The recombination electroluminescence (REL) in an anthracene single crystal has been modulated by ac voltage at different dc biasing voltages. The frequency and ac voltage dependences observed are interpreted in terms of the presented model of sinusoidal current wave. The dc-voltage-induced changes in the modulation are explained by the voltage variation of the triplet exciton lifetime and wavelength of the current wave based on concomitant evolution of the triplet-to-singlet exciton concentration ratio responsible for the contribution of delayed and prompt components of the REL. 相似文献

A probabilistic approach is formulated to study the behaviour of the incident hadron quark flavours in the fragmentation process of high energy protons in lowp T reactions. Analysis of available data onpp collisions, mainly on hyperon and antibaryon multiplicities, leads to estimates of the probabilities for the different ways in which the incident valence quarks recombine into final hadrons. We find that all three incident quarks emerge in one and the same outgoing nucleon (or nucleon resonance) with probabilityA 3=0.35–0.4, that two of them emerge in one baryon and the third in another hadron (mostly a meson or meson resonance) with probabilityA 2=0.6–0.5, and that they emerge in three distinct hadrons (mostly mesons or meson resonances) with probabilityA 1=0.05–0.1. We find good support for a very simple probabilistic picture of the fragmentation process. 相似文献

Visualization of the vessel wall after transluminal angioplasty is important to monitor the restenosis progress. Intravascular ultrasound proved its capabilities as an invasive procedure in many studies. The aim of this study was to evaluate the feasibility of high-resolution MRI as a non-invasive tool for follow-up after PTA. High-resolution magnetic resonance images (pixel size: 0.49 * 0.49 mm(2)) were acquired on a 1.0 T clinical scanner. Morphometry was conducted after conversion of DICOM images into TIFF format using ScionImage on a PC. In-vitro studies using a polyvinylchloride tube were evaluated by two independent investigators. Goldstandard was a caliper rule and direct radiography. Five patients were monitored before and 24 h, six weeks, three months and six months after PTA. In vivo measurements promised a good concordance for both investigators for area as well as for diameter measurements. Area measurements showed correlations up to r = 0.86 (p < 0.001) whereas the correlations of diameters were slightly inferior (r between 0.58 and 0.84; p < 0.005). Relocation of the same slice position in the follow up studies could be guaranteed using anatomic landmarks in the images. As a non-invasive tool to assess restenosis after PTA high-resolution MRI promises to be a reproducible technique. It is easy to identify the same vascular region in different studies due to neighboring anatomic landmarks. Progression of disease as well as success of pharmacologic treatment to prevent restenosis may be monitored. 相似文献

We investigate how well the graph of a bilinear function \(b{:}\;[0,1]^n\rightarrow \mathbb {R}\) can be approximated by its McCormick relaxation. In particular, we are interested in the smallest number c such that the difference between the concave upper bounding and convex lower bounding functions obtained from the McCormick relaxation approach is at most c times the difference between the concave and convex envelopes. Answering a question of Luedtke, Namazifar and Linderoth, we show that this factor c cannot be bounded by a constant independent of n. More precisely, we show that for a random bilinear function b we have asymptotically almost surely \(c\geqslant \sqrt{n}/4\). On the other hand, we prove that \(c\leqslant 600\sqrt{n}\), which improves the linear upper bound proved by Luedtke, Namazifar and Linderoth. In addition, we present an alternative proof for a result of Misener, Smadbeck and Floudas characterizing functions b for which the McCormick relaxation is equal to the convex hull. 相似文献

We discuss the Higgs scenario in the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model ate +e? linear colliders operating in the c.m. energy range between 300 and 500 GeV. Besides decays of the Higgs particles into ordinary fermions and cascade decays, we analyze also decays into gaugino/Higgsinos and in particular, neutral Higgs decays into the lightest supersymmetric particles which are invisible ifR-parity is conserved. The cross sections for the various production channels of SUSY Higgs particles ine +e? collisions are discussed in detail. The lightest Higgs boson cannot escape detection, and in major parts of the MSSM parameter space all five Higgs particles can be observed. 相似文献
