Utilizing a time-resolved thermal lensing (TRTL) technique coupled with laser flash excitation, we have determined the heat conversion efficiency, a, of photoexcited molecules in solution at room temperature. The efficiencies of pyridazine, dicumarol, and 8-quinolinol are unity in the ultraviolet region. Azulene is demonstrated to be a good calorimetric standard in the visible region. The solvent effect on the thermal lens signal is well explained by thermal properties of solvent molecules, i.e. the cubic expansion coefficient and the specific heat capacity.  相似文献

In the present work, silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were in situ generated in cellulose matrix using leaf extract of Azadirachta indica as a reducing agent. The cellulose/AgNP composite films prepared were characterized by FTIR, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope, and antibacterial tests. The infrared spectra indicated the association of organic materials with silver nanoparticles to serve as capping agents. Scanning electron micrographs showed that synthesized silver nanoparticles were nearly uniform and spherical in shape with diameter in the range of 61–110?nm. XRD confirmed the formation of AgNPs and Ag–O nanoparticles. The nanocomposite films showed good antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli bacteria.  相似文献

The thermal neutron moderation analysis facility at the Institute of Experimental Physics, Debrecen, Hungary has been used to determine the weight percent of total hydrogen content in Nigerian palm oil. The facility utilizes the fast neutron moderation technique in which the intensity of reflected thermalized neutrons is proportional to the hydrogen content of the sample exposed to fast neutrons. Using a 100 cm3 sample the total hydrogen content in the oven-dry palm oil sample was found to be 12.0±0.1% within a measuring time of 5 minutes. The method is fast and can be used in plant quality control where the hydrogen content must be determined within specific limits.  相似文献

In this work we propose a method for scatter compensation in single photon emission computed tomography imaging, by which we can estimate the scatter components in projections in high speed with good accuracy. The method is that we first estimate the scatter components in projections based on scatter response kernels by one time of ordered subsets expectation maximization iterative reconstruction, and then subtract the estimated scatter components from the projections and complete reconstruction by filtered back-projection method. The principle is that the image corresponding to the scatter components in projections consists largely of low-frequency components of an activity distribution; these low-frequency components will converge faster than the high ones in iterative reconstruction. Therefore, we can estimate the low-frequency component image before the image converges with the high-frequency ones, and obtain the scatter components by re-projecting the low-frequency component image with scatter response kernels. The effects of the proposed method were compared with the dual- and triple-energy window methods using experimental measurements. The results show that good accuracy in estimated scatter components, good uniformity of scatter compensation at the center and the side of an object, and good noise property can be acquired by this method.  相似文献

The linearly polarized light induced photoalignment of liquid crystals is critically influenced by the structure of polymethacrylates with coumarin side chains. While the photoalignment direction is in parallel with the electric vector of linearly polarized 313 nm light for polymethacrylates having coumarin moieties with ethylene and hexamethylene spacers, the reversion of photoalignment from parallel into perpendicular orientation is observed for a polymethacrylate having coumarin side chains without spacer.  相似文献

In this work, the lignocellulosic fibers from the plant Thespesia lampas were extracted and investigated in detail. The prime objective of this work was to study the effect of alkali treatment on the chemical composition, tensile properties, morphological and structural changes, and thermal degradation of Thespesia lampas fibers. Chemical analysis, FT-IR, and 13C CP-MAS NMR spectroscopic studies indicated lowering of amorphous hemicellulose content on alkali treatment. Wide-angle X-ray diffraction studies indicated increase in crystallinity of the fibers on alkali treatment. The tensile strength and modulus of the fibers and thermal stability increased on alkali treatment. Scanning electron micrographs revealed roughening of the surface of the fibers due to the removal of the hemicellulose layer on alkali treatment. Tensile properties of Thespesia fibers were compared to those of other important natural fibers, and it was indicated as an alternative suitable source for composite construction.  相似文献

Recently, multispectral images have been utilized for high fidelity color reproduction through visual telecommunication systems and its compression schemes have been required. However multispectral image coding considering color degradation has not been established. This article presents a comparison of four spectral transforms presented before to find out which transform is more suitable to a spectral decorrelation scheme in transform coding of multispectral images. Transforms dealt with in this paper are Karhunen-Loeve transform (KLT), weighted KLT (WKLT), one mode analysis (OMA) and a transform realizing compatibility to the conventional color systems, latter three of which are designed to represent spectral reflectance functions with small number of coefficients having small colorimetric errors. Through the theoretical and experimental comparisons, it is found that WKLT and OMA reduced colorimetric error compared to the others, where OMA is suitable when the rendering illuminations in the color reproduction can be assumed in advance and WKLT is applicable to other situations.  相似文献

Replication technology is playing an increasingly important role in the production of optical microsystems and micro-optical elements. Hot embossing, injection moulding and UV-embossing all can produce high-quality optical elements in very cost-effective processes. New sol–gel materials allow the combination of replication with lithography to leave selected areas material-free for sawing and bonding. The development of wafer-scale replication technology using UV-curable sol–gel and polymer materials enables refractive and diffractive micro-optical elements as well as micro-mechanical alignment features to be replicated directly onto glass substrates or onto semiconductor device wafers. Grating nanostructures with linewidths less than 100 nm have been replicated into polymer and sol–gel materials for the cost-effective fabrication of large area subwavelength structures for applications such as polarisers and buried grating security features.  相似文献
