The binding energies of the two most external electrons in Mg- n, n=2-22, clusters are computed using the gradient-corrected density functional theory and a new scheme for converting the Kohn-Sham eigenenergies into electron removal energies. The computations are performed for the anionic clusters considered in the most stable configurations of both Mg- n and Mg n. The results are compared with photoelectron spectroscopy data [O. C. Thomas, following Letter, Phys. Rev. Lett. 89, 213403 (2002)]], and their implications for the finite-size analog of the nonmetal-to-metal transition are analyzed.  相似文献

A general formalism is developed, that allows the construction of field theory on quantum spaces which are deformations of ordinary spacetime. The symmetry group of spacetime is replaced by a quantum group. This formalism is demonstrated for the -deformed Poincaré algebra and its quantum space. The algebraic setting is mapped to the algebra of functions of commuting variables with a suitable -product. Fields are elements of this function algebra. As an example, the Klein-Gordon equation is defined and derived from an action.  相似文献

High-resolution optical coherence tomography demands a large detector bandwidth and a high numerical aperture for real-time imaging, which is difficult to achieve over a large imaging depth. To resolve these conflicting requirements we propose a novel multifocus fiber-based optical coherence tomography system with a micromachined array tip. We demonstrate the fabrication of a prototype four-channel tip that maintains a 9-14-microm spot diameter with more than 500 microm of imaging depth. Images of a resolution target and a human tooth were obtained with this tip by use of a four-channel cascaded Michelson fiber-optic interferometer, scanned simultaneously at 8 kHz with geometric power distribution across the four channels.  相似文献

The finite-difference time-domain method is a simple but powerful numerical method for simulating full-wave acoustic propagation and scattering. However, the method can demand a large amount of computational resources. Traditionally, continuously curved boundaries are represented in a stair-step fashion and thus accurately modeling scattering from a boundary will require a finer discretization than would otherwise be necessary for modeling propagation in a homogeneous medium. However, a fine discretization might not be practical due to limited computational resources. A locally conformal technique is presented here for modeling acoustic scattering from continuously curved rigid boundaries. This technique is low cost, simple to implement, and gives better results for the same grid discretization than the traditional stair-step representation. These improvements can be traded for a coarser discretization which reduces the computational burden. The improved accuracy of this technique is demonstrated for a spherical scatterer.  相似文献

Pyrrogallolarenes 2 were prepared by acid-catalyzed condensation of pyrrogallol with aldehydes. Compound 2a crystallizes from a methanol solution of quinuclidine hydrochloride to give a dimeric molecular capsule surrounding one disordered quinuclidinium cation. The molecules of 2a are connected by direct hydrogen bonds and by bridging methanol and water molecules. The chloride anion is positioned outside the capsule and is hydrogen bonded to the hydroxy groups of 2a. The shortest distance between the cation and anion was found to be 6.7 A. Crystallization of 2b from aqueous acetonitrile resulted in a dimeric capsule linked by a polar belt of 16 hydrogen bonding water molecules. Four acetonitrile molecules occupy the cavity of this dimeric capsule and assume two binding sites that differ in hydrogen bonding and electronic environment. Compounds 2 also form hydrogen-bonded dimeric molecular capsules in alcohols and aqueous acetonitrile solutions. These assemblies readily encapsulate tetramethylammonium, tetramethylphosphonium, quinuclidinium, and tropylium cations to give complexes stable on the NMR time scale at 233 K.  相似文献

In DMF-d7 tetrabenzimidazole cavitands 2 exist as monomeric species and vase-like conformers. Several possible arrangements of the four benzimidazole NHs are indicated by 1H NMR spectroscopy. The cavitands form 1:1 inclusion complexes with tetraethyl ammonium and phosphonium cations only when strong hydrogen bonding anions like chloride or acetate are present. These complexes are stable on the NMR time scale at 295 K feature a C2V-symmetrical arrangement of benzimidazole functions. The stability of the C2V-symmetrical tetramethylammonium acetate complex is independent of the temperature. In contrast, tetramethylammonium and phosphonium chloride complexes exist at 233 K as several isomers. This complicated behavior is, in part, attributed to the hydrogen bonding interactions between the anions and the NH groups of benzimidazole functions.  相似文献
