Eu-doped GaN with various Eu concentrations were grown by gas source molecular beam epitaxy, and their structural and optical properties were investigated. With increasing Eu concentration from 0.1 to 2.2 at%, deterioration of the structural quality was observed by reflection high-energy electron diffraction, atomic force microscopy and X-ray diffraction. Such a deterioration may be caused by an enhancement of island growth and formation of dislocations. On the other hand, room temperature photoluminescence spectra showed red emission at 622 nm due to an intra-atomic f–f transition of Eu3+ ion and Fourier transform infrared spectra indicated an absorption peak at about 0.37 eV, which may be due to a deep defect level. The intensity of the red luminescence and the defect-related absorption peak increased with increasing Eu concentration, and a close correlation in the increasing behavior was observed between them. These results suggest that the deep defect level plays an important role in the radiative transition of Eu3+ ion in GaN and the optical process for the luminescence at 622 nm was discussed with relation to the defect.  相似文献

Double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) templates can hybridize to and accelerate cleavage of oligonucleotides containing a P3'→N5' phosphoramidate (P-N) linkage. This dsDNA-templated cleavage of P-N linkages could be due to conformational strain placed on the linkage upon triplex formation. To determine whether duplex formation also induced conformational strain, we examined the reactivity of the oligonucleotides with a P-N linkage in the presence of single-stranded templates, and compared these reactions to those with dsDNA templates. P-N oligonucleotides that are cleaved upon duplex formation could be used as probes to detect single-stranded nucleic acids.  相似文献

Comb-like copolymer of N-phenyl maleimide and n-octadecyl vinyl ether was synthesized by conventional free radical solution polymerization. The molecular weight and molecular weight distribution were measured by GPC. The chemical composition of copolymer was characterized by FT-IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR, and the results indicated that the obtained copolymer contained much more content of N-phenyl maleimide rather than equal molar ratio of monomer unit. The comb-like copolymer can exhibit upper critical solution temperature thermoresponsive phase behavior reversibly in N,N-dimethylformamide and some proper alcohols such as 1-butanol, 1-hexanol, etc. The effect of polymer concentration and co-solvent on thermoresponsive behavior of polymer solution was investigated, and the cloud point of polymer solution can be tuned conveniently. The high resolution 1H NMR method was used to comprehend the reversible thermoresponsive behavior in molecular level, and the results revealed that as temperature decreased the pendent long alkyl side chain aggregated and phase separation occurred at cloud point temperature; however, the mobility of main polymer chain decreased at lower temperature.  相似文献

Helical polymer brushes with a preferred-handed helix-sense composed of a poly(phenylacetylene) backbone and poly(phenyl isocyanate) pendants are synthesized. A new type of Pt-complex-bound amino acid was synthesized by condensation of a cyclometalated Pt complex with the side-chain residue of N- and C-alkylated glutamic acid. Self-assembly of the Pt-bound lipophilic amino acid afforded a supramolecular gel in organic solvents, which comprised fibrous lamellar aggregates that supported a highly oriented Pt array.  相似文献

Flocks of birds and schools of fish are familiar examples of spatial patterns formed by living organisms. In contrast to the patterns on the skins of, say, zebras and giraffes, the patterns of our interest are transient although different patterns change over different timescales. The aesthetic beauty of these patterns has attracted the attention of poets and philosophers for centuries. Scientists from various disciplines, however, are in search of common underlying principles that give rise to the transient patterns in colonies of organisms. Such patterns are observed not only in colonies of organisms as simple as single-cell bacteria, but also in social insects like ants and termites. They are also observed in colonies of vertebrates as complex as birds and fish, and in human societies. In recent years, physicists have utilized the framework of statistical physics to understand these patterns. In this article, we present an overview emphasizing the common trends that rely on theoretical modeling of these systems using the so-called agent-based Lagrangian approach.  相似文献

Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) is shown to be capable of imaging a monolayer of graphene, and is employed to observe in situ the graphene growth process by segregation of bulk-dissolved carbon on a polycrystalline nickel surface. Because of a wide field of view, SEM could easily track the rapid graphene growth induced by carbon segregation. Monolayer graphene extended on (111)- and (011)-oriented nickel grains, but was excluded from the (001) grains. This is due to the difference in carbon-nickel binding energy among these crystalline faces. This work proves the usefulness of in situ SEM imaging for the investigation of large area graphene growth.  相似文献

From detailed angle-resolved NMR and Meissner measurements on a ferromagnetic (FM) superconductor UCoGe (T(Curie)~2.5 K and T(SC)~0.6 K), we show that superconductivity in UCoGe is tightly coupled with longitudinal FM spin fluctuations along the c axis. We found that magnetic fields along the c axis (H∥c) strongly suppress the FM fluctuations and that the superconductivity is observed in the limited magnetic-field region where the longitudinal FM spin fluctuations are active. These results, combined with model calculations, strongly suggest that the longitudinal FM spin fluctuations tuned by H∥c induce the unique spin-triplet superconductivity in UCoGe. This is the first clear example that FM fluctuations are intimately related with superconductivity.  相似文献

We perform the optical constants measurements for different absorption dense media by low-coherence dynamic light scattering (DLS) technique. The estimated particle size is used to calculate the scattering coefficient of particles suspended in dense media. The path-length resolved intensity distributions of light backscattered from the absorbing dense media are investigated experimentally by virtue of path-length resolved performance in low-coherence DLS measurements. The absorption coefficient can be obtained by applying the measured path-length resolved intensity distributions to the modified Lambert-Beer law. As a result, we proposed a new low-coherence DLS technique in simultaneous measurement of the scattering and absorption coefficients of absorbing dense media.  相似文献
