkage may serve to enhance our understanding of the analogous Fe-OOH linkage. In this report, we present resonance Raman data that identify two important vibrational modes in the Co-OOH linkage, the stretching modes, nu(Co-OOH) and nu(O-OH). Both of these vibrational modes were found to be unperturbed by complexation of the drug with calf thymus DNA. Advantage was also taken of the isostructural realtionship between Fe-bleomycin and Co-bleomycin to analyze and assign the high-frequency modes for HOO-Co(III)bleomycin and Co(III)bleomycin (A(2) and B(2)). These data could be useful for future studies of photoactivated Co-bleomycin and Co-bleomycin analogues in an attempt to characterize oxygen-independent DNA damage pathways. 相似文献
