This paper reports on a study that explored the application of the entropy generation minimization method to solid mechanics. After reviewing the definition of thermodynamic process and the principles of continuum mechanics, the constitutive equations of four categories of solid behaviors namely thermoelasticity, thermoviscoelasticity, thermoplasticity, and thermoviscoplasticity are discussed. Based on the computation of entropy generation due to mechanical harmonic loading in these four categories, a problem is presented. Several nondimensional parameters are defined using material, loading, and geometric parameters. The effects of nondimensional parameters on entropy generation due to heat conduction and internal dissipation are obtained and the solutions to minimize entropy generation are discussed.  相似文献

This paper presents computational experience with a rather straight forward implementation of an edge search algorithm for obtaining the globally optimal solution for linear programs with an additional reverse convex constraint. The paper's purpose is to provide a collection of problems, with known optimal solutions, and performance information for an edge search implementation so that researchers may have some benchmarks with which to compare new methods for reverse convex programs or concave minimization problems. There appears to be nothing in the literature that provides computational experience with a basic edge search procedure. The edge search implementation uses a depth first strategy. As such, this paper's implementation of the edge search algorithm is a modification of Hillestad's algorithm [11]. A variety of test problems is generated by using a modification of the method of Sung and Rosen [20], as well as a new method that is presented in this paper. 4‐Hydroxypyridine‐2,6‐dicarboxylic acid (chelidamic acid, hypydc[H]H2) reacts with MnCl2·2H2O in the presence of piperazine in water to afford the title complex, {[Mn3(C7H2NO5)2(H2O)8]·3H2O}n or {[Mn3(hypydc)2(H2O)8]·3H2O}n. This compound is a one‐dimensional coordination polymer, with the twofold symmetric repeat unit containing three metal centres. Two different coordination geometries are observed for the two independent MnII metal centres, viz. a distorted pentagonal bipyramid and a distorted octahedron. The 4‐oxidopyridine‐2,6‐dicarboxylate anions and two of the water molecules act as bridging ligands. The zigzag‐like geometry of the coordination polymer is stabilized by hydrogen bonds. O—H...O and C—H...O hydrogen bonds and water clusters consolidate the three‐dimensional network structure.  相似文献

Different types of 4,5-disubstituted 1,2,4-triazole-3-thiones were prepared by microwave irradiation as well as by a classical method. The beneficial effect of microwave irradiation on the dehydrative cyclization of thiosemicarbazides in different reaction media is described. Our results show that the effect of microwave irradiation on the reaction studied was the shortening of reaction times (from 2–9 h to 2–4 min) and a minor decrease (1–4%) in yields. The structure of the new compounds was established by FTIR, MS, and 1H NMR spectral data.  相似文献

In this research, polyacrylamide-based gels were made at 25°C and aged in an oven at 90°C for 24 hours. The bottle testing results indicated that gel composed of 15000 ppm partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (PHPA) and 2500 ppm chromium(III) acetate exhibited an acceptable strength. The strain sweep test results showed that elastic modulus is fixed on 6 Pa below strain of 100%. According to frequency test results, linear viscoelasticity region was observed at the frequency limits from 0.1 to 10 s?1. Moreover, elastic modulus decreased from 8 Pa at 25°C to 4 Pa at 90°C. Furthermore, gelation time for gelant with the same composition was obtained (14, 13, and 20 minutes) in sequence.  相似文献

In this study, a new and stable Ce(IV) immobilized on halloysite nanotube–functionalized dendrimer was designed, synthesized, and characterized using Fourier-transform infrared, elemental analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, field emission scanning electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy–energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, dynamic light scattering, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller, and inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy techniques. This catalyst was efficiently used for the one-pot, single-step multicomponent synthesis of pyrido[3,2-c]coumarins from 4-aminocoumarin, aldehydes, and aryl ketones. The efficiency and selectivity of this catalytic system were also evaluated for the synthesis of pyrido[3,2-c]coumarins from terminal/internal alkynes instead of aryl ketones. In this respect, the regioselectivity of the products was successfully assigned by X-ray crystallographic analysis. All these reactions were best performed under solvent-free conditions in the presence of only 0.28 mol% of the catalyst, and such a one-pot multicomponent synthesis of pyrido[3,2-c]coumarins is reported for the first time. It is also worth noting that single-step and short reaction path for the synthesis of a variety of pyrido[3,2-c]coumarins along with excellent reusability of this dendritic catalyst makes this method economically and environmentally attractive.  相似文献

Stereolithography‐assisted fabrication of hydrogels of carboxybetaine methacrylamide (CBMAA) and a α,ω‐methacrylate poly(d,l ‐lactide‐block‐ethylene glycol‐block‐ d,l ‐lactide) (MA‐PDLLA‐PEG‐PDLLA‐MA) telechelic triblock macromer is presented. This technique allows printing complex structures with gyroid interconnected porosity possessing extremely high specific area. Hydrogels are characterized by infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and laser scanning confocal microscopy (LSCM). The copolymerization with zwitterionic comonomer leads hydrogels with high equilibrium water content (EWC), up to 700% while maintaining mechanical robustness. The introduction of carboxybetaine yields excellent resistance to nonspecific protein adsorption while providing a facile way for specific biofunctionalization with a model protein, fluorescein isothiocyanate labeled bovine serum albumin (BSA). The homogeneous protein immobilization across the hydrogel pores prove the accessibility to the innermost pore volumes. The remarkably low protein adsorption combined with the interconnected nature of the porosity allowing fast diffusion of nutrient and waste product and the mimicry of bone trabecular, makes the hydrogels presented here highly attractive for tissue engineering.  相似文献

The synthesis and structural characterizations of Cd(II) indomethacin (Indo) and Lawsone (Law) complexes, K2[Cd2(Indo)4(SCN)2], 1 and [Cd2(Law)4(phen)2]·4CH3OH, 2 (SCN = thiocyanate, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline), have been studied. The complexes are dimeric, structurally characterized by spectral (IR, TOF-Mass) and X-ray crystallography. The interaction of indomethacin and Lawsone ligands, 1 and 2 with calf thymus DNA and bovine serum albumin were investigated using UV–visible and fluorescence spectrophotometric methods. The in vitro cytotoxicity of 1 and 2 was examined against promyelocytic leukemia (HL-60), colon (HCT-8), brain (SF-295), and melanoma (MDA-MB-435) cancer cell lines. Moreover, the antimicrobial activity of 1 and 2 against different strains of pathogenic bacteria were tested.  相似文献

Rapid and highly efficient synthesis of novel optically active poly(amide-imide)s (PAIs) 6(a-f) was achieved using microwave irradiation. These were made from the polycondensation reactions of 4,4-carbonyl-bis(phthaloyl-l-alanine) diacid chloride [N,N-(4,4-carbonyldiphthaloyl)] bisalanine diacid chloride 5 with six different derivatives of hydantoin and thiohydantoin compounds 4(a-f) in the presence of a small amount of a nonpolar organic medium that acts as a primary microwave absorber. Hydantoin and thiohydantoin derivatives 4(a-e) were synthesis from the reactions between benzil or benzil derivatives 3(a-e) with urea and thiourea. 5,5-Dimethylhydantoin 4f was synthesis from the reactions between acetone cyanohydrin 3f and ammonium carbonate. The polycondensation proceeded rapidly, and was completed within 10 min giving a series of PAIs with an inherent viscosity about 0.25-0.45 dL/g. The resulting PAIs 6(a-f) were obtained in a high yield and were optically active and thermally stable. All of the above compounds were fully characterized by means of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, elemental analyses, inherent viscosity (ηinh), solubility tests and specific rotation. Thermal properties of the PAIs 6(a-f) were investigated using thermal gravimetric analysis.  相似文献
