Integral resource capacity planning for inpatient care services based on bed census predictions by hour

The design and operations of inpatient care facilities are typically largely historically shaped. A better match with the changing environment is often possible, and even inevitable due to the pressure on hospital budgets. Effectively organizing inpatient care requires simultaneous consideration of several interrelated planning issues. Also, coordination with upstream departments like the operating theatre and the emergency department is much-needed. We present a generic analytical approach to predict bed census on nursing wards by hour, as a function of the Master Surgical Schedule and arrival patterns of emergency patients. Along these predictions, insight is gained on the impact of strategic (ie, case mix, care unit size, care unit partitioning), tactical (ie, allocation of operating room time, misplacement rules), and operational decisions (ie, time of admission/discharge). The method is used in the Academic Medical Center Amsterdam as a decision-support tool in a complete redesign of the inpatient care operations.     

Ethylene/1‐Hexene Copolymerization with A Novel SiO2‐Supported Inorganic and Organic Hybrid Chromium‐based Catalyst

In this work, ethylene/1‐hexene copolymerization with a novel SiO₂‐supported inorganic and organic hybrid chromium‐based catalyst was investigated. This catalyst was prepared using the residual surface hydroxyl groups in Phillips catalyst to support bis(triphenylsilyl) chromate (BC) in order to get the merits from two important chromium‐based catalysts namely inorganic Phillips and organic S‐2 catalysts. The influences of addition amount of 1‐hexene and BC were systematically investigated. With increasing 1‐hexene from 0 to 7 vol%, the activity of HCat‐2 catalyst showed a decreasing tendency. Its copolymer also showed the better short chain branches distribution through the temperature rising elution fractionation cross successive self‐nucleation and annealing characterization.

     

一般型三维簇的三典范映射

研究了一般型三维射影代数簇的三典范映射性质.当几何亏格p_g≥2时,整数m≥4的多典范映射结构已经比较清晰,但是三典范映射的结构还有很多未知问题.如果三典范映射φ_3不是双有理的,本文证明了φ_3的映射次数(如果φ_3是一般有限映射)或者一般纤维中一般不可约分支的几何亏格(如果φ_3是纤维型)有一个上界.     

社会互动,投资者情绪传染与资产泡沫——基于股票论坛发帖的实证研究

在资本市场中,投资者并不是相互独立的个体,而是相互学习、相互交流的。随着互联网的迅猛发展,这种社会互动变得更为频繁和普遍,因此社会互动对资产价格的影响也不容小觑。本文先通过理论建模提出理论假设:社会互动存在条件下,投资者互动会加剧市场情绪的传染,进而增加资产泡沫;当投资者情绪高涨时,投资者互动强度显著正向影响泡沫;当投资者情绪低落时,投资者互动强度显著负向影响泡沫;受社会互动影响,投资者活跃的交易会加剧市场情绪的传染,进而增加资产泡沫。之后本文基于股票论坛发帖构建社会互动、投资者情绪指标,验证了中国股票市场中本文理论假设的正确性。     

Preparation and reducing-responsive property of a novel functional polyurethane nanoemulsion

As a kind of stimuli-responsive materials,the disulfide-containing material has received a tremendous amount of interest.A novel functional disulfide-containing waterborne polyurethane(DS-WPU)nanoemulsion was prepared via a one-step in situ phase inverse emulsification technique and its reducing-responsive prope rty was investigated using dithiothreitol as the reductant.Results showed that the DS-WPU nanoemulsion had a uniform particle size in nanoscale and a good film-forming characteristic,and the DS-WPU latex film exhibited great responsiveness along with a self-assembled behavior in the reducing environment to form WPU emulsion again,including a long-to-short process of the polymer chains.     

A novel approach to prepare core/shell polymer latex particles with high sulphonate contents

Crosslinked x-P(St-MAA) seed latex was first prepared via soap-free emulsion copolymerization of styrene (St) and methyl methacrylic acid (MAA) with divinyl benzene as crosslinker and ammonium persulfate as initiator, and x-P(St-MAA)/x-P(St-NaSS) core/shell latex particles were then synthesized through a novel seeded emulsion copolymerization of St and sodium styrene sulphonate (NaSS) in the presence of water-soluble crosslinker N,N′-methylene bisacrylamide (BAA) using oil-soluble 2,2-azobis isobutyronitrile as initiator. TEM observation indicated that narrow dispersed core/shell latex particles were obtained, and element analysis showed that NaSS unit content in the whole particle and in the shell reached 22.8 wt% and 51.2 wt%, respectively.     

Preparation and properties of thermoexpandable polymeric microspheres

In this paper,thermoexpandable polymeric microspheres were prepared by suspension polymerization with acrylonitrile(AN) and methyl methacrylate(MMA) as monomers and i-butane as a blowing agent.The micromorphology and thermal stability were researched by polarized microscopy and TGA.The diameter of the expandable microspheres increased from about 20 mm(unexpanded) to 40–80 mm(expanded) upon heating.The maximum expansion volume was higher than 22 times of the original volume and the density of the expanded microspheres was about 16.7 kg/m3.The blowing agent content in microspheres was about 20 wt% and To.e.,Tm.e.and To.s.were 80 8C,120–130 8C and 140–145 8C,respectively.     

Hydrogen‐bonding characteristics and unique ring‐opening polymerization behavior of Ortho‐methylol functional benzoxazine

Monofunctional benzoxazine with ortho‐methylol functionality has been synthesized and highly purified. The chemical structure of the synthesized monomer has been confirmed by ¹H and ¹³C nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT‐IR) and elemental analysis. One‐dimensional (1D) ¹H NMR is used with respect to varied concentration of benzoxazines to study the specific nature of hydrogen bonding in both ortho‐methylol functional benzoxazine and its para counterpart. The polymerization behavior of benzoxazine monomer has been also studied by in situ FT‐IR and differential scanning calorimetry, experimentally supporting the polymerization mechanism of ortho‐methylol functional benzoxazine we proposed before. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
