In this work, we investigate the emergence of rare and intense events during the Raman fiber amplification of a continuous wave. We highlight how dispersive properties and pump depletion can strongly influence the statistical properties of the amplified signal and its optical spectrum. Under certain conditions, the probability density functions of the amplified signal are calculated analytically and compared with the results of the numerical simulations. The conclusions are qualitatively validated by experiments carried out at telecommunication wavelengths. 相似文献

New imidazoles were easily prepared from 2,3‐diamino‐1,4‐naphthoquinone and stoichiometric quantities of the appropriate aldehydes in dimethyl sulfoxide as a solvent. The reaction proceeded for few hours. The procedure can be generalized to different classes of aldehydes. 2‐Methyl‐1H‐naphtho[2,3‐d]imidazole‐4,9‐dione was also obtained in good yield during refluxing of 2,3‐diaminonaphthoquinone in acetic acid. In this paper, a new configuration for the input joint images in the joint transform correlator is proposed for fast real-time binary characters and fingerprints verification. In the proposed scheme, the input joint image has a complementary-reference image and a complementary target image in addition to the reference and the target images. We use the cross-correlation peak value between the reference and the complementary target image and the cross-correlation peak value between the complementary reference and the target images as the criteria to perform the recognition of the target in the input scene. It is shown that these two cross-correlation peak values will be zero if and only if the input target matches the reference image. One advantage of using the proposed scheme is the elimination of the usual and necessary time-consuming normalization of the input images in the general correlation-based matching processes. Another advantage of the proposed scheme is the insensitive to light-sources intensity fluctuations that usually limits the matched-based recognition approaches. The scheme is employed to verify binary characters and fingerprints images; further, it is employed to verify occluded fingerprints target images on one hand, and to determine if a specific part or pattern exists in the target fingerprint image on the other hand. 相似文献

Euler transformation for accelerating convergence of a series is considered in the context of handling divergent (asymptotically convergent) perturbation series. A generalized (parametrized) version of this transformation is developed, based on the conjecture of Dalgarno and Stewart, which works better. Viewed from this standpoint, the Padé approximants follow as a special case of the parametrized Euler transformation (PET ), as is the case with the μ transformation procedure of Feenberg in a perturbative context. The PET is shown to serve as a more general method of handling a divergent series and is able to appreciate the construction and convergence behavior of specific sequences of Padé approximants. The role of parametrization in the context of the Z?1 perturbation theory of atoms is also noted and the workability of the adopted strategy is demonstrated by choosing some specific test cases. 相似文献

Clay-containing polymeric nanocomposites (PNC) are mixtures of dispersed clay platelets in a polymeric matrix. These materials show enhancement of physical properties, such as modulus, strength, and dimensional stability, as well as a reduction of gas permeability and flammability. The performance is related to the degree of clay dispersion (i.e., intercalation or exfoliation) and the bonding between the clay and the matrix. The main goal of this work has been to map the degree of dispersion as a function of independent variables (viz., magnitude of the interaction parameters, molecular weights, composition, etc.). In this paper, we present the results of the numerical analysis of the equilibrium thermodynamic miscibility using one- and two-dimensional (1D and 2D) models based on the self-consistent mean-field theory. In the limit, the 2D model reproduced the 1D model published results. The adopted 2D model considers the presence of four PNC components: solid clay platelets, low molecular weight intercalant, polymeric matrix, and end-functionalized compatibilizer. The simulations, with realistic values of the binary interaction parameters, were analyzed for potential exfoliation of PNC with a polyolefin as the matrix. The simulation results show that intercalation and exfoliation is expected within limited ranges of the independent variables. The presence of a bare clay surface (e.g., generated by thermal decomposition of intercalant or extraction by molten polymer) has a strong negative effect on the dispersion process. The simulation successfully identified the most influential factors, e.g., optimum ranges of the compatibilizer and the intercalant concentration. 相似文献

We present microwave and infrared measurements on SmLa0.8Sr0.2CuO4-delta, which are direct evidence for the existence of a transverse optical plasma mode, observed as a peak in the c-axis optical conductivity. This mode appears as a consequence of the existence of two different intrinsic Josephson couplings between the CuO2 layers, one with a Sm2O2 block layer, and the other one with a (La,Sr)2O2-delta block layer. From the frequencies and the intensities of the collective modes we determine the value of the compressibility of the two dimensional electron fluid in the copper oxygen planes. 相似文献

In this paper, gain flatness is studied for simultaneous 16-ITU-T channel amplifications at C-band (1,532–1,558 nm) in a single
stage EDFA for WDM application at different average inversion levels. The inversion levels are varied due to the change of
the input signal levels from the targeted operating point and also for dropping few numbers of channels. Specially designed
gain flattening filter (GFF) is used in order to get the flat gain with gain variation ±0.5 dB for −20 dBm/ch input signal
power (total input signal power is −8.0 dBm) at a fixed average inversion level which is maintained by proper selection of
optimum fibre length and pump power. A specific loss spectrum of GFF is obtained by writing a chirped fibre Bragg grating
of length 20 mm. Gain variations are studied by changing the total input signal levels from −8.0 dBm to −20.0 dBm and maintained
within 20.0 ± 0.5 dB by using automatic gain control (AGC) circuit. About 15 out of 16 channels are dropped and observed ±

In this paper, 10 Gbps optical soliton transmission link using in-line semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs) for already installed standard single mode fibers (SMF) at 1.3 μm wavelength has been reported. The pattern effect and the impact of chirp on pulse propagation after amplification have been investigated. The observations are based on modeling and simulation optical soliton transmission link.
