The first achiral bent-core banana-shaped bidentate ligands and their Cu(II) and Pd(II) metal complexes have been synthesized and investigated for mesomorphic behaviour. The bidentate ligands exhibit only one enantiotropic mesophase. The ligand having C6 -alkoxy chains shows a mesophase that has been assigned as a two-dimensional B1 phase while the C8 and C10 homologues stabilize the fluid B2 mesophase showing antiferroelectric switching characteristics. In constrast, their corresponding Cu(II) and Pd(II) metal complexes are non-mesomorphic.  相似文献

A novel fluorescent chemosensor rhodamine B phenyl hydrazide (RBPH) for Hg2+ was designed and synthesized. This probe is highly sensitive, selective, and irreversible for Hg2+ and exhibits fluorescent response at 580 nm. RBPH also displayed detectable color change from colorless to pink upon treatment with Hg2+. This property has been utilized as naked eye detection for Hg2+ in various industrial samples. Fluorescence microscopic experiments demonstrated that this chemosensor is cell permeable and can be used for fluorescence imaging of Hg2+ in cellular media. This probe can detect Hg2+ with good linear relationships from 1 to 100 nM with r?=?0.99983 and the limit of detection were found to be 0.019 nM with?±?0.91 % RSD at 10 nM concentrations.  相似文献

The hydrogelator, octadecyl maleamic acid salt (ODMAS), has been shown to perform as a microreactor in copolymerization reaction with butyl acrylate in aqueous medium thereby providing functionalized latex. The evidence for occurrence of controlled polymerization reaction inside the microreactor is drawn from the composition and the polydispersity index of the copolymers. The copolymers generated under microreactor conditions or in other words, from emulsion phase provided by the hydrogelator exhibit significant incorporation of ODMAS with narrow polydispersity index. For example, a copolymer with ODMAS as high as 0.62 m and polydispersity index at 1.39 could be achieved. On the contrary, the solution copolymerization reactions in THF resulted in low yield of polymers with molecular weight at 10(3) order and polydispersity index in range of 2.53-2.91. The particle size distribution of the latexes remains almost invariant at 74 +/- 4 nm, over the concentration range of 0.12-0.62m with standard deviation (sigma) of 0.12-0.22. The surface area/molecule of ODMAS on the latex particle has been estimated to be 0.21 nm(2)/molecule. The polymerized latexes exhibit zeta potential at 64 +/- 3 mV and surface tension in range of 42.8-47.9 mN m(-)(1) respectively. This is indicative of coverage of latex with ODMAS.  相似文献

Single-crystal electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) studies of VO(II) doped in hexaaquazinc(diaquabismalonto)zincate have indicated interstitial location for vanadyl, which was a rare observation, considering the structure of the host lattice (K. Arun Prasath Lingam, S. Mithira and P. Sambasiva Rao, Appl. Magn. Reson. 38:295, 2010). However, substitutional location is noticed in a different crystal, in which interstitial resonances are almost absent. Generally, both types of resonances will be noticed in the same crystal. The spin Hamiltonian parameters calculated from the EPR spectra for substitutional location are: g xx  = 1.981, g yy  = 1.976, g zz  = 1.941, A xx  = 7.96 mT, A yy  = 6.09 mT, and A zz  = 17.83 mT. Crystal-field parameters, admixture and molecular orbital coefficients have been calculated from optical data, which reveal a moderately covalent metal–ligand bonding.  相似文献
