双奇核188Au的准粒子带结构研究

利用在束γ谱学实验技术, 通过¹⁷³Yb(¹⁹F,4nγ)反应 布居了¹⁸⁸Au的高自旋态, 并对其准粒子带结构进行了研究. 基于实验测量结果, 对原有的双奇核¹⁸⁸Au能级纲图做了较大的修改. 通过系统性比较, 对15⁺以上的能级结构进行了讨论.     

An ASE Reduction Filter Using Cascaded Optical Fiber Grating Couplers in EDFA Repeater

A new configuration for an ASE reduction filter in EDFA repeaters for WDM optical transmission systems using optical fiber grating couplers (FGCs) was proposed and first demonstrated. The filtering characteristics of the proposed filter for amplified single wavelength signal and 2-channel WDM signals using EDFA were identified. It was found that the filter was effective to improve SNR in optical domain by reducing ASE noise. The required FGC characteristics for the filter were theoretically predicted under the condition that the total filter loss did not exceed 3 dB. More than 70% of drop efficiency was required in each FGC for the application of the proposed filter to an 8-channel WDM system using EDFA repeaters.     

Generalized Airy Functions and the Cohomological Intersection Numbers

We compute explicitly the cohomological intersection numbers for the basis and extend the result of Iwasaki and Matsumoto. To this end, we establish the exterior power structure for the polynomial twisted de Rham cohomology group associated with the generalized Airy functions at a point of extended Veronese variety. Using this structure, we introduce a natural basis of the twisted de Rham cohomology group coming from that of the one-dimensional case, which is considered as an analogue of a flat basis of the Jacobi ring of A-type simple singularity.     

Evaluation of the molecular recognition of peptide-conjugated polymer.

We have recently reported on dodecamer peptides (HPPMDFHKAMTR, CHPQPLKSRNPL) which recognize 52-58th and 197-203rd amino acid sequences of glucose oxidase (GOx) by screening via a phage random peptide library. In this study, a side-chain protected peptide monomer (PPM) was synthesized using two peptides (HPPMDFHKAMTR, SHPQPLKSRNPL) and acryloyl chloride. The peptide-conjugated polymer (PCP) was copolymerized with PPMs and N,N-diethylacrylamide (DEAA). The affinity of PCPs to GOx was estimated using surface plasmon resonance detection. This study suggests that PCP is a valuable molecular recognition biomolecule.     

Endoscopic Observation of Tissue by Narrowband Illumination

We propose a new illumination method for a medical endoscope: narrow band imaging (NBI), in which the spectral bandwidth of the filtered light is narrowed. To confirm how the spectral specifications of the filtered light influence a reproduced image, an experiment was conducted observing the endoscopic images of the back mucosa of a human tongue. In addition, the effect of NBI on endoscopic images was investigated through preliminary clinical tests in colonoscopy and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. It has been shown that NBI can enhance the capillary pattern and the crypt pattern on the mucosa. These patterns are useful features for diagnosing an early cancer.     

Temperature and velocity measurement of a 3-D thermal flow field using thermo-sensitive liquid crystals

It is an important challenge to analyze a three-dimensional thermal flow field in engineering, science, and agriculture. For such an analysis, it is essential to measure physical quantities such as temperature and velocity over the entire thermal flow field. This paper presents a measurement system based on color image processing for temperature and velocity vector distributions in a three-dimensional thermal flow field. Flow visualization is accomplished by the use of thermo-sensitive liquid crystal tracers. An algorithm for the color-to-temperature transformation using a multi-layer feed-forward neural network is applied to three-dimensional natural convection in a rotating cylindrical cell. Two-dimensional temperature distributions in a slit plane are obtained by using the algorithm. A three-dimensional temperature distribution is consequently constructed by interpolating the two-dimensional distributions using the B-spline function. In addition, the Spatio-Temporal correlation method is applied to the natural convection to obtain a three-dimensional velocity vector distribution.     

Construction of self-assembled monolayer terminated with N-heterocyclic carbene-rhodium(I) complex moiety

Functionalization of self-assembled monolayer (SAM) of alkanethiolate with metal containing unit is one of the versatile methods to obtain functional surfaces such as heterogeneous catalysts. However, organic molecules that strongly bind to transition metals at SAM terminal are limited. Recently N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) such as cyclic diaminocarbenes have emerged as strongly σ-donating ligands forming a robust bond with broad spectrum of transition metals. In the present study, for the purpose of establishment of a new robust basement for heterogeneous metal catalysts, a SAM of the alkanethiolate terminated with NHC-rhodium(I) complex moiety was prepared by utilizing a newly designed disulfide molecule bearing NHC-metal complex terminals. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis and angle resolved XPS measurement revealed successful formation of the Rh-complex-terminated SAM on a gold substrate. Infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy (IRRAS) analysis suggested that the linker methylene chains connecting the rhodium complex moiety and the gold surface are in a loosely packed structure. This unique chemical species, NHC, would be a promising candidate as a basement for the construction of functional surface.     

Zero-cycles on self-product of modular curves

We use the elements in K-cohomology groups which are constructed by Flach and Mildenhall to obtain a finiteness result for the torsion part of the Chow group of a self-product of a modular curve.     

Stable marker-particle method for the Voronoi diagram in a flow field

The Voronoi diagram in a flow field is a tessellation of water surface into regions according to the nearest island in the sense of a “boat-sail distance”, which is a mathematical model of the shortest time for a boat to move from one point to another against the flow of water. The computation of the diagram is not easy, because the equi-distance curves have singularities. To overcome the difficulty, this paper derives a new system of equations that describes the motion of a particle along the shortest path starting at a given point on the boundary of an island, and thus gives a new variant of the marker-particle method. In the proposed method, each particle can be traced independently, and hence the computation can be done stably even though the equi-distance curves have singular points.
