We describe the deposition and characterization of Bi12SiO20 (bismuth silicon oxide; BSO) thin films on Y-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) and SiO2 glass substrates by pulsed-laser deposition (PLD) for the application of an electric field sensor. It was found that all films deposited on YSZ substrates heated at 400 °C and more were crystallized and the (310) plane was perpendicular to the substrate normal. The highly (310) oriented crystallized films were even deposited on SiO2 glass substrates, and this will make it possible to grow the crystallized films on the end surface of a SiO2 glass fiber.  相似文献

ZnO nano-rods synthesized by nano-particle-assisted pulsed-laser deposition   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
We succeeded in synthesizing ZnO nanorods by nanoparticle assisted pulsed-laser deposition (PLD) without using any catalyst where nanoparticles formed by condensation of ablated particles play an important role. The nanorods have an average size of about 120 nm. Stimulated emission was observed from ZnO nanorods at 388 nm by optical pumping. Thin films of LiNbO3 were deposited by pulsed-laser deposition (PLD). Crystalline and transparent films were deposited on a sapphire substrate at 400 °C, in 100 mTorr of oxygen, with a fluence lower than 1.2 J/cm2. Droplet free films were deposited with low ablation laser fluence by the eclipse method, and waveguide losses were 15.9 dB/cm and 3.1 dB/cm. Subsequently, second-harmonic generation (SHG) was achieved by waveguide mode phase matching. A gold thin film was machined by laser ablation using a femtosecond laser with mask patterns in the shape of lines and numbers. The patterns were successfully transferred with proper focusing and laser fluence. The optimal femtosecond laser fluence to keep the line width was about 5.2 mJ/cm2 on the mask, and 99 mJ/cm2 on the film. The processing resolution was 13 μm, and the narrowest line width was about 4 μm.  相似文献

Endoscopic Observation of Tissue by Narrowband Illumination   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6  
We propose a new illumination method for a medical endoscope: narrow band imaging (NBI), in which the spectral bandwidth of the filtered light is narrowed. To confirm how the spectral specifications of the filtered light influence a reproduced image, an experiment was conducted observing the endoscopic images of the back mucosa of a human tongue. In addition, the effect of NBI on endoscopic images was investigated through preliminary clinical tests in colonoscopy and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. It has been shown that NBI can enhance the capillary pattern and the crypt pattern on the mucosa. These patterns are useful features for diagnosing an early cancer.  相似文献

Objective assessment of gastrointestinal mucosal color is extremely important in the endoscopic diagnosis of digestive tract disease. In this paper, we propose a method to clarify the spectral characteristics of gastric and colon cancer. A large number of spectral reflectance data of mucous membrane are measured by the endoscopic spectroscopy system (ESS) in the National Cancer Center Hospital East, Kashiwa, Japan and the Department of Internal Medicine, Self-Defense Force Center Hospital, Tokyo, Japan. We assume that early cancer appears primarily in the spectral data of short wavelength, because it is usually present in a superficial cell where short wavelength light is scattered more strongly than long wavelength light. To identify the features in the short wavelength components, the spectral reflectance was divided by the reflectance of a long wavelength. We investigated the possibility of distinguishing early cancer from normal spectral data through statistical analysis, employing the projection axis as the mean difference between them. Early cancer and normal spectral data were projected on the projection axis, and the Student’s T-test was applied to evaluate the mean of the distribution between these data.  相似文献

Mesoscopic nanomaterials with a size ranging from a few nanometers to hundreds of nanometers were generated on a metallic thin film by interfering femtosecond (fs) laser processing. Because the nanomaterials seemed to demonstrate liquid behavior, we named their structure nano water drop. The structure is considerably similar to that of a real water drop observed with a high-speed camera. Using the phase shift between interfering beams, a duplicate structure was generated. This is a new surface modification technique, using a top-down approach.  相似文献

The oxide ionic conductivity measurements of singly and doubly doped ceria compounds were carried out. Singly and doubly doped ceria used in this study were Ce0.8Ln0.2O1.9 (Ln=Y, Sm, Nd, or La) and Ce0.8La0.1Y0.1O1.9, respectively. Lattice constants of these compounds were in proportion to the ionic radius of the dopant(s). The doubly doped ceria compound showed oxide ionic conductivity comparative to the average of that of each corresponding singly doped sample. This finding indicates that the conductivity is influenced by both dopants in the doubly doped compounds. The extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) study showed that the coordination number of oxide ions at the nearest neighbor of cation was related to the ionic conductivity. It was found that the conductivity gave the highest value when oxygen vacancies were randomly distributed in the lattice. This indicates that the local structure seriously affects oxide ionic conduction in singly and doubly doped ceria compounds.  相似文献
