20LiF-(30−x)Sb2O3-50B2O3:xNiO glasses with the value of x (ranging from 0 to 1.0 mol% in steps of 0.2) were prepared. A number of studies, viz. differential scanning calorimetry, optical absorption, magnetic susceptibility and thermoluminescence, on these glasses were carried out as a function of nickel ion concentration. An anomaly has been observed in all the properties of these glasses when NiO concentration is about 0.6 mol%. The results of these studies were analysed in the light of different environments of nickel ions in the glass network. 相似文献

We report a technique that is capable of making simultaneous two-point time-series measurements of minor-species concentrations in turbulent flames. The experimental setup, which incorporates picosecond time-resolved laser-induced fluorescence, has a spatial resolution of less than 250 microm and a temporal resolution of less than 100 micros, which spatially and temporally resolve microscales in many turbulent flows. In many metrics of physical interest, the gravitational field can be represented as an optical medium with an effective index of refraction. We show that, in such a metric, the orbits of both massive and massless particles are governed by a variational principle which involves the index of refraction and which assumes the form of Fermat's principle or of Maupertuis's principle. From this variational principle we derive exact equations of motion of Newtonian form which govern both massless and massive particles. Extraction of vanadium (IV) in the presence of perchlorate, nitrate, halides, and thiocyanate and neutral oxygen donors liken-butanol, TBP and antipyrine into various solvents is studied. Composition of the extracting species and the stability constants are determined. Photon induced modifications in Triafol-TN and Triafol-BN polymers have been studied in the dose range of 101–106 Gy at room temperature using a 60Co source. To monitor the chemical and structural changes induced by gamma rays, UV, IR, and ESR studies were carried out. Thermal studies were also conducted for understanding the effects of gamma irradiations on these polymers. Recent spin trapping studies of the free radical intermediates generated by the sonolysis of aqueous solutions are reviewed. Studies of rare gas saturated solutions of volatile solutes (e.g., methanol and ethanol) and of non-volatile solutes (acetate, amino acids, sugars, pyrimidines, nucleotides and surfactants) are consistent with the theory of three reaction zones in aqueous sonochemistry. The very high temperatures and pressures induced by acoustic cavitation in collapsing gas bubbles in aqueous solutions lead to the thermal dissociation of water vapour into hydrogen atoms and hydroxyl radicals. Reactions take place in the gas phase (pyrolysis reactions), in the region of the gas-liquid interface, and in the bulk of the solution at ambient temperature (similar to radiation chemistry reactions). By use of the rare gases with different thermal conductivities, the contributions of individual reaction steps with widely different energies of activation can be evaluated. 相似文献

In this work, we investigate the emergence of rare and intense events during the Raman fiber amplification of a continuous wave. We highlight how dispersive properties and pump depletion can strongly influence the statistical properties of the amplified signal and its optical spectrum. Under certain conditions, the probability density functions of the amplified signal are calculated analytically and compared with the results of the numerical simulations. The conclusions are qualitatively validated by experiments carried out at telecommunication wavelengths. 相似文献
