Investigations have been made on the electro-optic modulation of a laser beam using Bragg reflection from holographic gratings stored in a Cu-diffused LiNbO3 plate. A new device configuration is proposed which makes it possible to use the holographic recording characteristics of LiNbO3 more effectively than previous other devices. A modulation of about 50% with a 45° deflection angle was obtained at an applied voltage of 500 V. 相似文献

Some holographic recording characteristics of Cu-diffused layers fabricated in Rh-doped LiNbO3 have been examined in comparison with those fabricated in undoped lithium niobate.The diffusion layers, whose thickness depends on the diffusion temperature, are found to be enormously susceptible to optically-induced refractive index changes and to be able to attain a high diffraction efficiency. Hydrogen sulfide (H(2)S) has recently been identified as a biological response modifier. Here, we report the design and synthesis of a novel fluorescence probe for H(2)S, HSip-1, utilizing azamacrocyclic copper(II) ion complex chemistry to control the fluorescence. HSip-1 showed high selectivity and high sensitivity for H(2)S, and its potential for biological applications was confirmed by employing it for fluorescence imaging of H(2)S in live cells. 相似文献

Chemical modification of sugars and nucleosides has a long history of producing compounds with improved selectivity and efficacy. In this study, several modified sugars (2–3) and ribonucleoside analogs (4–8) have been synthesized from α-d-glucose in a total of 21 steps. The compounds were tested for peripheral anti-nociceptive characteristics in the acetic acid-induced writhing assay in mice, where compounds 2, 7, and 8 showed a significant reduction in the number of writhes by 56%, 62%, and 63%, respectively. The compounds were also tested for their cytotoxic potential against human HeLa cell line via trypan blue dye exclusion test followed by cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) assay. Compound 6 demonstrated significant cytotoxic activity with an IC50 value of 54 µg/mL. Molecular docking simulations revealed that compounds 2, 7, and 8 had a comparable binding affinity to cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzymes. Additionally, the bridged nucleoside analogs 7 and 8 potently inhibited adenosine kinase enzyme as well, which indicates an alternate mechanistic pathway behind their anti-nociceptive action. Cytotoxic compound 6 demonstrated strong docking with cancer drug targets human cytidine deaminase, proto-oncogene tyrosine-protein kinase Src, human thymidine kinase 1, human thymidylate synthase, and human adenosine deaminase 2. Ca3Co4O9/Ag composites incorporating different amounts of Ag were synthesized by solid-state reaction. Scanning electron microscopy revealed Ag particles dispersed among and combined with Ca3Co4O9 grains several times larger in size. The electrical resistivity (ρ) of the composites is favorably lower than that of Ca3Co4O9 alone and decreases with increasing Ag content. It can thus be inferred that the highly conductive Ag particles between the oxide grains contribute to the reduction of ρ. Although minimal in smaller amounts, the addition of Ag also seems to have a negative impact on the Seebeck coefficient (S) of the composites due to its poor S. Since the reduction of ρ is more significant than the degradation of S, the power factor is found to be improved by the addition of 10 wt% Ag. 相似文献
