Phase transformations in squaric acid (H2C4O4) have been investigated by thermogravimetry and differential scanning calorimetry with different heating rates β. The mass loss in TG apparently begins at onset temperatures Tdi=245±5 °C (β=5 °C min?1), 262±5 °C (β=10 °C min?1), and 275±5 °C (β=20 °C min?1). A polymorphic phase transition was recognized as a weak endothermic peak in DSC around 101 °C (Tc+). Further heating with β=10 °C min?1 in DSC revealed deviation of the baseline around 310 °C (Ti), and a large unusual exothermic peak around 355 °C (Tp), which are interpreted as an onset and a peak temperature of thermal decomposition, respectively. The activation energy of the thermal decomposition was obtained by employing relevant models. Thermal decomposition was recognized as a carbonization process, resulting in amorphous carbon. 相似文献

We demonstrate self-starting 6.5-fs pulses from a Kerr-lens mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser with 200-mW average output power at a pulse repetition rate of ~86 M Hz. This is to our knowledge the shortest pulse ever generated directly from a laser. For dispersion compensation we used a prism pair in combination with double-chirped mirrors, which balances the higher-order dispersion of the prism pair and therefore flattens the average total group-delay dispersion in the laser cavity. Large nonlinear phase shifts were generated with femtosecond pulses at 1560 nm through cascaded quadratic interactions in periodically poled MgO-doped LiNbO3. The off-diagonal component of the nonlinear coefficient was utilized for simultaneous quasi phase matching and group-velocity matching. The characteristics of a BaO–Al2O3–B2O3–SiO2–La2O3 glass ceramic prepared by spray pyrolysis were studied. Glass powders with spherical shape and amorphous phase were prepared
by complete melting at a preparation temperature of 1 500°C. The mean size and geometric standard deviation of the powders
prepared at the temperature of 1 500°C were 0.6 μm and 1.3. The glass powders had similar composition to that of the spray
solution. The glass transition temperature (T
g) of the glass powders was 600.3°C. Two crystallization exothermic peaks were observed at 769.3 and 837.8°C. Densification
of the specimen started at a sintering temperature of 600°C, in which Ba4La6O(SiO4)6 as main crystal structure was observed. Complete densification of the specimen occurred at a sintering temperature of 800°C.

We investigate scaling and memory effects in return intervals between price volatilities above a certain threshold q for the
Japanese stock market using daily and intraday data sets. We find that the distribution of return intervals can be approximated
by a scaling function that depends only on the ratio between the return interval τ and its mean 〈τ〉. We also find memory effects
such that a large (or small) return interval follows a large (or small) interval by investigating the conditional distribution
and mean return interval. The results are similar to previous studies of other markets and indicate that similar statistical
features appear in different financial markets. We also compare our results between the period before and after the big crash
at the end of 1989. We find that scaling and memory effects of the return intervals show similar features although the statistical

The gas-phase growth and optical characteristics of 1-dimensional ZnO nanostructure have been investigated. The ZnO nanowires (NWs) were grown vertically on Au coated silicon substrates by vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) growth mechanism using chemical vapor deposition (CVD). The ZnO NWs were grown in the crystal direction of [0 0 0 1]. The ZnO NWs exhibit the uniform size of less than 100 nm in diameter and up to 5 μm in length. Photoluminescence (PL) spectrum of ZnO NWs shows the strong band-edge emission at ∼380 nm (∼3.27 eV) without significant deep-level defect emission. The exciton lifetime of ZnO NWs was measured to be approximately 150 ± 10 ps. 相似文献

Several techniques exist to obtain brilliant X-ray beams by coherent reflection from relativistic electrons (E e=γ mc 2) with Doppler frequency upshift of 4γ 2. We describe a new approach starting with an ultra-thin solid target. Larger ‘driver’-laser intensities with high contrast are required to produce dense electron sheets. Their acceleration in vacuum results in a transverse momentum component besides the dominant longitudinal momentum component. The counter-propagating ‘production’ laser for optimum Doppler boost in X-ray production by reflection has to be injected opposite to the electron direction and not opposite to the driver laser. Different measures to increase the reflectivity of the electron sheet via laser trapping or free-electron-laser-like micro-bunching are discussed, extending the photon energy into the MeV range. The possibility that nonsupersymmetric conformal field theories softly broken below 100 TeV may provide an alternative to conventional grand unification is explored. We consider a low energy theory presumed to be of this type arising from the type IIB superstring compactified on a AdS5×S5/Γ space whose gauge group and the particle content are severely restricted by the compactification process. We present an example of a resulting SU(4)C×SU(2)L×SU(2)R with three generations, which leads to coupling unification and a prediction for sin2θW0.227 and other phenomenology generally consistent with observations. 相似文献
