Building blocks for conducting polymers or NLO materials are the linear, unsaturated carbon chain bridged manganese complexes 1 n+ (n=0–2). All oxidation states were investigated spectroscopically and by X-ray structure determinations. The analytical data confirm a communication of the electrons over the C4 chain—a prerequisite for electrical conductivity and NLO properties of oligo- or polymeric materials.  相似文献

The application of homogenization methods to compute the macroscopic material response of metal matrix composites is a possibility to save memory and computation time in comparison to full field simulations. This paper deals with a method to extend the self-consistent scheme from linear elasticity theory to nonlinear problems. The idea is to approximate the nonlinear problem by an incrementally linear one. Since time discretization of the deformation process implies a certain linearization, we use the algorithmic consistent tangent operator of the composite for defining the linear comparison material in each time step. Tetrakis(p‐tolyl)oxalamidinato‐bis[acetylacetonatopalladium(II)] ([Pd2(acac)2(oxam)]) reacted with Li–C≡C–C6H5 in THF with formation of [Pd(C≡C–C6H5)4Li2(thf)4] ( 1a ). Reaction of [Pd2(acac)2(oxam)] with a mixture of 6 equiv. Li–C≡C–C6H5 and 2 equiv. LiCH3 resulted in the formation of [Pd(CH3)(C≡C–C6H5)3Li2(thf)4] ( 2 ), and the dimeric complex [Pd2(CH3)4(C≡C–C6H5)4Li4(thf)6] ( 3 ) was isolated upon reaction of [Pd2(acac)2(oxam)] with a mixture of 4 equiv. Li–C≡C–C6H5 and 4 equiv. LiCH3. 1 – 3 are extremely reactive compounds, which were isolated as white needles in good yields (60–90%). They were fully characterized by IR, 1H‐, 13C‐, 7Li‐NMR spectroscopy, and by X‐ray crystallography of single crystals. In these compounds Li ions are bonded to the two carbon atoms of the alkinyl ligand. 1a reacted with Pd(PPh3)4 in the presence of oxygen to form the already known complexes trans‐[Pd(C≡C–C6H5)2(PPh3)2] and [Pd(η2‐O2)(PPh3)2]. In addition, 1a is an active catalyst for the Heck coupling reaction, but less active in the catalytic Sonogashira reaction.  相似文献

The synthesis of two series of peptidic chains composed of bis(terpyridine)ruthenium(II) acceptor units and organic chromophores (coumarin, naphthalene, anthracene, fluorene) by stepwise solid‐phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) techniques is described. The first series of dyads comprises directly amide linked chromophores, while the second one possesses a glycine spacer between the two chromophores. All dyads were studied by UV/Vis and NMR spectroscopy, steady‐state luminescence, luminescence decay and electrochemistry, as well as by DFT calculations. The results of these studies indicate weak electronic coupling of the chromophores in the ground state. Absorpion spectra of all dyads are dominated by metal‐to‐ligand charge‐transfer (MLCT) bands around 500 nm. The bichromophoric systems, especially with coumarin as organic chromophore, display additional strong absorptions in the visible spectral region. All complexes are luminescent at room temperature (3MLCT). Efficient quenching of the fluorescence of the organic chromophore by the attached ruthenium complex is observed in all dyads. Excitation spectra indicate energy transfer from the organic dye to the ruthenium chromophore.  相似文献

Translation of specific small peptides on the ribosome can confer resistance to macrolide antibiotics. To reveal the molecular details of this and related phenomena, stable RNA–peptide conjugates that mimic peptidyl‐tRNA would be desirable, especially for ribosome structural biology. A flexible solid‐phase synthesis strategy now allows efficient access to these highly requested derivatives without restriction on the RNA and peptide sequences.

The separation of complex peptide mixtures in shotgun proteome analysis using a 2D separation scheme encompassing reversed-phase × ion-pair reversed-phase (IP-RP) liquid chromatography coupled online to electrospray ion trap mass spectrometry (MS) has been shown earlier to be superior in terms of separation efficiency and technical robustness compared to the classically used separation scheme encompassing strong cation exchange × IP-RP-chromatography in shotgun proteome analysis. In the present study, this novel separation scheme was coupled offline to matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) time-of-flight (TOF)/TOF-MS for the analysis of the same sample, a tryptic digest of the cytosolic proteome of the bacterium Corynebacterium glutamicum. Compared to the earlier study, the MALDI-based platform led to a significantly increased number of peptides (7,416 vs. 2,709) and proteins (1,208 vs. 468, without single peptide-based identifications), respectively. This represents the majority of all predicted cytosolic proteins in C. glutamicum. The high proteome coverage, as well as the large number of low-abundant proteins identified with this improved analytical platform, pave the way for new biological studies. Polymeric scaffolds serve as valuable supports for biological cells since they offer essential features for guiding cellular organization and tissue development. The main challenges for scaffold fabrication are i) to tune an internal structure and ii) to load bio‐molecules such as growth factors and control their local concentration and distribution. Here, a new approach for the design of hollow polymeric scaffolds using porous CaCO3 particles (cores) as templates is presented. The cores packed into a microfluidic channel are coated with polymers employing the layer‐by‐layer (LbL) technique. Subsequent core elimination at mild conditions results in formation of the scaffold composed of interconnected hollow polymer microspheres. The size of the cores determines the feature dimensions and, as a consequence, governs cellular adhesion: for 3T3 fibroblasts an optimal microsphere size is 12 μm. By making use of the carrier properties of the porous CaCO3 cores, the microspheres are loaded with BSA as a model protein. The scaffolds developed here may also be well suited for the localized release of bio‐molecules using external triggers such as IR‐light.

Coupling of uronium salts with in situ generated N-heterocyclic carbenes provides straightforward access to symmetrical [4](2+) and unsymmetrical bis-imidazolium salts [6](2+) and [9](2+) . As indicated by cyclic and square-wave voltammetry, [6](2+) and [9](2+) can be (irreversibly) reduced by one electron. The initially formed radicals [6](.+) and [9](.+) undergo further reactions, which were probed by EPR spectroscopy and density functional calculations. The final products of the two-electron reduction are the two carbenes. Upon irradiation with UV light both [6](2+) and [9](2+) emit at room temperature in solution but with dramatically different characteristics. The different fluorescence behavior is analyzed by emission spectroscopy and interpreted by using time-dependent density functional calculations as largely due to different excited-state dynamics of [6](2+) and [9](2+) . The geometries of both radicals [6](.+) and [9](.+) and excited states {[6](2+) }* and {[9](2+) }* are substantially different from those of the parent ground-state molecules.  相似文献
