Green's function for SH-waves in a cylindrically monoclinic material is considered for impulsive and time-harmonic sources. Closed form expressions for the Green's function are derived for a few limited values of anisotropic parameters. A very interesting time development of the wave front shape is illustrated and the wave front singularity is discussed for the transient SH-wave. We consider the system of elastostatics for an elastic medium consisting of an imperfection of small diameter, embedded in a homogeneous reference medium. The Lamé constants of the imperfection are different from those of the background medium. We establish a complete asymptotic formula for the displacement vector in terms of the reference Lamé constants, the location of the imperfection and its geometry. Our derivation is rigorous, and based on layer potential techniques. The asymptotic expansions in this paper are valid for an elastic imperfection with Lipschitz boundaries. In the course of derivation of the asymptotic formula, we introduce the concept of (generalized) elastic moment tensors (Pólya–Szegö tensor) and prove that the first order elastic moment tensor is symmetric and positive (negative)-definite. We also obtain estimation of its eigenvalue. We then apply these asymptotic formulas for the purpose of identifying with high precision the order of magnitude of the diameter of the elastic inclusion, its location, and its elastic moment tensors. 相似文献

In many countries, the labeling of grains, feed, and foodstuff is mandatory if the genetically modified (GM) organism content exceeds a certain level of approved GM varieties. We previously developed an individual kernel detection system consisting of grinding individual kernels, DNA extraction from the individually ground kernels, GM detection using multiplex real-time PCR, and GM event detection using multiplex qualitative PCR to analyze the precise commingling level and varieties of GM maize in real sample grains. We performed the interlaboratory study of the DNA extraction with multiple ground samples, multiplex real-time PCR detection, and multiplex qualitative PCR detection to evaluate its applicability, practicality, and ruggedness for the individual kernel detection system of GM maize. DNA extraction with multiple ground samples, multiplex real-time PCR, and multiplex qualitative PCR were evaluated by five laboratories in Japan, and all results from these laboratories were consistent with the expected results in terms of the commingling level and event analysis. Thus, the DNA extraction with multiple ground samples, multiplex real-time PCR, and multiplex qualitative PCR for the individual kernel detection system is applicable and practicable in a laboratory to regulate the commingling level of GM maize grain for GM samples, including stacked GM maize. 相似文献

The structure of 1,4-dithiines obtained from orthodihalogeno heterocycles with thiocarbonyl compounds was determined by X-ray structure analysis of the intermolecular charge-transfer complex between 5,7,12,14-tetramethoxydibenzo[b,i]thianthrene and TCNQ. The dimensional stability of regenerated cellulose film on swelling with water is discussed in relation to the biaxial orientation of the two kinds of structural units, cellulose II crystallites and noncrystalline chain segments, and their anisotropic swelling (anisotropic absorption of water). Considerable dimensional stability in the plane of the film but enormous instability of thickness on swelling in water of some commercial cellophanes is qualitatively interpreted in terms of the planar orientation of crystal (101) planes along the film surface and the orientation of the noncrystalline chain segments parallel to the film surface. The dimensional changes on swelling from the completely dry state to 10% moisture regain were further interpreted quantitatively in terms of the degrees of biaxial orientation of the two kinds of structural units and their degrees of anisotropic swelling by modifying the Hermans monophase model for crystalline and noncrystalline biphase structures. The following degrees of anisotropic swelling of the structural units were thus obtained: qc, [101] = 0.40%, qc, [101 ] = ?0.33%, and qa = 2.42%. 相似文献

We have investigated theoretically the Nernst effect in unconventional (d-wave) charge and spin density waves (UDW). In the presence of magnetic field, Landau levels are formed, and the gapless behaviour of the low energy excitations change into gapped behaviour. When additional electric field is applied, the quasiparticles drift with a velocity of E × B/B2, and carry entropy. From this, the Nernst coefficient can be calculated using the Kelvin relation. The present results account very nicely for the measured Nernst signal in the pseudogap phase of high Tc superconductor La2−xSrxCuO4 and Bi2Sr2−yLayCuO6. This indicates that the large Nernst effect is a clear signiture of UDW. 相似文献

The present article reports a new optical method for real time addition or subtraction of two photographic images. Two transparencies which are placed in the two arms of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer with two orthogonal polarizers are subsequently added or subtracted by rotating an analyser inserted in the output beam. The well-known Cagniard's technique seems very useful for analyzing the transient problem of an elastic body subjected to a moving load with uniform velocity, but, in the cases of non-uniform velocity it would be difficult to apply the technique directly to analyze the problem. For such cases, instead of the technique, the convolution theorem of the Laplace transform or the dynamic Betti-Rayleigh reciprocal theorem has been applied usefully by many authors.In this paper, an inversion scheme which enables us to apply the Cagniard's technique directly to those difficult problems is presented by solving the problem of a reciprocating anti-plane shear load applied to a layered elastic half space. In this treatment it will be found clearly that our technique is simpler and more systematic than any other techniques for solving the problem. We derive time dependent Ginzburg-Landau equations for strong coupling superconductors. It is shown that due to a certain separability of the order parameter the equation for it’s time dependent fluctuations is again of diffusion type. Strong coupling effects show up only in the numerical coefficients of the diffusion equation.
