Differential cross sections of proton Compton scattering in the energy range between 450 and 950 MeV

The differential cross sections of the proton Compton scattering around the second resonance have been measured at a c.m. angle of 90° for incident photon energies between 450 MeV and 950 MeV in steps of 50 MeV, and at an angle of 60° for energies between 600 MeV and 800 MeV. The results show that the peak of the 2nd resonance agrees with that of the pion photoproduction process. We also calculated the proton Compton scattering based on unitarity and fixed-t dispersion relations. The calculation describes well the data of the cross section and the recoil proton polarization.     

Study of the extraction of vanadium(V)-N-p-octyloxybenzoyl-N-phenylhydroxylamine complexes from sulphuric acid solutions containing chloride, fluoride or thiocyanate

The extraction of vanadium(V)-N-p-octyloxybenzoyl-N-phenylhydroxylamine (OBPHA) complexes from sulphuric acid containing chloride, fluoride or thiocyanate is described. The purple, red and reddish blue complexes extracted, containing chloride, fluoride or thiocyanate, have molar absorptivities of 6.1 x 10(3), 5.08 x 10(3) and 7.9 x 10(3) 1.mole(-1) .cm(-1) with maximum absorption at 540, 490 and 570 nm, respectively. A spectrophotometric determination of vanadium(V) has been based on these results. The composition of the extracted complexes is estimated as V(V): OBPHA:X(-) = 1:2:1 (X(-) = Cl(-), F and SCN(-)).     

Measurement of the near-threshold e+e- --> D(*)+/-D(*)-/+ cross section using initial-state radiation

We report a measurement of the exclusive e+e- -->D(*)+/-D*-/+ cross section as a function of center-of-mass energy near the D(*)+/-D*-/+ threshold with initial-state radiation. A partial reconstruction technique is used to increase the efficiency and to suppress background. The analysis is based on a data sample collected with the Belle detector with an integrated luminosity of 547.8 fb(-1).     

Measurement of the e+e- -->pi+pi- J/psi cross section via initial-state radiation at Belle

The cross section for e(+)e(-)-->pi(+)pi(-)J/psi between 3.8 and 5.5 GeV/c(2) is measured using a 548 fb(-1) data sample collected on or near the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at KEKB. A peak near 4.25 GeV/c(2), corresponding to the so called Y(4260), is observed. In addition, there is another cluster of events at around 4.05 GeV/c(2). A fit using two interfering Breit-Wigner shapes describes the data better than one that uses only the Y(4260), especially for the lower-mass side of the 4.25 GeV enhancement.     

Supported ionic liquid catalyst (Pd-SILC) for highly efficient and recyclable Suzuki-Miyaura reaction

Highly efficient Suzuki-Miyaura coupling of aryl halides with arylboronic acid was realized in 50% aqueous ethanol at room temperature employing Pd(OAc)(2) immobilized in diethylaminopropylated (NDEAP) alumina pores with the aid of [bmim]PF(6), which enabled recycle use up to five times in 95% average yield and turnover number of two million.
