The diffraction of anE-polarized and anH-polarized wave by an imperfectly conducting slit (on which impedance boundary conditions are imposed) in an infinite metallic plane is investigated. The two independent problems are solved by using integral transforms, the Wiener-Hopf technique and asymptotic approximations. It is found that the diffracted field consists of the sum of fields produced by the two edges of the planes formed by the slit and a field due to the interaction of the two edges.  相似文献

In this paper, a size-biased Consul distribution (SBCOND) is defined. Recurrence relations for central moments and the moments about origin are obtained. Different estimation methods for the parameters of the model are discussed. A comparative analysis is done among the three different estimation methods and the proposed model is compared with the generalized logarithmic series distribution (GLSD) and simple Consul distribution.  相似文献

Up-regulation of stress-activated proteins in cancer cells plays a protective role against photodynamic induced apoptosis. Post photodynamic therapy extracted normal rat liver tissue usually shows a fraction of surviving cells, the photodynamic resistant cells, residing in the necrotic region. To treat these photo-dynamic resistant cells a technique has been proposed based on fractionated drug administration of diluted photosensitizer, keeping the net concentration (5 mg/kg) constant, and subsequently varying drug light interval (DLI). Flourescence measurements were made for the presence of photosensitizer in a tissue. For qualitative analysis both histological and morphological studies were made. Although preliminary aim of this approach was not achieved but there were some interesting observation made i.e. for higher dilution of photosensitizer there was a sharp boundary between necrotic and normal portion of tissue. An increase in the absorption coefficient (α) from 2.7 → 2.9 was observed as photosensitizer was diluted while the corresponding threshold dose (D th) persistently decreases from (0.10 → 0.02) J/cm2 when irradiated with a 635 nm laser fluence of 150 J/cm2.  相似文献

Algebraic linearization criteria by means of general point transformations for systems of two second-order nonlinear ordinary differential equations (ODEs) are revisited. In previous work due to Wafo Soh and Mahomed (Int. J. Non-Linear Mech. 36:671, 2001) two four-dimensional Lie algebras that result in linearizability in terms of arbitrary point transformation for such systems were studied. Here we consider three more algebras of dimension four that result in linearization. Therefore our results supplement those of Wafo Soh and Mahomed (Int. J. Non-Linear Mech. 36:671, 2001). Moreover, it is shown that these are the only other possibilities for dimension four. Hence we provide the complete algebraic linearization criteria for dimension four algebras. Necessary and sufficient conditions for linearization via invertible maps of a nonlinear to a linear system are given. These are shown to be built up from the Lie algebraic criteria for linearization of scalar second-order ODEs. These results together with very recent work (Bagderina in J. Phys. A, Math. Theor. 43:465201, 2010) give a complete picture on linearizability properties via general point transformations for systems of two second-order ODEs. Furthermore, we provide natural extensions of these algebraic criteria for linearizing arbitrary systems of nonlinear second-order ODEs by means of point transformations. We also obtain algebraic criteria for the reduction of a linear system to the simplest system. Examples from Newtonian mechanics and geodesic equations are presented to illustrate our results.  相似文献

The present analysis deals with diffraction of acoustic waves by an oscillating strip focusing on the exact and concise formulation of a series solution in the complex domain. The complete solution is represented by a series, the eigenfunctions of which are generalized gamma functions. An exact expression of this special function, with argument being ‘integer +1/2’, is derived. The convergence analysis of the series solution in transformed domain is discussed graphically. Finally, the scattered and total acoustic fields are obtained by exact and asymptotic evaluations of inverse Fourier transforms. The significance of the present investigation is the derivation of a high order accurate solution in a convenient form.  相似文献

In the present paper, the main focus is to study soliton formations of a two-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic flow over a nonlinear stretching sheet with the help of transformed rational function method. The fluid is electrically conductive, normal to the stretching sheet and there is no induced magnetic field. The flow problem is described by the continuity and momentum equation with suitable boundary conditions. For solving the model, the nonlinearity poses a great challenge. Nonlinear partial differential equation has been converted into a nonlinear ordinary differential equation by using similarity transformations, and then a trial solution is assumed. The results indicate complete consistency and effectiveness of the suggested scheme compared with the existing literature.  相似文献

57Fe Mössbauer spectra recorded in situ in vacuo from chromium- and gallium-doped Fe3O4 at elevated temperatures show the dopant ions to depress the Curie temperature of Fe3O4 by ca. 70 K. Spectra recorded from aluminium-doped -Fe2O3 show the onset of conversion to aluminium-doped -Fe2O3 to begin at ca. 750 K, which is ca. 100 K above the conversion temperature for undoped -Fe2O3. The variation in magnetic hyperfine fields at temperatures exceeding ca. 750 K is similar to that recorded from -Fe2O3 when doped with zinc or magnesium. At temperatures exceeding 900 K the zinc doped -Fe2O3 partially converts to spinel-related ZnFe2O4.  相似文献
