In this study, surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) characteristics of gold nanoaggregates
with different morphologies are examined to elucidate the correlation between SPR and SERS of the object. Nanoaggregates,
defined as random aggregates (hereafter RA), elongated aggregates (hereafter EA) and two-dimensional layered aggregates (hereafter
2DLA) are fabricated by immobilizing colloidal gold nanoparticles on glass substrates. The color variation observed in the
RA and EA samples indicates the variation in localized SPR excitations excited on the samples. The RA sample mostly shows
a broadened and shifted SPR peak centered at 570 nm in addition to another peak in the longer wavelength region (∼700 nm),
whereas in the EA sample a weak blue-shifted peak is observed near 450 nm in addition to a broadened peak centered at 570 nm
covering a trail for another one near 700 nm. In the case of the 2DLA sample, more than one SPR peaks are observed in the
longer wavelength region. The SERS observation confirms million times higher enhancement at least in Raman intensity using
the gold nanoaggregates adsorbed by dye molecules. The EA sample of gold nanoparticles shows ∼5 times higher enhancement in

Ultraviolet photoemission (UPS) and inner core reflectance spectra have been measured on SmSe(100) surface with synchrotron radiation. Besides the multiplet structures observed in UPS spectra for the Sm 4f, 5p and 5s excitations, the reflectance spectrum has revealed a multiplet structure associated with the Sm 4d→4f excitation. Each band of the UPS spectra has shown remarkably different hν dependence and the resonant behavior of the cross section. Sm 4f- and Se 4p-derived valence band features are unambiguously identified by the angle resolved UPS. 相似文献

Photoproduction of the neutral kaon on the deuteron has been investigated at the Research Center for Electron Photon Science, Tohoku University. We constructed the Neutral Kaon Spectrometer-2 for the detection of charged particles from the decay of the neutral kaon and the hyperon. We obtained a momentum distribution of K 0 with the inclusive measurement. It was consistent with the previous measurement. The total cross section of γ + d → K 0 + Λ + p was estimated from the measured integral cross section of γ + d → Λ + X. The total cross section with respect to the photon energy was compared with the theoretical calculations. It favored the Saclay-Lyon A model calculation with the ratio of the neutral to charged coupling constants of the axial-vector meson, K 1, as ~ ?1.5. The energy dependence and the magnitude of the total cross section were similar to the total cross section of γ + p → K + Λ. 相似文献

The present study was designed to show the applicability of scanning ion conductance microscopy (SICM) for imaging different types of biological samples. For this purpose, we first applied SICM to image collagen fibrils and showed the usefulness of the approach-retract scanning (ARS)/hopping mode for such samples with steep slopes. Comparison of SICM images with those obtained by AFM revealed that the ARS/hopping SICM mode can probe the surface topography of collagen fibrils and chromosomes at nanoscale resolution under liquid conditions. In addition, we successfully imaged cultured HeLa cells, with 15 μm in height by ARS/hopping SICM mode. Because SICM can obtain non-contact (or force-free) images, delicate cellular projections were visualized on the surface of the fixed cell. SICM imaging of live HeLa cells further demonstrated its applicability to study the morphological dynamics associated with biological processes on the time scale of minutes under liquid conditions. We further applied SICM for imaging the luminal surface of the trachea and succeeded in visualizing the surface of both ciliated and non-ciliated cells. These SICM images were comparable with those obtained by scanning electron microscopy. Although the dynamic mode of AFM provides better resolution than the ARS/hopping mode of SICM in some samples, only the latter can obtain contact-free images of samples with steep slopes, rendering it an important tool for observing live cells as well as unfixed or fixed soft samples with complicated shapes. Taken together, we demonstrate that SICM imaging, especially using an ARS/hopping mode, is a useful technique with unique capabilities for imaging the three-dimensional topography of a range of biological samples under physiologically relevant aqueous conditions. 相似文献

The purpose of this paper was to investigate the feasibility of a newly developed hyperspectral fundus imaging camera with
a liquid crystal tunable filter. The intensities of different wavelengths of light transmitted through an artery, vein, and
the area surrounding these vessels and reflected out were measured, and the differential spectral absorptions were analyzed.
Measurements were made from 16 normal eyes and from two artificial capillaries. The ratios of absorption (ROA) of arteries
to veins from 500 to 580 nm (range 1) and from 600 to 720 nm (range 2) were calculated. For all eyes, the ROArange1 was larger than ROArange2. The ROA obtained from the artificial capillary filled with blood saturated with oxygen or nitrogen was similar to that of
simulated data of oxy- and deoxyhemoglobin extinction rate. Most ROAs of human eyes were lower than those of the simulated
data and the artificial capillaries. Oxygen saturation analysis by hyperspectral fundus imaging of retinal vessels were qualitatively
in agreement with thein vitro analysis or simulated values. However, further improvements are necessary to evaluate the oxygen saturation quantitatively

In a polar ferrimagnet GaFeO3, we have found a novel magneto-optical effect, termed x-ray nonreciprocal directional dichroism (XNDD), that the x-ray absorption at around the K edge of an Fe ion depends on whether the x-ray propagation vector is parallel or antiparallel to the outer product of the magnetization and electric-polarization vectors. The XNDD spectroscopy as demonstrated here can be a useful tool to probe the local magnetism in noncentrosymmetric systems such as magnetic interfaces and nanostructures. 相似文献

Second harmonic generation (SHG) induced by spontaneous magnetization has been investigated for a polar ferromagnetic crystal of GaFeO3. The Kerr rotation of the second harmonic light becomes gigantic with decreasing temperature below the magnetic transition temperature (approximately =205 K), e.g., as large as 73 degrees at 100 K. The magnetic domains can be visualized by using that large nonlinear Kerr rotation. The spectrum of the magnetization-induced SHG as measured indicates the two-photon resonant electronic process on a Fe3+ ion in the crystal. 相似文献

The present study reveals the on/off of spin-crossover (SCO) phenomenon in assembled Fe(II) complexes bridged by bis(pyridyl) type ligand. Whether SCO phenomenon occurs or not in assembled Fe(II) complexes bridged by bis(pyridyl) type ligand is determined by local structure around iron atom. SCO phenomenon occurs when the coordinating pyridines facing to each other across the iron atom are propeller type, while the phenomenon does not occur when they are parallel type or distorted propeller type. DFT calculation explained that, in the shortening of Fe-pyridine bonds when changing from high-spin state to low-spin state, the pyridines of propeller type can approach the iron atom with smaller steric hindrance than those of parallel and distorted propeller type complexes. The local structure is controlled by introducing methyl substituent and introducing π-system, changing SCO phenomenon. And the transition temperature of SCO is also controlled in assembled complexes bridged by 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane by mixing anionic ligand. 相似文献
