We put ammonia into an open-cage fullerene with a 20-membered ring ( 1) as the orifice and examined the properties of the complex using NMR and MALDI-TOF mass spectroscopy. The proton NMR shows a broad resonance corresponding to endohedral NH 3 at delta H = -12.3 ppm relative to TMS. This resonance was seen to narrow when a (14)N decoupling frequency was applied. MALDI spectroscopy confirmed the presence of both 1 ( m/ z = 1172) and 1 + NH 3 ( m/ z = 1189), and integrated intensities of MALDI peak trains and NMR resonances indicate an incorporation fraction of 35-50% under our experimental conditions. NMR observations showed a diminished incorporation fraction after 6 months of storage at -10 degrees C, which indicates that ammonia slowly escapes from the open-cage fullerene.  相似文献

In this paper we describe the formation and characterization of self-assembled monolayers of octadecylphosphonic acid (ODPA) on epitaxial (0001) GaN films on sapphire. By immersing the substrate in its toluene solution, ODPA strongly adsorbed onto UV/O 3-treated GaN to give a hydrophobic surface. Spectroscopic ellipsometry verified the formation of a well-packed monolayer of ODPA on the GaN substrate. In contrast, adsorption of other primarily substituted hydrocarbons (C n H 2 n+1 X; n = 16-18; X = -COOH, -NH 2, -SH, and -OH) offered less hydrophobic surfaces, reflecting their weaker interaction with the GaN substrate surfaces. A UV/O 3-treated N-polar GaN had a high affinity to the -COOH group in addition to ODPA, possibly reflecting the basic properties of the surface. These observations suggested that the molecular adsorption was primarily based on hydrogen bond interactions between the surface oxide layer on the GaN substrate and the polar functional groups of the molecules. The as-prepared ODPA monolayers were desorbed from the GaN substrates by soaking in an aqueous solution, particularly in a basic solution. However, ODPA monolayers heated at 160 degrees C exhibited suppressed desorption in acidic and neutral aqueous solution maybe due to covalent bond formation between ODPA and the surface. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy provided insight into the effect of the UV/O 3 treatment on the surface composition of the GaN substrate and also the ODPA monolayer formation. These results demonstrate that the surface of a GaN substrate can be tailored with organic molecules having an alkylphosphonic acid moiety for future sensor and device applications.  相似文献

Electroless gold island thin films are formed by galvanic replacement of silver reduced onto a tin-sensitized silica surface. A novel approach to create nanoparticle ensembles with tunable particle dimensions, densities, and distributions by thermal transformation of these electroless gold island thin films is presented. Deposition time is adjusted to produce monomodal ensembles of nanoparticles from 9.5 +/- 4.0 to 266 +/- 22 nm at densities from 2.6 x 1011 to 4.3 x 108 particles cm-2. Scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy reveal electroless gold island film structures as well as nanoparticle dimensions, densities, and distributions obtained by watershed analysis. Transmission UV-vis spectroscopy reveals photoluminescent features that suggest ultrathin EL films may be smoother than sputtered Au films. X-ray diffraction shows Au films have predominantly (111) orientation.  相似文献

A new class of luminescent alkynylplatinum(II) complexes of tridentate bis(N-alkylbenzimidazol-2'-yl)pyridines (bzimpy), [Pt(R,R'-bzimpy)(C[triple chemical bond]C-R')]X (X=PF(6), OTf), and one of their chloro precursor complexes, [Pt(R,R'-bzimpy)Cl]PF(6), have been synthesized and characterized; one of the alkynyl complexes has also been structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography. Electrochemical studies showed that the oxidation wave is alkynyl ligand-based in nature with some mixing of the metal center-based contribution, whereas the two quasi-reversible reduction couples are mainly bzimpy-based reductions. The electronic absorption and luminescence properties of the complexes have also been investigated. In solution, the high-energy and intense absorption bands are assigned as the pi-pi* intraligand (IL) transitions of the bzimpy and alkynyl ligands, whereas the low-energy and moderately intense absorptions are assigned to an admixture of metal-to-ligand charge-transfer (MLCT) (dpi(Pt)-->pi*(R,R'-bzimpy)) and ligand-to-ligand charge-transfer (LLCT) (pi(C[triple chemical bond]C-R')-->pi*(R,R'-bzimpy)) transitions. Upon variation of the electronic effects of the arylalkynyl ligands, vibronic-structured or structureless emission bands, originating from triplet metal-perturbed intraligand (IL) or an admixture of triplet metal-to-ligand charge-transfer (MLCT) and ligand-to-ligand charge-transfer (LLCT) excited states respectively, were observed in solution. Interestingly, two of the complexes showed a dual luminescence that was sensitive to the polarity of the solvents. Upon cooling from 298 K to 155 K, drastic color, UV/Vis, and luminescence changes were observed in a butyronitrile solution of 1, and were ascribed to the formation of aggregate species through PtPt and pi-pi stacking interactions. DFT and time-dependent DFT (TD-DFT) calculations have been performed to verify and elucidate the results of the electrochemical and photophysical properties.  相似文献

The ligands 11‐cyanodipyrido[3,2‐a:2′,3′‐c]phenazine and 2‐(11‐dipyrido[3,2‐a:2′,3′‐c]phenazine)‐5‐phenyl‐1,3,4‐oxadiazole have been coordinated to ReI, CuI, RuII and IrIII metal centres. Single‐crystal X‐ray analyses were performed on fac‐chlorotricarbonyl(11‐cyanodipyrido[3,2‐a:2′,3′‐c]phenazine)rhenium (C22H9ClN5O3Re, a=6.509(5), b=12.403(5), c=13.907(5) Å, α=96.88(5), β=92.41(5), γ=92.13(5)°, triclinic, P , Z=2) and bis‐2,2′‐bipyridyl(2‐(11‐dipyrido[3,2‐a:2′,3′‐c]phenazine)‐5‐phenyl‐1,3,4‐oxadiazole)ruthenium triflate ? 2 CH3CN (C52H36F6N12O8RuS2, a=10.601(5), b=12.420(5), c=20.066(5) Å, α=92.846(5), β=96.493(5), γ=103.720(5)°, triclinic, P , Z=2). The ground‐ and excited‐state properties of the ligands and complexes have been investigated with a range of techniques, including electrochemistry, absorption and emission spectroscopy, spectroelectrochemistry and excited‐state lifetime studies. Spectroscopic, time‐resolved and DFT studies reveal that the ligand‐centred (LC) transitions and their resultant excited states play an important role in the photophysical properties of the complexes. Evidence for the presence of lower‐lying metal‐to‐ligand charge‐transfer transitions is obtained from resonance Raman spectroscopy, but nanosecond transient Raman experiments suggest that once excited, the 3LC state is populated.  相似文献

Operation of any mass spectrometer requires implementation of mass calibration laws to translate experimentally measured physical quantities into a m/z range. While internal calibration in Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FT-ICR-MS) offers several attractive features, including exposure of calibrant and analyte ions to identical experimental conditions (e.g. space charge), external calibration affords simpler pulse sequences and higher throughput. The automatic gain control method used in hybrid linear trap quadrupole (LTQ) FT-ICR-MS to consistently obtain the same ion population is not readily amenable to matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) FT-ICR-MS, due to the heterogeneous nature and poor spot-to-spot reproducibility of MALDI. This can be compensated for by taking external calibration laws into account that consider magnetic and electric fields, as well as relative and total ion abundances. Herein, an evaluation of external mass calibration laws applied to MALDI-FT-ICR-MS is performed to achieve higher mass measurement accuracy (MMA).  相似文献

We have studied liquid/solid phase diagrams and water activities of the dicarboxylic acid/water binary systems for maleic, dl-malic, glutaric, and succinc acids using differential scanning calorimetry, infrared (IR) spectroscopy of thin films, and conductivity analysis of saturated solutions. For each binary system we report the measurements of the ice melting envelope, the acid dissolution envelope, and the ice/acid eutectic temperature and composition. Water activities have been determined by using the freezing point depression of ice. Additionally, an irreversible solid/solid phase transition for maleic acid was observed in both DSC and IR studies likely due to the conversion of a meta-stable crystal form of maleic acid to its most stable crystal form. In general we find good agreement with literature values for temperature-dependent acid solubilities.  相似文献

Irradiation of 2-(3-alkenyl)allenylphenyl azides in the presence of excess CuI furnished functionalized 2,3-cyclopentenylindoles in good yield with only trace amounts of competitive C-N-bonded regioisomeric products. These results represent a significant departure from the modest-to-nonexistent regioselectivity that attended thermal cyclization of these allenyl azide substrates.  相似文献
