The tandem and stepwise Staudinger/aza-Wittig reactions of several azides were examined in detail. The tandem reaction method (Method I) exhibited superior results in the yield of the corresponding isothiocyanates bearing an electron-withdrawing group than the conventional stepwise method (Method II) which involves the sequential treatment of the azides with triphenylphosphine and then carbondisulfide. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the bitterness-suppressing effect of L-ornithine (L-Orn) on single or mixed solutions of branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) using human gustatory sensation tests and an artificial taste sensor. The BCAAs tested (L-isoleucine (L-Ile), L-leucine (L-Leu), and L-valine (L-Val)) are the main components of various enteral nutrients or supplements. The bitterness-suppression effect of L-Orn was also compared with the effect of L-Arg. L-Orn was effective in suppressing the bitterness of single or mixed solutions of BCAAs in human gustatory sensation tests, the effect being similar to or greater than that of L-Arg. The artificial taste sensor was able to predict the bitterness-suppressing effects of L-Orn and L-Arg. The response electric potential patterns of L-Val, L-Leu and L-Ile solutions to which 100 mM L-Arg had been added were quite similar to the sensor response patterns of the 100 mM L-Arg solutions alone. The relative response electric potential patterns of L-Val, L-Leu or L-Ile solutions containing 100 mM L-Orn in channels 5-8 (positively charged) are similar to that of single solution of 100 mM L-Orn. 相似文献

Three new type indoloditerpenes, emindoles PA (1), PB (2), and PC (3), were isolated from the mycelium of Emericella purpurea along with the sesterterpenes variecolol and variecolactone, and the dicyanide derivatives epurpurins A to C. The structures of 1-3 were confirmed by the spectroscopic investigation. The structure of emindoles PA (1) was revised from our preliminary report. Generation of X-ray induced secondary electrons in Ti and TiO2 was studied from both experimental and theoretical approaches, using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) attached to a synchrotron radiation facility and Monte Carlo simulation, respectively.The experiment revealed that the yields of secondary electrons induced by X-rays (electrons/photon) at photon energies to 4950 and 5000 eV for Ti and TiO2 are δTi(4950 eV) = 0.002 and δTi(5000 eV) = 0.014 while those for TiO2 are δTiO2(4950 eV)=0.003 and δTiO2(5000 eV)=0.018.A novel approach to obtain the escape depth of secondary electrons has been proposed and applied to Ti and TiO2. The approach agreed very well with the experimental data reported so far. We have developed a new time-resolved fluorometric (TRF) microarray detection system consisting of fluorescent NH2 nanosphere, TRF microarray detector and gamma-irradiated polystyrene chip. Using the TRF microarray detector, we detected 500 particles of the fluorescent nanosphere in one channel. Cross-talk fluorescence from the adjacent channels was little observed in the TRF microarray detector (<0.0004 %). The TRF microarray detection system was further applied for serum allergen-specific immunoglobulin E (IgE) multi-analyses. As a labeled tag antibody, an anti-human IgE Fab’ fragment-conjugated fluorescent nanosphere (Fab’ nanosphere) was prepared as described previously. As a chip surface appropriate for allergen immobilization, the polystyrene chip surface was modified by gamma irradiation. The immunoassay reactivity using the gamma-irradiated polystyrene chip was approximately 2.5-times improved compared with that of the non-treated polystyrene chip. Non-specific adsorption of the Fab’ nanosphere onto the gamma-irradiated polystyrene chip surface was very low level (<0.0009 %). In only 20 μl of serum, six allergen-specific IgEs could be simultaneously determined in one reaction well in fewer than 90 min. Good correlation curves were obtained between the microarray immunoassay and the CAP RAST fluoro-enzyme immunoassay (CAP/RAST FEIA) method (r>0.961). The preparation of new thalidomide derivatives 4-methyl-(3S,4R)-3a and 4-phenyl-(3S,4S)-3b starting from pyroglutamic acids (2R,3R)-7a and (2R,3S)-7b, possessing an inappropriate stereochemistry, was successfully realized due to stereochemically complete epimerization at the alpha-stereogenic center upon formation of the corresponding N-phthaloyl anhydrides 9a,b. The demonstrated conformational stability of these new thalidomide derivatives provides solid experimental evidence for practical feasibility of the approach described here to overcome the inherent problem of configurational instability of thalidomide by introducing an alkyl or aryl group in the C4 position. A surface-wave sensor based on the resonant transmission characteristics of metal hole arrays is demonstrated in the terahertz (THz) region. Since the frequency of the transmission peak of a metal hole array, which corresponds to the resonant frequency of the surface waves, is particularly sensitive to the refractive index in the vicinity of the metal surface, a very small change in the substances attached to the surface can be detected by monitoring the transmission spectrum. By attaching a layer of substance (thickness t < 5 microm) much thinner than the wavelength of the THz wave (lambda(THz) = 1 mm at 0.3 THz) to the surface of a metal hole array, we demonstrated that the existence of such a small amount of substance can be detected more easily than without the metal hole array. This demonstration of THz sensing with metal hole arrays indicates the possibility of realizing THz surface-wave sensors for biochemical molecules in the THz region. 相似文献

A Lamb wave interdigital transducer mounted on a layered substrate composed of two plates, a thin piezoelectric ceramic plate and an acrylic plate, operating at a liquid-solid boundary, is investigated for ultrasonic nondestructive testing of the layer thickness in human teeth. A higher-order mode having a phase velocity higher than the longitudinal wave velocity in the human teeth can be used for nondestructive testing. In the combination of the two layers, the fourth mode of leaky Lamb wave is most favorable for a frequency-controllable radiation angle of an ultrasound beam into a water layer as an acoustic coupler. In the configuration of an acoustic delay line, the layer-thickness measurement in vivo, evaluated from the time interval between two reflected ultrasound echoes, is successfully realized under a thin water layer as the acoustic coupler. 相似文献
