Racemic 6-gingerol can be obtained in a one-pot reaction by hexanal addition to the dianion of zingerone at low temperature. Similarly, addition of octanal or decanal to the dianion provides 8-gingerol or 10-gingerol, respectively. Acid treatment of the gingerols allows for formation of the corresponding shogaols.  相似文献

The effects of chain transfer agents (CTA) on cationic ring‐opening polymerization of 3,4‐epoxycyclohexylmethyl‐3′,4′‐epoxycyclohexane carboxylate (EEC) were explored. EEC was polymerized in the presence of various CTAs, and epoxide conversions monitored via Raman spectroscopy. Polymer films were prepared and analyzed by dynamic mechanical analysis. Many of the organic alcohols studied greatly enhanced epoxide polymerization rates and conversion levels. The gel fraction of polymer specimens decreased rapidly with increasing amounts of octanol (gel fraction >90% up to 0.3 equiv OH) but remained high with increasing amounts of 1,2‐propanediol (gel fraction >90% up to 0.6 equiv OH). Increasing the size of primary alcohols had little effect on the polymerization rates and conversions. The polymerization rate decreased with increasing alcohol substitution (1°>2°>3°). Acidic alcohols had very low impact on conversion and polymerization rates relative to the neat epoxy resin. In this paper we report a centrifugal microfluidic “lab-on-a-disc” system for at-line monitoring of human immunoglobulin G (hIgG) in a typical bioprocess environment. The novelty of this device is the combination of a heterogeneous sandwich immunoassay on a serial siphon-enabled microfluidic disc with automated sequential reagent delivery and surface-confined supercritical angle fluorescence (SAF)-based detection. The device, which is compact, easy-to-use and inexpensive, enables rapid detection of hIgG from a bioprocess sample. This was achieved with, an injection moulded SAF lens that was functionalized with aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) using plasma enhanced chemical vapour deposition (PECVD) for the immobilization of protein A, and a hybrid integration with a microfluidic disc substrate. Advanced flow control, including the time-sequenced release of on-board liquid reagents, was implemented by serial siphoning with ancillary capillary stops. The concentration of surfactant in each assay reagent was optimized to ensure proper functioning of the siphon-based flow control. The entire automated microfluidic assay process is completed in less than 30 min. The developed prototype system was used to accurately measure industrial bioprocess samples that contained 10 mg mL−1 of hIgG.  相似文献

The typical sidewalls produced in the fabrication of protrusion electrodes are proposed to create a low voltage (4.5 Vrms) and high transmittance (93%) blue-phase liquid crystal display (BP-LCD). The tilted electrodes produce a strong horizontal electrical field that reduces the operating voltage considerably. The common problem of the ‘dead zones’ is solved by reflecting the light onto the electrodes. In order to estimate the phase retardation of the reflected light, a ray tracing simulation program for anisotropic mediums has been developed. The proposed device is more competitive than vertical field switching based BP-LCD and also, has the advantages of protruded in-plane-switching structures. These facts make this technology a potential candidate for the next generation of BP-LCDs.  相似文献

Large-scale amine-based CO2 capture will generate waste containing large amounts of ammonia, in addition to contaminants such as the actual amine as well as degradation products thereof. Monoethanolamine (MEA) has been a dominant amine applied so far in this context. This study reveals how biological N removal can be achieved even in systems heavily contaminated by MEA in post- as well as pre-denitrification treatment systems, elucidating the rate-limiting factors of nitrification as well as aerobic and denitrifying biodegradation of MEA. The hydrolysis of MEA to ammonia readily occurred both in post- and pre-denitrification treatment systems with a hydraulic retention time of 7 h. MEA removal was ≥99?±?1 % and total nitrogen removal 77?±?10 % in both treatment systems. This study clearly demonstrates the advantage of pre-denitrification over post-denitrification for achieving biological nitrogen removal from MEA-contaminated effluents. Besides the removal of MEA, the removal efficiency of total nitrogen as well as organic matter was high without additional carbon source supplied.  相似文献

Gold nanoparticles capped with simple adenosine derivatives can form colloidal aggregates in nonpolar solvents. Theoretical calculations indicate the formation of organic channels by the supramolecular assembly of the nanoparticles by means of hydrogen bonds between the adenine moieties. The aggregates were only negligibly sensitive to nPrOH, iPrOH, and tBuOH, whereas some showed a similar response to MeOH and EtOH, and others showed high selectivity toward MeOH. DNA nucleoside derivatives (1‐(2‐deoxy‐β‐D ‐ribofuranosyl)‐5‐methyluracil and 2′,3′‐O‐isopropylideneadenosine) as well as thymine and other aromatic compounds such as pyrene derivatives (pyrene, 1‐chloropyrene, 1‐hydroxypyrene, (1‐pyrenyl)methanol, and 2‐hydroxynapthalene) did not induce disassembly of the nanoparticle aggregates. Data suggest that the nucleoside channels allow access to alcohols according to their size, and an efficient interaction between the alcohol and the adenine units destabilizes the hydrogen bonds, which eventually leads to nanoparticle disassembly.  相似文献

In this study, a generic extraction protocol and full-scan high-resolution Orbitrap-mass spectrometry (MS) detection method were developed, enabling the metabolomic screening for carotenoids in tomato fruit tissue. To this end, the carotenoids lutein, zeaxanthin, α-carotene, β-carotene, and lycopene (representing both xanthofylls and carotenes) were considered. The extraction procedure was optimized by means of a D-optimal design and consisted of a liquid–liquid extraction with methanol/tert-butyl methyl ether (1:1, v/v). The considered compounds were detected by a single-stage ExactiveTM mass spectrometer, operating at a mass resolution of 100,000 full width at half maximum. The validation study demonstrated excellent performance in terms of linearity (R 2?>?0.99), repeatability (CV?≤?10.6 %), within-laboratory reproducibility (CV?≤?12.2 %), and mean corrected recovery (ranging from 85 to 106 %). Additionally, a comparative evaluation towards well-established detection techniques, i.e., tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV–VIS) photodiode array, indicated superior performance of high-resolution Orbitrap-MS with regard to specificity/selectivity and sensitivity (with limits of detection ranging from 1.0 to 3.8 pg μL?1). As a result, it may be concluded that high-resolution Orbitrap-MS is a suited alternative for UV–VIS or MS/MS in analyzing carotenoids and may offer significant value in carotenoid research because of the metabolomic screening possibilities.

Lipophilic marine toxins are produced by harmful microalgae and can accumulate in edible filter feeders such as shellfish, leading to an introduction of toxins into the human food chain, causing different poisoning effects. During the last years, analytical methods, based on liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), have been consolidated by interlaboratory validations. However, the main drawback of LC-MS/MS methods remains the limited number of compounds that can be analyzed in a single run. Due to the targeted nature of these methods, only known toxins, previously considered during method optimization, will be detected. Therefore in this study, a method based on ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to high-resolution Orbitrap mass spectrometry (UHPLC-HR-Orbitrap MS) was developed. Its quantitative performance was evaluated for confirmatory analysis of regulated lipophilic marine toxins in shellfish flesh according to Commission Decision 2002/657/EC. Okadaic acid (OA), dinophysistoxin-1 (DTX-1), pectenotoxin-2 (PTX-2), azaspiracid-1 (AZA-1), yessotoxin (YTX), and 13-desmethyl spirolide C (SPX-1) were quantified using matrix-matched calibration curves (MMS). For all compounds, the reproducibility ranged from 2.9 to 4.9 %, repeatability from 2.9 to 4.9 %, and recoveries from 82.9 to 113 % at the three different spiked levels. In addition, confirmatory identification of the compounds was effectively performed by the presence of a second diagnostic ion (13C). In conclusion, UHPLC-HR-Orbitrap MS permitted more accurate and faster detection of the target toxins than previously described LC-MS/MS methods. Furthermore, HRMS allows to retrospectively screen for many analogues and metabolites using its full-scan capabilities but also untargeted screening through the use of metabolomics software. Figure
