We show how to apply a general theoretical approach to nonequilibrium statistical mechanics, called Maximum Caliber, originally suggested by E. T. Jaynes [Annu. Rev. Phys. Chem. 31, 579 (1980)], to a problem of two-state dynamics. Maximum Caliber is a variational principle for dynamics in the same spirit that Maximum Entropy is a variational principle for equilibrium statistical mechanics. The central idea is to compute a dynamical partition function, a sum of weights over all microscopic paths, rather than over microstates. We illustrate the method on the simple problem of two-state dynamics, A<-->B, first for a single particle, then for M particles. Maximum Caliber gives a unified framework for deriving all the relevant dynamical properties, including the microtrajectories and all the moments of the time-dependent probability density. While it can readily be used to derive the traditional master equation and the Langevin results, it goes beyond them in also giving trajectory information. For example, we derive the Langevin noise distribution rather than assuming it. As a general approach to solving nonequilibrium statistical mechanics dynamical problems, Maximum Caliber has some advantages: (1) It is partition-function-based, so we can draw insights from similarities to equilibrium statistical mechanics. (2) It is trajectory-based, so it gives more dynamical information than population-based approaches like master equations; this is particularly important for few-particle and single-molecule systems. (3) It gives an unambiguous way to relate flows to forces, which has traditionally posed challenges. (4) Like Maximum Entropy, it may be useful for data analysis, specifically for time-dependent phenomena.  相似文献

Thirteen pregnane glycosides were isolated from fresh leaves of Marsdenia tomentosa collected in the Fukuyama district. Of these, six were glycosides previously obtained from the same plant collected in the Fukuoka district and one from another Asclepiadaceous plant. Photoirradiation of Me2CO–H2O solution of pent-4-en-1-ol (1a) with a high-pressure mercury lamp in a test tube gave 8-hydroxyoctan-2-one (3a) in 66 % yield along with oxetane (4a) and the isomer (4a′) in 10 % yield. Irradiation of the running Me2CO–H2O solution of 1a in the flow system of a microchannel reactor (MCR) gave mainly 4a. The photoreaction of 1,1-diphenylethene (2a) with triethylamine gave a Markovnikov-type adduct (5a) and an anti-Markovnikov-type adduct (6a). The use of the MCR enhanced the production of 5a. Conditions for the synthesis of aluminum organophosphonate (AOP) and aluminophosphate (AlPO) spheres containing periodic mesopores were optimized and demonstrated to be general morphological controls for the surfactant‐assisted synthesis of mesoporous materials. High‐quality AOP and AlPO spheres with uniform mesopores were obtained at low and high temperatures, respectively. The aerosol‐assisted synthesis of materials with uniform mesopores was categorized by using the difference in relative density of soluble AOP and AlPO oligomers that interact with ethylene oxide (EO) units in EOnPOmEOn triblock copolymer (PO=propylene oxide). Then, ordered mesoporous structures are constructed with the adequate amount of species in resultant frameworks, and the number of interactive points in soluble species determines the resultant density of the frameworks after self‐assembly. Consequently, temperature‐dependent synthesis, which allows controlled infiltration of soluble species to match the density of resultant frameworks, is required for the formation of ordered mesoporous structures under morphological control.  相似文献

Uniformly sized molecularly imprinted polymers, which can recognize bisphenol A (BPA), have been prepared by a multi-step swelling and polymerization method using BPA or a structurally related analogue of BPA [p-t-octylphenol (OP) or p-t-butylphenol (BP)] as the template molecule, 4-vinylpyridine as the functional monomer, and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as the cross-linker. The BP-imprinted polymer showed higher molecular recognition ability for BPA than the OP-imprinted polymer. The BPA- and BP-imprinted polymers were applied for the assay of a trace amount of BPA in river water using column-switching HPLC with fluorescence detection: A BPA-imprinted polymer was used for removal of BPA from the pretreatment eluent as the trap column, and a BP-imprinted polymer was used for selective pretreatment and enrichment of BPA in river water as the pretreatment column. The calibration graph, constructed from peak area data plotted versus BPA concentration, was linear with a correlation coefficient of >0.999 in the concentration ranges of 25-1000 ppt. The limit of quantitation was 25 ppt with a 5-ml injection. The column-switching HPLC system was successfully applied for the assay of BPA in river water.  相似文献

The composition of sterols was determined in a cultured marine dinoflagellate Heterocapsa circularisquama. Ten kinds of the sterol in H. circularisquama were identified by capillary gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The major sterol was a 4-methyl sterol, 4alpha,23,24-trimethyl-5alpha-cholest-22E-en-3beta-ol (dinosterol) which is the common sterol in many dinoflagellates.  相似文献
