Non-precious metal bifunctional catalysts are of great interest for metal–air batteries, electrolysis, and regenerative fuel cell systems due to their performance and cost benefits compared to the Pt group metals (PGM). In this work, metal oxides of La0.1Ca0.9MnO3 and nano Co3O47 catalyst as bifunctional catalysts were used in oxygen reduction and evolution reactions (ORER). The catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and N2 adsorption isotherms. The electrocatalytic activity of the perovskite-type La0.1Ca0.9MnO3 and Co3O4 catalysts both as single and mixtures of both were assessed in alkaline solutions at room temperature. Electrocatalyst activity, stability, and electrode kinetics were studied using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and rotating disk electrode (RDE). This study shows that the bifunctional performance of the mixed La0.1Ca0.9MnO3 and nano Co3O4 was superior in comparison to either La0.1Ca0.9MnO3 or nano Co3O4 alone for ORER. The improved activity is due to the synergistic effect between the La0.1Ca0.9MnO3 and nano Co3O4 structural and surface properties. This work illustrates that hybridization between these two metal oxides results in the excellent bifunctional oxygen redox activity, stability, and cyclability, leading to a cost-effective application in energy conversion and storage, albeit to the cost of higher catalyst loadings.  相似文献

Gold electrodes modified with cationic self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of 2,2'-dithiobisethaneamine (CYST) and 6,6'-dithiobishexaneamine (DTH) were used for the simultaneous determination of dopamine (DA) and ascorbate (AA). The cationic SAM modified electrodes have several advantages over the bare electrode for the oxidation of AA. A very large (approximately 450 mV) decrease in the overpotential for the oxidation of AA when compared with the bare electrode has been observed at the cationic monolayer-modified electrode. The electrostatic interaction of negatively charged AA with the monolayer shift the oxidation peak potential of AA to less positive potential and enhances the peak current. On the other hand, the positively charged DA is repelled from the monolayer and the oxidation potential shifts to more positive potential when compared to the bare electrode. The electrochemical oxidation of AA at the mixed monolayer of CYST and diethyl disulfide (DEDS) supports the influence of cationic terminal group of the monolayer on the oxidation of AA. Since the oxidation of AA occurs well before the oxidation potential of DA is reached, the homogeneous catalytic oxidation of AA by the oxidized DA has been advantageously eliminated at the monolayer-modified electrode. The cationic self-assembled monolayers successfully detect DA in the presence of high concentration of AA. The sensitivity of the electrode modified with CYST monolayer was found to be 0.036 and 0.021 microA/microM towards AA and DA, respectively.  相似文献

All the ring substituents are in equatorial positions. The acetoxy­methyl group is in a gauchegauche conformation. The S atom is in a synperi­planar conformation, while the C—N—C—O linkage is antiperiplanar. In both structures, the central ring in the acridine moiety is in a sofa conformation, while the outer rings adopt intermediate half‐chair/sofa conformations. The central pyridine ring is orthogonal to the substituted phenyl ring. In both structures, the packing of the crystal is stabilized by C—H?O intermolecular hydrogen bonds.  相似文献

The authors describe an electrochemical method for the determination of the anti-cancer drug nilutamide. The method is based on the use of a composite prepared from β-cyclodextrin, gold nanoparticles and graphene oxide (β-CD-AuNP/GO). An alkaline solution of glucose was used as a reducing agent to reduce the gold ions, rather than citric acid and a harmful reducing agent such as hydrazine and sodium borohydride. The structure and surface morphology of the β-CD-AuNP/GO composite was characterized by Raman spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. A screen printed carbon electrode was modified with the nanocomposite, and the resulting electrode used as a disposable sensor for the determination of nilutamide by differential pulse voltammetry. Best operated at a working voltage of 0.43 V (vs Ag/AgCl), it exhibits excellent electrocatalytic activity and a detection limit as low as 0.4 nM. The sensor was applied to the determination of nilutamide in (spiked) human serum, as well as in a tablet, where it displays good recovery and accuracy. The sensor is repeatable, reproducible, stable and selective even in the presence of other aromatic nitro compounds.

The thermal conductivity of a number of ferrofluids consisting of colloidally dispersed Fe3O4 particles in diester, hydrocarbon, water and fluorcarbon carriers have been measured at 38°C. The variation in thermal conductivity with particle concentration is well described by Tareef's equation (1940). This has enabled the ratio of the physical to magnetic size to be determined and compared with estimates of the ratio obtained from electron micrographs and magnetic measurements.The fit between theory and experiment is particularly good for hydrocarbon carrier fluids giving the ratio of solid to magnetic radiusR i/R m=1.24±0.03 compared with the value obtained from magnetic data and electron micrographs of 1.19±0.07. The corresponding value from the fluids with a diester carrier ranges between 1.1<R d/R m<1.3 which is again consistent with microscopy and magnetic data.The application of a magnetic field of 0.1 T had no noticeable effect on the thermal conductivities of ferrofluids.  相似文献

Here, we report dielectric behaviour of lanthanum substituted Ba0.80Pb0.20Ti0.90Zr0.10O3 (BPZT) ceramics. The material series with compositional formula Ba0.80−xLaxPb0.20Ti0.90Zr0.10O3 (BLPZT) with x varying from 0 to 0.01 in the steps of 0.0025 was chosen for investigations. The material was synthesized by solid state reaction method. Reacted powder compacted in form of circular discs were sintered at 1325 °C. All the samples were subjected to X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and found to be single phase. Dielectric behaviour was studied as a function of frequency and temperature and Curie temperature (Tc) was determined. Tc was found to decrease with increasing x. We provide experimental evidence for stretching and collapse of neutral polymer layers, already adsorbed at an oil-in-water interface, due to its interaction with surfactants. Upon stretching, the first interaction length (2L(0)) follows a power law dependence on surfactant concentration ( proportional, variant C(x)(s), where x approximately 0.5 for cationic surfactants) and collapses in the presence of salt, as a relatively weak power law (C(-y)(s), where y=0.17), in good agreement with brush length decay for polyelectrolyte brushes.  相似文献
