On the analysis of a kind of nonlinear Sobolev equation through locally applied pseudo‐spectral meshfree radial point interpolation

In this study, we develop an approximate formulation for two‐dimensional nonlinear Sobolev problems by focusing on pseudospectral meshless radial point interpolation (PSMRPI) which is a kind of locally applied radial basis function interpolation and truthfully a meshless approach. In the PSMRPI method, the nodal points do not need to be regularly distributed and can even be quite arbitrary. It is easy to have high order derivatives of unknowns in terms of the values at nodal points by constructing operational matrices. The convergence and stability of the technique in some sense are studied via some examples to show the validity and trustworthiness of the PSMRPI technique.     

Computational study of decaying annular vortex flow using the Rε/k − ε turbulence model

In this article, we present three dimensional CFD study of turbulent vortex flow in an annular passage using OpenFOAM 1.6. The vortex flow is generated by introducing the flow through a tangential entry to the passage. For the analysis presented in this article, turbulence was modeled using the R_ε/k − ε model, in addition, a comparison between such model with the standard k − ε model was conducted and discussed. The main characteristics of the flow such as vortex structure and recirculation zone were investigated. It was found that flow is subjected to Rankine vortex structure with three forced vortex regimes and a free vortex region near to the outer wall. The phenomenon of vortex decay was investigated by depicting the swirl number trend along the axial direction of the flow domain. It was found that the vortex decay is subjected to an exponential decay behavior. New coefficients for the exponential decay correlation were derived based on local values of velocity components in different radial planes.     

Commutativity of rings and near-rings with generalized derivations

In this paper we prove some theorems of commutativity for prime rings or 3-prime near-rings with a suitably constrained generalized derivation. As a consequence of the results obtained, we prove several commutativity theorems for 3-prime near-rings and prime rings. Also, we prove some other results about the generalized derivation either on a near-ring or on a ring.     

The Duality Property of Positive R-Compact Operators

We study the duality of r-compact operator. We establish if an operator ${T:E\rightarrow F}$ is r-compact, then its adjoint ${T^{\prime}: F^{\prime }\rightarrow E^{\prime }}$ is also r-compact. We also provide some sufficient condition on the pair of Banach lattices E and F which guarantees that a regular operator ${T:E\rightarrow F}$ such that ${T^{\prime }:F^{\prime }\rightarrow E^{\prime }}$ is r-compact, must itself be r-compact.     

GENERIC WARPED PRODUCT SUBMANIFOLDS OF LOCALLY CONFORMAL KEAHLER MANIFOLDS

Warped product manifolds are known to have applications in physics. For instance, they provide an excellent setting to model space-time near a black hole or a massive star （cf. [9]）. The studies on warped product manifolds with extrinsic geometric point of view were intensified after the B.Y. Chen＇s work on CR-warped product submanifolds of Kaehler manifolds （cf. [6], [7]）. Later on, similar studies were carried out in the setting of 1.c.K. manifolds and nearly Kaehler manifolds （el. [3], [11]）. In the present article, we investigate a larger class of warped product submanifolds of 1.c.K. manifolds, ensure their existence by constructing an example of such manifolds and obtain some important properties of these submanifolds. With regard to the CR-warped product submanifold, a special case of generic warped product submanifolds, we obtain a characterization under which a CR-submanifold is reducesd to a CR-warped product submanifold.     

Réflexivité d'une extension d'un opérateur sous-normal par un opérateur algébrique

A bounded linear operator on a Hilbert space is said to be reflexive if the operators which leave invariant the invariant subspaces of T are wot-limits of polynomials in T. In this paper we give a necessary and sufficient condition for an extension of a subnormal operator by an algebraic one to be reflexive.We also give a formula for the reflexivity defect of such extensions.     

A Berry-Esséen Theorem for Serial Rank Statistics

Berry-Esséen bounds of the optimal O(n-1/2) order are obtained, under the null hypothesis of randomness, for serial linear rank statistics, of the form a1 (Rt)a2(Rt-k). Such statistics play an essential role in distribution-free methods for time-series analysis, where they provide nonparametric analogues to classical (Gaussian) correlogram-based methods. Berry-Esséen inequalities are established under mild conditions on the score-generating functions, allowing for normal (van der Waerden) scores. They extend to the serial case the earlier result of Does (1982, Ann. Probab., 10, 982-991) on (nonserial) linear rank statistics, and to the context of nonparametric rank-based statistics the parametric results of Taniguchi (1991, Higher Order Asymptotics for Time Series Analysis, Springer, New York) on quadratic forms of Gaussian stationary processes.
