Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) have remarkable and unique electronic, mechanical, and thermal properties, which are closely related to their chiralities; thus, the chirality-selective recognition/extraction of the SWNTs is one of the central issues in nanotube science. However, any rational materials design enabling one to efficiently extract/solubilize pure SWNT with a desired chirality has yet not been demonstrated. Herein we report that certain chiral polyfluorene copolymers can well-recognize SWNTs with a certain chirality preferentially, leading to solubilization of specific chiral SWNTs. The chiral copolymers were prepared by the Ni(0)-catalyzed Yamamoto coupling reaction of 2,7-dibromo-9,9-di-n-decylfluorene and 2,7-dibromo-9,9-bis[(S)-(+)-2-methylbutyl]fluorene comonomers. The selectivity of the SWNT chirality was mainly determined by the relative fraction of the achiral and chiral side groups. By a molecular mechanics simulation, the cooperative interaction between the fluorene moiety, alkyl side chain, and graphene wall were responsible for the recognition/dissolution ability of SWNT chirality. This is a first example describing the rational design and synthesis of novel fluorene-based copolymers toward the recognition/extraction of targeted (n,?m) chirality of the SWNTs.  相似文献

Accurate assessment of risk factors is important for the evaluation of radiation-induced ocular lens damage. Our previous study identified a significant city difference between Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic-bomb survivors in terms of cataract prevalence, prompting further analysis. This study analyzed the sites of lens opacities and used model fitting that incorporated the variable impact of UV on the eye, based on the hypothesis that the city difference in the prevalence of cataract was due to differences in UV radiation between the two cities. The results suggested that cataracts among Nagasaki residents were more frequently located at the inferior nasal portion of the lens compared to cataracts in Hiroshima residents, with no ionizing radiation-specific localization observed. Based on the angles of incidence, UV was suggested as a possible cause of the city difference. We therefore analyzed models of city differences in terms of UVA and UVB levels. The UVB model provided a better fit than the UVA model, suggesting that UVB might account for the city difference. The current study implicated the geographic location of the subject, the investigation period, and outdoor activities as potentially important surrogate factors for UVB influence in radiation-induced cataract. In addition, the superior temporal portion of the lens seemed the most suitable for evaluating the effects of ionizing radiation because of the lesser amount of UVB interference at that site.  相似文献

Six novel quinolinone alkaloids bearing a phenylpropanoid or a coumarin moiety, named melicodenines C–H (16), two new cinnamyl alcohol derivatives, named melicodins A (7) and B (8), and a new coumarinolignan, named melicodin C (9), were isolated from the leaves of Melicope denhamii (Seem.) T. G. Hartley. Their structures were established by spectroscopic analyses including extensive 2D-NMR experiments. Compounds 15 and 9 possess a cyclobutane ring and are hypothetically produced by a [2+2] cycloaddition, whereas compound 6 is presumed to form through a Diels–Alder cycloaddition followed by the elimination of an acetone molecule. Ten quinolinone alkaloids (16, 1013) and a coumarinolignan (9) were tested for anti-proliferative activity against DLD-1 human colon cancer cells. Melicodenine G (5) showed the most potent inhibitory activity, causing the induction of apoptosis with an IC50 value of 9.4±0.3 μM.  相似文献

The synthesis of optically active medium-sized α-aminolactams via ring-closing metathesis is described. The amidation of optically active N-Boc-allylglycine derivatives with N-protected alkenylamine, and ring-closing metathesis resulted in the formation of medium-sized α-aminolactams with good yield.  相似文献

A rapid and simple liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry method for determination of methotrexate (MTX) in rheumatic patients' serum is described. Serum spiked with pterin as an internal standard was deproteinized with methanol. The separation of MTX from interfering peaks in matrix was achieved on a Luna 3 µm C18 (100 × 4.6 mm i.d.) column with a mixture of 1% acetic acid and acetonitrile (88:12, v/v) within 5 min. Multiple reaction monitoring transitions monitored for MTX were m/z 455.2–308.1. The calibration curve of MTX in serum showed a good linearity (r = 0.999). Limits of detection and quantification of MTX at a signal‐to‐noise ratio of 3 and 10 were 3.0 n m (4.4 fmol/injection) and 10.0 n m (14.5 fmol/injection), respectively. The accuracy and precision for intra‐ and inter‐day assays were 94.6–106.5% and <5.5 and <5.1%, respectively. We developed novel supramolecular gelators with simple molecular structures that could harden a broad range of solvents: aqueous solutions of a wide pH range, organic solvents, edible oil, biodiesel, and ionic liquids at gelation concentrations of 0.1-2 wt %. The supramolecular gelators were composed of a long hydrophobic tail, amino acids and gluconic acid, which were prepared by liquid-phase synthesis. Among seven types of the gelators synthesized, the gelators containing L-Val, L-Leu, and L-Ile exhibited high gelation ability to various solvents. These gelators were soluble in aqueous and organic solvents, and also in ionic liquids at high temperature. The gelation of these solvents was thermally reversible. The microscopic observations (TEM, SEM, and CLSM) and small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) measurements suggested that the gelator molecules self-assembled to form entangled nanofibers in a large variety of solvents, resulting in the gelation of these solvents. Molecular mechanics and density functional theory (DFT) calculations indicated the possible molecular packing of the gelator in the nanofibers. Interestingly, the gelation of an ionic liquid by our gelator did not affect the ionic conductivity of the ionic liquid, which would provide an advantage to electrochemical applications.  相似文献

This article details the development of a novel method that overcomes the drawbacks of sandwich ELISA (sELISA) and allows reliable evaluation of simultaneous quantification of the amyloid (Aβ)-peptides, total-Aβ, Aβx-38, Aβx-40, and Aβx-42, in rat brain by optimized sample purification and column-switching liquid chromatographic-tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS). This method provides accurate analyses of total-Aβ, Aβx-38, Aβx-40, and Aβx-42 with a linear calibration range between 0.05 and 45 ng/mL. Verification for accuracy and precision of biological samples were determined by a standard addition and recovery test, spiked with synthetic Aβ1-38, Aβ1-40, and Aβ1-42 into the rat brain homogenate. This method showed <20% relative error and relative standard deviation, indicating high reproducibility and reliability. The brain concentrations of total-Aβ, Aβx-38, Aβx-40, and Aβx-42 after oral administration of flurbiprofen in rats were measured by this method. Aβx-42 concentrations (4.57 ± 0.69 ng/g) in rats administered flurbiprofen were lower than those in untreated rats (6.48 ± 0.93 ng/g). This was consistent with several reports demonstrating that NSAIDs reduced the generation of Aβ. We report here a method that allows not only the quantification of specific molecular species of Aβ but also simultaneous quantification of total-Aβ, Aβx-38, Aβx-40, and Aβx-42, thus overcoming the drawbacks of sELISA.  相似文献

Capillary electrophoresis coupled with time-of-flight mass spectrometry was used to explore new serum biomarkers with high sensitivity and specificity for diabetic nephropathy (DN) diagnosis, through comprehensive analysis of serum metabolites with 78 diabetic patients. Multivariate analyses were used for identification of marker candidates and development of discriminative models. Of the 289 profiled metabolites, orthogonal partial least-squares discriminant analysis identified 19 metabolites that could distinguish between DN with macroalbuminuria and diabetic patients without albuminuria. These identified metabolites included creatinine, aspartic acid, γ-butyrobetaine, citrulline, symmetric dimethylarginine (SDMA), kynurenine, azelaic acid, and galactaric acid. Significant correlations between all these metabolites and urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratios (p?<?0.009, Spearman’s rank test) were observed. When five metabolites (including γ-butyrobetaine, SDMA, azelaic acid and two unknowns) were selected from 19 metabolites and applied for multiple logistic regression model, AUC value for diagnosing DN was 0.927 using the whole dataset, and 0.880 in a cross-validation test. In addition, when four known metabolites (aspartic acid, SDMA, azelaic acid and galactaric acid) were applied, the resulting AUC was still high at 0.844 with the whole dataset and 0.792 with cross-validation. Combination of serum metabolomics with multivariate analyses enabled accurate discrimination of DN patients. The results suggest that capillary electrophoresis-mass spectrometry based metabolome analysis could be used for DN diagnosis.  相似文献

This paper reports the first attempt of the Pt-catalyst-assisted MOVPE growth of InN. In order to enhance NH3 decomposition at a relatively low growth temperature (~550 °C), Pt is used as a catalyst. The catalyst is installed in the NH3 introduction tube in the MOVPE reactor and the tube is located just above the susceptor to be heated. Compared with InN films grown without the catalyst, the samples grown with Pt catalyst show improved electrical properties; a carrier concentration in the order of 1018 cm?3 and a Hall mobility as high as 1350 cm2/Vs are obtained. The crystalline quality is also improved by employing the catalyst and a tilt fluctuation as low as 8.6 arcmin is obtained for a sample grown on a GaN/sapphire template. It is confirmed that for InN films grown at 550 °C with Pt catalyst, the electrical and crystallographic properties are also improved with increase in thickness. These results indicate that the growth at around 550 °C with the Pt catalyst is performed under the circumstances where NH3 is effectively decomposed, whereas the deterioration of InN during growth is significantly suppressed.  相似文献
