The influence of mobile phase composition (acetonitrile-water ratio) on the separation of derivatised linear alkyl polyethoxylates (LAEs) is evaluated using thermodynamic quantities (Gibbs energy, enthalpy and entropy). In comparison to homologue series of alcohols oligomers of LAEs show irregular chromatographic behaviour that is demonstrated in irregular changes of thermodynamic quantities. It might be explained considering an influence of some of the following processes or their combinations on the retention of LAEs. These processes are solvation of oxyethylene chains in mobile phase, their interaction with silanols on silica surface of stationary phase and possibly their conformation changes. The composition of a mobile phase affects the mentioned processes and that is why the retention of LAEs is strongly (for the reversed-phase system unusually) sensitive to this composition in the studied range (volume fraction of acetonitrile phi = 0.90, 0.96 and 0.98). This paper reports the results from a study of the effects of particles on the boundary layer characteristics for cross flow over a single circular cylinder in the near separation region and on a cylinder located in the second row of a small mock-up heat exchanger array. Two size ranges of particles (45–85 m and 100–200 m) with two concentrations were used for the single cylinder tests. For the array, the larger particles were used at a single concentration. For the single cylinder, the results with the larger particles at mass loading ratio of 1.0 show an obvious effect on the velocity profile shape and on the rms levels. For reduced concentrations, and for the smaller particles, the effects are less noticeable. For the array, similar trends are observed and a delay in the separation point is reported. 相似文献
A sonic spray ionization liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/SSI-MS) procedure combined with off-line solid-phase extraction was optimized for the analysis of 20 endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) in water samples. Method development included a comparison of the novel sonic spray ionization (SSI) with more traditional ion sources, i.e. pneumatically assisted electrospray ionization (ESI) and atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI). It was demonstrated that SSI and ESI spectra were very similar, but were more prone to the formation of solvent cluster ions as compared with APCI spectra. This phenomenon was most prominent for SSI and resulted in an increased chemical background in full-scan mass spectra. However, this chemical noise did not affect the overall sensitivity of SSI and ESI. After optimization of LC and MS parameters, the LC/SSI-MS method was validated. Recoveries ranged from 76.3 up to 113.4% for all compounds. Limits of detection (LOD) and quantitation (LOQ) were established between 3.0 and 11.5 ng/L and 9.9 and 38.0 ng/L, respectively. Within-day (n = 5) and between-day (n = 5) reproducibility were investigated at three levels and ranged from 3.3-16.5% and 7.6-19.2%, respectively. Eight-point calibration curves were established and showed linearity for all compounds (r(2) > 0.987) over a linear dynamic range of 10-10 000 ng/L. 相似文献
The dynamics of gel isoelectric focusing were studied by using amphoteric low-molecular-mass colored substances (isoelectric point markers). The polyacrylamide gel in slab format was in direct contact with the electrodes. In addition to isoelectric focusing with a pH gradient composed of synthetic carrier ampholytes, pH gradients created by simple buffers of acetic acid, 2-(N-morpholino)ethanesulfonic acid, histidine and N,N,N',N'-tetramethylethylenediamine were applied. The progress of the electrofocusing process was monitored by a charge-coupled device camera and video recording. The gradient profile and dynamics were approximated from the positions of isoelectric point markers, which were focused both on boundaries between individual zones of simple buffers and within the zones themselves. The obtained animated records enabled the observation of the entire real focusing run within fractions of a minute, which is useful both for the understanding and optimization of the focusing. 相似文献
The photodissociation of N(2)O at wavelengths near 130 nm has been investigated by velocity-mapped product imaging. In all, five dissociation channels have been detected, leading to the following products: O((1)S)+N(2)(X (1)Sigma), N((2)D)+NO(X (2)Pi), N((2)P)+NO(X (2)Pi), O((3)P) + N(2)(A (3)Sigma(+) (u)), and O((3)P) + N(2)(B (3)Pi(g)). The most significant channel is to the products O((1)S) + N(2)(X(1)Sigma), with strong vibrational excitation in the N(2). The O((3)P) + N(2)(A,B):N((2)D,(2)P) + NO branching ratio is measured to be 1.4 +/- 0.5, while the N(2)(A) + O((3)P(J)):N(2)(B) + O((3)P(J)) branching ratio is determined to be 0.84+/-0.09. The spin-orbit distributions for the O((3)P(J)), N((2)P(J)), and N((2)D(J)) products were also determined. The angular distributions of the products are in qualitative agreement with excitation to the N(2)O(D (1)Sigma(+)) state, with participation as well by the (3)Pi(v) state. 相似文献
The imidazole nucleosides, 4(5)-bromo-5(4)-nitro-1-β-D-ribofuranosylimidazoles, have been prepared via glycosylation of the trimethylsilylated aglycone, 4(5)-bromo-5(4)-nitroimidazole, with tetra-O-acetyl-β-D-ribo-furanose followed by removal of the acetyl protecting groups. The 5-bromo-4-nitro-1-β-D-ribofuranosylimidazole nucleoside was acetonated to produce 5-bromo-4-nitro-1-(2,3-O-isopropylidene-β-D-ribofuranosyl)-imidazole which was cyclized to provide the corresponding anhydronucleoside 5,5′-anhydro-4-nitro-5-oxo-1-(2,3-O-isopropylidene-β-D-ribofuranosyl)imidazole. Sodium hydrosulfide treatment of 5-bromo-4-nitroimidazole nucleoside provided 5-mercapto-4-nitro-1-β-D-ribofuranosylimidazole 5-sodium salt which was alkylated with E-1,5-diiodopent-1-ene to yield 5-(E-1-iodo-1-penten-5-yl)thio-4-nitro-1-β-D-ribofuranosylimidazole. The corresponding iodine-125-labeled compound was prepared similarly using radiolabeled diiodopentene. The 5-bromo-4-nitroimidazole, 5-mercapto-4-nitroimidazole, and 5-iodopentenylthio-4-nitroimidazole nucleosides were cytotoxic to Molt-3 cells in vitro at concentrations higher than 10 μg/mL. The radiolabeled 5-iodopentenylthio-4-nitroimidazole nucleoside showed 2-fold higher uptake in a rapidly growing tumor as compared to uptake in a relatively slower growing tumor in mice. 相似文献
Summary The addition of dienes to the system [(Cp2TiCl)2] LiAlH4toluene changes the system so that the complex [Cp2TiAlH4] is quantitatively formed instead of a titanocene hydride — aluminium hydride cluster. The complex [Cp2TiAlH4] is further converted into 3-allyltitanocene derivatives ([Cp2TiA]) if the diene structure is suitable for formation of stable [Cp2TiA] compounds and if the equilibrium [Cp2TiAlH4]+diene[Cp2TiA]+A1H3 is shifted towards the formation of [Cp2TiA] by the excess of diene. All the compounds [Cp2TiA] exhibit high-resolution e.s.r. spectra at g=1.993, showing interaction of the unpaired electron with the cyclopentadienyl and 3-allyl protons. The e.s.r. spectra clearly reveal the presence of alkyl substituents atsyn-1,3-positions of 3-allyl ligand, and show a triplet of multiplets for (3-allyl)titanocene, doublets of multiplets for (1-alkyl-3-allyl)titanocenes and single multiplets for (1,3-dialkyl-3-allyl)-titanocenes. thermal isomerization of (1,3-dimethyl-3-allyl)-titanocene and (1-methyl-3-ethyl-3-allyl)titanocene, hitherto considered as the stable Cp2TiA compounds, into (1-alkyl-3-allyl)titanocenes was confirmed by e.s.r. and electronic absorption spectroscopy as well as by chemical means. 相似文献
Acrylamide and acrolein are two short-chained hazardous compounds with neurotoxic, carcinogenic, and mutagenic effects. The aim of this paper is to describe a fast and simple procedure for simultaneous determination of both acrylamide and acrolein under standard conditions, suggest a suitable calibration protocol for custom analysis, and demonstrate its applicability to the analysis of gaseous products from, e.g., cigarettes, cigars, or electronic cigarettes. A gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) method was developed to quantify acrylamide and acrolein in smoke vapor from electronic cigarettes, tobacco cigarettes, and cigars. Nonionic and highly polar molecules with a low boiling point and molecular mass need a suitable derivatization method to achieve appropriate retention and selectivity on commonly used relatively nonpolar stationary phases and to enhance the molecular mass for easy MS detection. The derivatization of acrylamide and acrolein was carried out by a bromination method with elemental bromine. The dibromo derivatives were extracted into an organic solvent and following a dehydrobromination procedure the samples were injected into the GC–MS system. Important experimental parameters were varied, after which the bromination time was defined as 30 min, and the injector temperature and the starting temperature of gradient were set at 280 and 50 °C respectively. Acrolein was found in all tested samples, while acrylamide was detected only in smoke from normal tobacco. Possible mechanisms for the formation of these unsaturated compounds in the samples are discussed. After its validation the newly developed method was successfully and reliably applied to the analysis of both compounds. This short method provides an easy way to determine acrylamide and acrolein in gaseous samples.
