Decomposition of carbon tetrachloride in a RF thermal plasma reactor was investigated in argon atmosphere. The net conversion of CCl4 and the main products of its decomposition were determined from the mass spectrometric analysis of outlet gases. Flow and temperature profiles in the reactor were calculated and concentration profiles of the species along the axis of the reactor were estimated using a newly developed chemical kinetic mechanism, containing 12 species and 34 reaction steps. The simulations indicated that all carbon tetrachloride decomposed within a few microseconds. However, CCl4 was partly recombined from its decomposition products. The calculations predicted 70\% net conversion of CCl4, which was close to the experimentally determined value of 60\%. A thermodynamic equilibrium model also simulated the decomposition. Results of the kinetic and thermodynamic simulations agreed well above 2000 K. However, below 2000 K the thermodynamic equilibrium model gave wrong predictions. Therefore, application of detailed kinetic mechanisms is recommended for modeling CCl4 decomposition under thermal plasma conditions.  相似文献

One-bond heteronuclear and two-bond homonuclear residual dipolar couplings measured at methylene or amine sites can be utilized as long-range constraints in structure determination of molecules as well as to facilitate characterization of local conformation by stereospecific assignment of diastereotopic protons. We present two J-modulated HMQC type experiments to measure the one-bond heteronuclear dipolar coupling contributions of geminal protons individually. In addition two-bond homonuclear residual dipolar couplings between the diastereotopic protons are also obtained.  相似文献

A grating-coupled planar optical waveguide sensor is presented for sensing of bacteria by evanescent waves. The waveguide design results in increased depth of penetration into the sample volume, which makes it suitable for detecting micrometer-sized biological objects. We tested the sensor's performance by monitoring the adhesion of Escherichia coli K12 cells to the sensor surface.  相似文献

Skeletal and cardiac muscle contains actin isoforms that vary by two juxtaposed amino acids and two amino acid substitutions (Met299Leu and Ser358Thr). This close sequence homology does not allow cardiac and skeletal actin isoforms to be resolved in traditional SDS-PAGE analysis as the molecular weights (Deltamass = 32 Da) are not significantly different and the pIs are identical (5.2). Although cardiac actin is the predominant form in cardiac muscle, there appears to be a specific skeletal/cardiac actin ratio in a normal heart that may vary in a compromised or diseased heart. In an effort to ascertain the validity of this hypothesis we developed a mass spectrometric technique to measure the ratio of skeletal to cardiac actin. The technique involves purification of muscle actin and subsequent liquid chromatography coupled with electrospray ionization Fourier transform ion cylcotron resonance (LC/FTICR-MS) mass spectrometry. A 7 Tesla FTICR mass spectrometer was utilized to compare skeletal/cardiac actin isoform ratios. Additionally, a new dual electrospray ionization source was employed to determine accurate masses of the alpha-skeletal and alpha-cardiac actins.  相似文献

An efficient resolution method was elaborated for the preparation of (+)‐4‐chloro‐5‐methyl‐1‐phenyl‐1,2,3,6‐tetrahydrophosphinine oxide using the acidic Ca2+ salt of (–)‐O,O‐di‐p‐toluoyl‐(2R,3R)‐tartaric acid. Crystal structure of the diastereomeric complex was evaluated by single crystal X‐ray analysis. Beside this, the absolute P‐configuration was also determined by a circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopic study including theoretical calculations. The tetrahydrophosphinine oxide was then converted to the corresponding platinum complex whose stereostructure was investigated by high‐level quantum chemical calculations. The Pt complex was tested as a catalyst in the hydroformylation of styrene.  相似文献

Today sub-2 μm packed columns are very popular to conduct fast chromatographic separations. The mass-transfer resistance depends on the particle size but some practical limits exist not to reach the theoretically expected plate height and mass-transfer resistance. Another approach applies particles with shortened diffusion path to enhance the efficiency of separations. In this study a systematical evaluation of the possibilities of the separations obtained with 5 cm long narrow bore columns packed with new 2.6 μm shell particles (1.9 μm nonporous core surrounded by a 0.35 μm porous shell, Kinetex™, Core-Shell), packed with other shell-type particles (Ascentis Express™, Fused-Core), totally porous sub-2 μm particles and a 5 cm long narrow bore monolith column is presented. The different commercially available columns were compared by using van Deemter, Knox and kinetic plots. Theoretical Poppe plots were constructed for each column to compare their kinetic performance. Data are presented on polar neutral real-life analytes. Comparison of a low molecular weight compounds (MW = 270–430) and a high molecular weight one (MW ∼ 900) was conducted. This study proves that the Kinetex column packed with 2.6 μm shell particles is worthy of rivaling to sub-2 μm columns and other commercially available shell-type packings (Ascentis Express or Halo), both for small and large molecule separation. The Kinetex column offers a very flat C term. Utilizing this feature, high flow rates can be applied to accomplish very fast separations without significant loss in efficiency.  相似文献

The decidability of the logic of pure ticket entailment means that the problem of inhabitation of simple types by combinators over the base { B, B′, I, W } is decidable too. Type-assignment systems are often formulated as natural deduction systems. However, our decision procedure for this logic, which we presented in earlier papers, relies on two sequent calculi and it does not yield directly a combinator for a theorem of ${T_\to}$ . Here we describe an algorithm to extract an inhabitant from a sequent calculus proof—without translating the proof into another proof system.  相似文献
