Using first principles calculations, we report for the first time that large nearly neutral aromatic molecules, such as naphthalene and anthracene, and small charge-transfer aromatic molecules, such as TCNQ and DDQ, interact more strongly with metallic single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) versus their semiconducting counterparts as the molecular orientation of DDQ is taken into account. Hence two new mechanisms for separating metallic and semiconducting SWNTs via noncovalent pi-pi stacking or charge-transfer interaction are suggested.  相似文献

Branched tris‐DNA, in which two oligonucleotides of the same sequence and one other oligonucleotide of a different sequence are connected with a rigid central linker, was prepared chemically by using a DNA synthesizer. Two branched tris‐DNA molecules with complementary DNA sequences form dimer and tetramer as well as linear and spherical oligomer complexes. The complex formation was studied by UV/thermal denaturation, enzyme digestion, gel electrophoresis, and AFM imaging.  相似文献

The fragmentation pathways of seven types of taxoids were investigated by using a LC-MS/MS method, namely: (1) neutral taxoids with a C-4(20) double bond; (2) taxoids with a C-4(20) double bond and oxygenation at C-14; (3) 5-cinnamoyl taxoids with a C-4(20) double bond; (4) a basic taxoid with a C-4(20) double bond; (5) a taxoid with a C-4(20) epoxide; (6) taxoids with an oxetane ring; and (7) taxoids with an oxetane ring and a phenylisoserine C-13 side chain. Depending on the class of core structure and the substitution pattern, each taxoid gave either the molecular adduct ion [M+NH4]+ or [M+H]+. In the MS/MS, the molecular adduct ion gave characteristic product ions corresponding to the loss of water, acetic acid, benzoic acid, and cinnamic acid or the phenylisoserine group. These could reflect the difference of the substitutions and structural modifications and should be utilized for the structure elucidation oftaxoids by LC-MS.  相似文献

Teleocidins are potent protein kinase C activators, and possess a unique indole-fused nine-membered lactam structure. Teleocidin biosynthesis starts from the formation of a dipeptide by non-ribosomal peptide synthetase (NRPS), followed by oxidative C−N bond formation by a cytochrome P450 oxidase, reverse-prenylation by a prenyltransferase, and methylation-initiated terpene cyclization by a C-methyltransferase. This minireview focuses on recent research progress toward the elucidation of the molecular basis for the remarkable P450-catalyzed intramolecular C−N bond-forming reaction, which is challenging in synthetic chemistry, to generate the indolactam scaffold. In addition, precursor-directed biosynthesis with the promiscuous P450 enzymes led to the formation of a series of unnatural and novel molecular scaffolds, including a sulfur-substituted indolactam with a different conformation from that of indolactam V.  相似文献

Amphiphilic peptides bearing terminal alkyl tails form supramolecular nanofibers that are increasingly used as biomaterials with multiple functionalities. Insertion of alkylene chains in peptides can be designed as another type of amphiphilic peptide, yet the influence of the internal alkylene chains on self-assembly and biological properties remains poorly defined. Unlike the terminal alkyl tails, the internal alkylene chains can affect not only the hydrophobicity but also the flexibility and packing of the peptides. Herein, we demonstrate the supramolecular and biological effects of the central alkylene chain length inserted in a peptide. Insertion of the alkylene chain at the center of the peptide allowed for strengthened β-sheet hydrogen bonds and modulation of the packing order, and consequently the amphiphilic peptide bearing C2 alkylene chain formed a hydrogel with the highest stiffness. Interestingly, the amphiphilic peptides bearing internal alkylene chains longer than C2 showed a diminished cell-adhesive property. This study offers a novel molecular design to tune mechanical and biological properties of peptide materials.  相似文献

Radical homo- and copolymerizations of methyl α-trifluoroacetoxyacrylate (MTFAA) are studied by using azo initiators at 40 and 60°C. The rate of the homopolymerization of MTFAA was lower than that of methyl α-acetoxyacrylate. Monomer reactivity ratios (r), and Q and e values were estimated to be r1 = 0.03, r2 = 0.27, Q1 = 0.65, and e1 = 1.38 from the copolymerization of MTFAA (M1) and styrene (M2) at 60°C. Preferential crosspropagation was observed in particular in the copolymerization of MTFAA and α-methylstyrene. The influence of replacing the hydrogens of the acetoxy moiety of the acyloxyacrylate with the fluorines upon the copolymerization reactivity is discussed on the basis of the 13C-NMR chemical shift of various acyloxyacrylates. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Six new diterpenoids, sabiperones A-F (1-6) have been isolated from the aerial part of Juniperus sabina. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods including 2D NMR techniques. Sabiperone F showed moderate cell growth inhibitory activities against five human cancer cell lines.  相似文献

Vertically-aligned diameter-controlled carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are synthesised by the plasma enhanced chemical vapour deposition (PECVD) method using multi-layers of self-assembled catalytic ligand-coated iron oxide nanoparticles. We find that the mono-dispersed nanoparticles play a vital role for the production of diameter-controlled CNTs. A new growth model is also proposed based on the experimental results. The present results may make a great contribution to the development and design of mechanical, electronic and biomedical devices, in which diameter-controlled CNTs are utilised.  相似文献
