Fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) of colloidal nanoparticles using a near-field fiber probe was numerically simulated. The near-wall dynamics was simulated by accounting for the anisotropic mobility of nanoparticles owing to hydrodynamic interaction with a wall (Stokes viscous force). By comparing the simulation results with theoretical model calculations, we found that the influence of anisotropic diffusion is insignificant in near-field FCS autocorrelation analysis.  相似文献

Broadband slow light is demonstrated by using stimulated Brillouin scattering in optical fibers based on a double Brillouin pump, the peaks of which are spectrally separated by twice the Brillouin frequency. The loss spectrum generated by one of the pump waves is fully compensated by the gain spectrum of the other one, which permits the enlargement of the bandwidth to 25 GHz and a variable time delay of up to 10.9 ps with 37 ps pulses.  相似文献

Background and Purpose

Influenza viral infection, which results in central nervous system dysfunction, is a major cause of acute encephalopathy (AE). The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes in the concentrations of brain metabolites in children with AE using single-voxel magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) and to provide diagnostic information about the relationship between the symptoms of AE and metabolite concentrations.

Materials and Methods

The subjects were 10 children (mean age: 6.2 years; range: 1–13) with AE caused by the novel influenza A virus responsible for the 2009 influenza pandemic. The serial MRS data (TE/TR=30/5000 ms, 3 T) acquired from the basal ganglia (BG) and centrum semiovale (CS) of each patient were categorized into three periods: (1) initial neurological symptom presentation and the start of treatment (n= 10), (2) short-term follow-up (n= 9) and (3) long-term follow-up (n= 3). As controls, the magnetic resonance (MR) spectra of eight age-matched children were also investigated.

Results

In both regions, the concentrations of the major metabolites (N-acetylaspartate, creatine, choline, myo-inositol, glutamate/glutamine complex and glutamate) only showed minor fluctuations between the three periods. On the other hand, higher levels of taurine (Tau) were observed in the BG during the second period (P=.005), and increased levels of glucose were observed in the CS during the first (P=.005) and second (P=.036) periods.

Conclusions

Serial monitoring of brain metabolite changes was carried out with a clinical MR system. The concentrations of major metabolites only displayed very minor fluctuations in response to mild H1N1-related AE. However, a higher Tau concentration was found to be associated with neurological symptoms. Further studies are required to improve our understanding of the detailed activity of Tau in AE.  相似文献

We have achieved a rapid and random wavelength tuned picosecond pulsed laser and a widely tunable UV-blue picosecond pulsed laser by using the intracavity second harmonic generation of the laser. The tuning range was from 384 to 434 nm with picosecond pulse oscillation. In addition, we demonstrated biological imaging using a fluorescent protein excited by the widely tunable UV-blue picosecond pulsed laser. We found that the laser is suitable for biological imaging using the fluorescent protein as an excitation light source without damages.  相似文献

Large nonlinear phase shifts were generated with femtosecond pulses at 1560 nm through cascaded quadratic interactions in periodically poled MgO-doped LiNbO3. The off-diagonal component of the nonlinear coefficient was utilized for simultaneous quasi phase matching and group-velocity matching. The effective nonlinear refractive index was varied from -2.9 x 10(-14) to +3.3 x 10(-14) cm2/W by tuning the phase-mismatch conditions.  相似文献

The role of o-bisguanidinobenzenes (BGBs) as new Brønsted base ligands for arsenic and phosphoric acids was examined. In solution state, complexation was evaluated by Job’s plot in 1H NMR experiment, indicating a 1:1 complex formation, whereas in solid state crystalline structures of complexes obtained were addressed by X-ray crystallographic analysis and/or solid state 13C NMR experiment, in which 1:2 complexes between the BGB and the acid components were normally formed. Based on these results, Merrifield and Hypogel® resin-anchored BGBs were designed and prepared as the corresponding polymer-supported host ligands. Evaluation of their coordination ability with metal salts (ZnCl2 and CoCl2) and arsenic acid in aqueous media by ICP-MS showed that the latter Hypogel® resin-anchored BGBs acted as effective immobilized base ligands.  相似文献

A SENSITIVE METHOD FOR DETERMINING CHLOROPHYLL b IN PLANT EXTRACTS   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Abstract— A new method of using hydroxylamine as the reagent was developed to determine the concentrations of chlorophylls a and b in plant extracts accurately and sensitively. The method is based on the principle that hydroxylamine reacts in a short time with the aldehyde group of chlorophyll b in 95 per cent methanol at pH 5.8 to afford a derivative having a red band similar in position to the red band of chlorophyll a , while the spectrum of chlorophyll a is unaffected by the treatment with hydroxylamine. The method includes the measurements of absorbanlce for the mixture of a plant extract with hydroxylamine and for the reagent blank at a single wavelength, 666 mμ, and the concentrations of chlorophylls a and b are calculated from the absorbance value for the reagent blank and the increment of absorbance due to the reaction. By measuring this increment directly by difference photometry, one can determine a low concentration of chlorophyll b relative to chlorophyll a . The contents of chlorophylls in matured and etiolated leaves were determined by the method, and the errors included in this method were shown to be smaller than those in a commonly used technique including the measurements at two different wavelengths.  相似文献

Highly enantioselective catalytic oxidation of 1‐tetralone‐derived β‐keto esters was achieved by using a guanidine–urea bifunctional organocatalyst in the presence of cumene hydroperoxide (CHP), a safe, commercially available oxidant. The α‐hydroxylation products were obtained in 99 % yield with up to 95 % enantiomeric excess (ee). The present oxidation was successfully applied to synthesize a key intermediate of the anti‐cancer agent daunorubicin ( 2 ).  相似文献
