Styrene forms a complex with arsenic sulfide which in DMF at 85°C initiates radical polymerization yielding high molecular weight polymer. The order of reaction, with respect to initiator and monomer, is 0.5 ± 0.02 and unity, respectively. The energy of activation for the system computed as 96 kJ mol?1 and the polymerization is retarded by hydroquinone. A possible mechanism for reaction has also been proposed.  相似文献

A model developed to predict aqueous solubility at different temperatures has been proposed based on quantitative structure–property relationships (QSPR) methodology. The prediction consists of two steps. The first one predicts the value of k parameter in the linear equation , where Sw is the value of solubility and T is the value of temperature. The second step uses Random Forest technique to create high‐efficiency QSPR model. The performance of the model is assessed using cross‐validation and external test set prediction. Predictive capacity of developed model is compared with COSMO‐RS approximation, which has quantum chemical and thermodynamic foundations. The comparison shows slightly better prediction ability for the QSPR model presented in this publication. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

Energy conservation continues to play a crucial role in social and economic development. With the remarkable increase in oil prices and exploring solutions for the replacement of fossil fuels, an ecofriendly energy resource has become the priority among more and more people. Keeping the intension for reducing the global warming impact and looking for alternative clean source of energy, solar energy applications such as solar thermal systems, solar water heating and cooling are becoming energy-efficient designs. One of the widely used applications of solar energy is solar water heating systems. Low-cost solar water heaters can cover the domestic needs for water in the range of 100–200 l per day. Solar water heating systems are generally more efficient and advantageous in hot areas. However, the application of solar water heating is still a challenge in winter and sub-zero conditions, having low solar irradiance. In such conditions, solar water heating system cannot produce enough energy, which drives a need for evaluating system component design and improves its performance during low ambient conditions. In this study, detailed design methods for solar water heater components are discussed for cold regions like North Dakota, USA. The type of system chosen in this study is natural circulation-based solar water heating system. The study will also compare the experimental data with previously conducted numerical analysis.

A 7.2 V, 1.25 Ah sealed lithium-ion rechargeable battery has been studied for estimating its state-of-charge (SOC) by AC impedance. The dispersion of impedance data over the frequency range between 100 kHz and 25 mHz comprises an inductive part and two capacitive parts. As the inductive behaviour of the battery is attributed to the porous nature of the electrodes, only the capacitive components have been examined. The data obtained at several SOC values of the battery have been analyzed by a non-linear least-squares fitting procedure. The presence of two depressed semicircles in the capacitive region of the Nyquist plots necessitated the use of an electrical equivalent circuit containing constant phase elements instead of capacitances. The impedance parameters corresponding to the low-frequency semicircle have been found useful for predicting the SOC of the battery, mainly because the magnitude of these parameters and their variations are more significant than those of the high-frequency semicircle. The frequency maximum (f max) of the semicircle, the resistive component (Z′) corresponding to f max, the phase angle (φ) in the 5.0 Hz–0.1 Hz frequency range, the equivalent series resistance (R s) and the equivalent series capacitance (C s) have been identified as suitable parameters for predicting the SOC values of the lithium-ion battery. Summary A new series of cyano-substituted nitrosylchromium(I) complexes having octahedral stereochemistry around the metal ion, and of general formula, [CrNO(CN)2(L)2(H2O)] (L =o-,m- andp-phenetidines oro-,m-, andp-anisidines) have been isolated in the solid state by interaction of potassium pentacy-anonitrosylchromate(I) monohydrate with the appropriately substituted aniline. The complexes, which have been characterised by elemental analysis, conductance, molecular weight determination, magnetic measurements, e.s.r. and i.r. spectral studies, contain chromium(I) in a low-spin d5-configuration.  相似文献

Life-threatening diseases, especially those caused by pathogens and harmful ultraviolet radiation (UV-R), have triggered increasing demands for comfortable, antimicrobial, and UV-R protective clothing with a long service life. However, developing such textiles with exceptional wash durability is still challenging. Herein, we demonstrate how to fabricate wash durable multifunctional cotton textiles by growing in situ ZnO-TiO2 hybrid nanocrystals (NCs) on the surface of cellulosic fabrics. The ZnO-TiO2 hybrid NCs presented high functional efficiency, owing to their high charge transfer/separation. Ultrafine fiber surface pores, utilized as nucleating sites, endowed the uniform growth of NCs and their physical locking. The resulting fabrics presented excellent UV protection factors up to 54, displayed bactericidal efficiency of 100% against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, and optimum self-cleaning efficacy. Moreover, the functionalized textiles exhibited robust washing durability, maintaining antibacterial and anti-UV-R efficiency even after 30 extensive washing cycles.
