Saskatoon berry fruits are a valuable source of micro- and macronutrients, sugars, and compounds with health-promoting properties, the properties of which change during storage. This study presents the effects of applied gaseous ozone at 10 ppm for 15 and 30 min on microbiological stability, sugar content, and bioactive compounds for three cultivars and three clones of Saskatoon berry fruit. The ozonation process had a positive effect on reducing the microbial load of the fruit, which was observed on day 7 of storage for the two variants of ozonation time of 15 and 30 min compared to the control and also on the sugar profile of the “Thiessen” fruit, as well as clones no 5/6 and type H compared to the control sample, which was non-ozonated fruit. In the Saskatoon berry fruits analyzed, 21 polyphenolic compounds were identified, of which four belonged to the anthocyanin group whose main representative was the 3-O-glucoside cyanidin. The ascorbic acid content and antioxidant activity (determined by DPPH· and ABTS+· methods) varied according to the cultivar and clone of the Saskatoon berry fruits analyzed and the ozone exposure time.  相似文献

Polyphenols, organic acids and metal ions are an important group of compounds that affect the human health and quality of food and beverage products, including wines. It is known that a specific correlation between these groups exist. While wines coming from the New World and the Old World countries are extensively studied, wines coming from cool-climate countries are rarely discussed in the literature. One of the goals of this study was to determine the elemental composition of the wine samples, which later on, together as polyphenols and organic acids content, was used as input data for chemometric analysis. The multivariate statistical approach was applied in order to find specific correlations between the selected group of compounds in the cool-climate wines and the features that distinguish the most and differ between red and white wines and rosé wines. Moreover, special attention was paid to resveratrol and its correlation with selected wine constituents.  相似文献

Due to its carcinogenic properties, the presence of formaldehyde in resins and other industrial products has been a subject of great concern in recent years. The presented review focuses on modern alternatives for the production of wood-based panels; i.e., substitutes for formaldehyde in the production of amino and phenolic resins, as well as novel hardeners for formaldehyde-free wood adhesives. Solutions in which formaldehyde in completely replaced are presented in this review. Recent advances indicate that it is possible to develop new formaldehyde-free systems of resins with compatible hardeners. The formaldehyde substitutes that have primarily been tested are glyoxal, glutaraldehyde, furfural, 5-hydroxymethylfurfural, and dimethoxyethanal. The use of such substitutes eliminates the problem of free formaldehyde emission originating from the resin used in the production of wood-based panels. However, these alternatives are mostly characterized by worse reactivity, and, as a result, the use of formaldehyde-free resins may affect the mechanical and strength properties of wood-based panels. Nonetheless, there are still many substantial challenges for the complete replacement of formaldehyde and further research is needed, especially in the field of transferring the technology to industrial practice.  相似文献

Propolis is one of the bee products, with multiple biological properties used in numerous applications. The research objective was to determine the chemical composition and biological properties (antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, antioxidant, and cytoprotective activity) of propolis extracts collected from various regions of Poland. The results indicated that the total content of phenols (116.16–219.41 mg GAE/g EEP) and flavonoids (29.63–106.07 mg QE/g EEP) in propolis extracts depended on their geographic origin. The high content of epicatechin, catechin, pinobanksin, myricetin, and acids: vanillic and syringic in propolis samples was confirmed by chromatographic analysis. Moreover, the presence of caffeic acid phenethyl ester was confirmed in all samples. The origin of propolis also influenced the biological properties of its extracts. The propolis extracts were characterized by moderate DPPH free radical scavenging activity (29.22–35.14%), and relatively low ferrous iron chelating activity (9.33–32.32%). The results indicated also that the propolis extracts showed high activity in the protection of human red blood cells against free radicals generated from 2,2’-azobis(2-methylpropionamidine) dihydrochloride (AAPH). The extracts exhibited diversified activity against the tested pathogenic bacteria and limited activity against fungal strains. The research of selected propolis extracts showed that only 2 of 5 examined samples showed moderate activity against HPV (human papillomaviruses) and the activity depended on its geographical distribution.  相似文献

A series of 4-halogeno aniline derivatives was studied employing combined theoretical and experimental methods (i. e. crystal structure analysis and vibrational spectroscopies). This simplified model system was selected to shed light on the impact of fluorine substitution on the formation of noncovalent interactions such as halogen bonds (XBs) and hydrogen bonds (HBs), which are key interactions in fluorinated/halogenated drug-protein complex formation. Comparative analysis of three previously reported and five newly determined crystal structures indicated that, in most cases, 2-fluoro and 2,6-difluoro substitution of 4-X anilines increases the ability of adjacent amine to form strong N−H⋅⋅⋅N HBs. Additionally, fluorine substituents in the difluorinated derivatives are competitive and attractive HB and XB acceptors and increase the probability of halogen-halogen contacts. A peculiar observation was made for 4-iodoaniline and 2,6-difluoro-4-iodoaniline, which form distinct interaction patterns compared to the corresponding 4-Cl and 4-Br analogs. The observed intramolecular N−H⋅⋅⋅F interactions lead to additional NH bands in the FT-IR spectra.  相似文献

Micrometer‐sized hierarchical Sn3O2(OH)2 octahedra, which are self‐assembled one inside the other, resembling “Russian doll” organization, have been obtained by a metalorganic approach. This synthesis is based on the controlled hydrolysis of [Sn(NMe2)2]2 in the presence of an alkylamine ligand in an organic solvent (THF). The water content of the medium proved to be a key parameter for the formation of these multi‐walled octahedra. The resultant structures have been used as gas‐sensitive layers on micromachined silicon devices. During in situ heating, Sn3O2(OH)2 is oxidized to SnO2 while retaining the initial morphology. The sensors present outstanding dynamic responses at very low CO concentrations (7 % and 67 % resistance variation to 0.25 and 20 ppm CO, respectively, at an operating temperature of 500 °C). This superior gas‐sensing performance is closely related to the unique microstructure of the SnO2 multi‐walled octahedra.  相似文献

Mono- and dipotassium salts of dipropylene glycol were applied for the polymerization of propylene oxide in mild conditions, i.e., tetrahydrofuran solution at ambient temperature. The structure of polymers was investigated by use of 13C NMR and MALDI-TOF techniques. The structure depends strongly on the kind of initiator and additives that are used such as coronand 18-crown-6 and dipropylene glycol. The lowest unsaturation, represented by allyloxy starting groups, has the polymer obtained by use of monopotassium salt without the ligand. The highest unsaturation degree is for the polymer synthesized in the presence of dipotassium salt–activated 18-crown-6. This polymer, obtained at high initial monomer concentration and low initial concentration of initiator, consists of two fractions, i.e., a low molar mass fraction (Mn = 9400) containing mainly macromolecules with alkoxide starting and end groups and a much higher molar mass fraction (Mn = 29500 g/mol) containing macromolecules with allyloxy starting groups and alkoxide or hydroxyl end groups. Addition of free glycol to this system decreases the molar mass of polymers. Similar results were obtained by use of dipotassium salts of other glycols. The mechanisms of the studied processes are discussed.  相似文献

In this paper we describe an experiment whose goal is to investigate the role of the footstep sounds and soundscapes to affect the pace of a person walking in place (mimicking the act of walking without leaving the current position). Subjects were exposed to different simulated footstep sounds and soundscapes, generated in realtime while walking in place. The results show that, indeed, participants adapted their walking pace to the presented sounds, and not only footstep sounds but also soundscapes affect the walking pace. We could observe as well that perceived ease of walking correlates with the perceived naturalness of ambient sounds.  相似文献

(E)‐β‐Iodoenamides and (E)‐β‐iodoenimides can be easily obtained from N‐vinyl derivatives (N‐vinylamides and N‐vinylimides) by stereoselective ruthenium‐catalysed silylative coupling with vinyltrimethylsilane (Marciniec coupling) and subsequent stereospecific silicon–iodine exchange. Bromodesilylation of (E)‐β‐silylenimides affords (E)‐β‐bromoenimides, while the analogous reactions involving (E)‐β‐silylenamides lead to decomposition of substrates. N‐Halosuccinimides have been found as the most effective halogenating agents in the desilylation step under mild conditions. The ruthenium‐catalysed silylation/halodesilylation sequence can be performed in a one‐pot procedure. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献
