The genus Acinetobacter has gained importance in recent years due to involvement in serious infections and antimicrobial resistance. Many plants have been evaluated not only for direct antimicrobial activity, but also as resistance modifying agents. The Essential oil of Citrus limon (EOCL) addition at 156.25?μgmL(-1) (MIC/8) sub-inhibitory concentration in the growth medium led to MIC decrease for amikacin, imipenem and meropenem. The Essential oil of Cinnamomum zeylanicum (EOCZ) addition at 78.125?μg?mL(-1) (MIC/8) sub-inhibitory concentrations in the growth medium caused drastic MIC reduction of amikacin. Results of combining antibiotics and essential oils had shown us a synergistic effect with both essential oils/amikacin combinations. An additive effect was observed with the combinations of both essential oils and gentamicin. The results of this study suggest that essential oil of C. limon and C. zeylanicum may suppress the growth of Acinetobacter species and could be a source of metabolites with antibacterial modifying activity. 相似文献

The synthesis of waterborne nanocomposites in semicontinuous emulsion polymerization was investigated using a theory-guided strategy with the aim of achieving the best balance among small particle size, low surfactant concentration, and sufficiently high solids content. It was found that both kinetic (monomer feeding rate, radical generation rate, and temperature) and colloidal (ionic strength and polymer hydrophilicity) aspects were critical in the process. Petroleum essentially consists of a mixture of organic compounds, mainly containing carbon and hydrogen, and, in minor quantities, compounds with nitrogen, sulphur, and oxygen. Some of these compounds, such as naphthenic acids, can cause corrosion in pipes and equipment used in processing plants. Considering that the methods of separation or clean up the target compounds in low concentrations and in complex matrix use large amounts of solvents or stationary phases, is necessary to study new methodologies that consume smaller amounts of solvent and stationary phases to identify the acid components present in complex matrix, such as crude oil samples. The proposed study aimed to recover acid compounds using the solid phase extraction method, employing different types of commercial stationary ion exchange phases (SAX and NH(2)) and new phase alumina functionalized with 1,4-bis(n-propyl)diazoniabicyclo[2.2.2]octane chloride silsesquioxane (Dab-Al(2)O(3)), synthesized in this work. Carboxylic acids were used as standard mixture in the solid phase extraction for further calculation of recovery yield. Then, the real sample (petroleum) was fractionated into saturates, aromatics, resins, and asphaltenes, and the resin fraction of petroleum (B1) was eluted through stationary ion exchange phases. The stationary phase synthesized in this work showed an efficiency of ion exchange comparable to that of the commercial stationary phases. 相似文献

In this review sample preparation strategies used for crude oil digestion in last ten years are discussed focusing on further metals and non-metals determination. One of the main challenges of proposed methods has been to overcome the difficulty to bring crude oil samples into solution, which should be compatible with analytical techniques used for element determination. On this aspect, this review summarizes the sample preparation methods for metals and non metals determination in crude oil including those based on wet digestion, combustion, emulsification, extraction, sample dilution with organic solvents, among others. Conventional methods related to wet digestion with concentrated acids or combustion are also covered, with special emphasis to closed systems. Trends in sample digestion, such as microwave-assisted digestion using diluted acids combined with high-efficiency decomposition systems are discussed. On the other hand, strategies based on sample dilution in organic solvents and procedures recommended for speciation analysis are reported as well as the use of direct analysis in view of the recent importance for crude oil field. A compilation concerning sample preparation for crude oil provided by official methods as well as certified reference materials available for accuracy evaluation is also presented and discussed. 相似文献

Solid lipid nanoparticles (SLN) without drug and SLN loaded with chloroaluminum phthalocyanine (AlClPc) were prepared by solvent
diffusion method in aqueous system and characterized by thermal analyses and X-ray diffraction (XRD) in this study. Determination
of particle size, zeta potential (ZP), and encapsulation efficiency were also evaluated. SLN containing AlClPc of nanometer
size with high encapsulation efficiency and ZP were obtained. The results indicated that the size of SLN loaded with AlClPc
is larger than that of the inert particle, but ZP is not changed significantly with incorporation of the drug. In differential
scanning calorimetry (DSC) curves, it was observed that the melting point of stearic acid (SA) isolated and in SLN occurred
at 55 and 64 °C, respectively, suggesting the presence of different polymorphs. DSC also shows that the crystallinity state
of SLN was much less than that of SA isolated. The incorporation of drug in SLN may have been favored by this lower crystallinity
degree of the samples. XRD techniques corroborated with the thermal analytic techniques, suggesting the polymorphic modifications

In this article, we conducted an extensive ab initio study on the importance of the level of theory and the basis set for theoretical predictions of the structure and reactivity of cisplatin [cis‐diamminedichloroplatinum(II) (cDDP)]. Initially, the role of the basis set for the Pt atom was assessed using 24 different basis sets, including three all‐electron basis sets (ABS). In addition, a modified all‐electron double zeta polarized basis set (mDZP) was proposed by adding a set of diffuse d functions onto the existing DZP basis set. The energy barrier and the rate constant for the first chloride/water exchange ligand process, namely, the aquation reaction, were taken as benchmarks for which reliable experimental data are available. At the B3LYP/mDZP/6‐31+G(d) level (the first basis set is for Pt and the last set is for all of the light atoms), the energy barrier was 22.8 kcal mol?1, which is in agreement with the average experimental value, 22.9 ± 0.4 kcal mol?1. For the other accessible ABS (DZP and ADZP), the corresponding values were 15.4 and 24.5 kcal mol?1, respectively. The ADZP and mDZP are notably similar, raising the importance of diffuse d functions for the prediction of the kinetic properties of cDDP. In this article, we also analyze the ligand basis set and the level of theory effects by considering 36 basis sets at distinct levels of theory, namely, Hartree‐Fock, MP2, and several DFT functionals. From a survey of the data, we recommend the mPW1PW91/mDZP/6‐31+G(d) or B3PW91/mDZP/6‐31+G(d) levels to describe the structure and reactivity of cDDP and its small derivatives. Conversely, for large molecules containing a cisplatin motif (for example, the cDDP‐DNA complex), the lower levels B3LYP/LANL2DZ/6‐31+G(d) and B3LYP/SBKJC‐VDZ/6‐31+G(d) are suggested. At these levels of theory, the predicted energy barrier was 26.0 and 25.9 kcal mol?1, respectively, which is only 13% higher than the actual value. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 相似文献

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of the laser radiation (685 nm) associated with photosensitizers on viability of different species of Candida genus. Suspensions of Candida albicans, Candida dubliniensis, Candida krusei and Candida tropicalis, containing 10(6) viable cells per milliliter were obtained with the aid of a Neubauer's chamber. From each species, 10 samples of the cell suspension were irradiated with diode laser (685 nm) with 28 J/cm2 in the presence of methylene blue (0.1 mg/ml), 10 samples were only treated with methylene blue, 10 samples were irradiated with laser in the absence of the dye, 10 samples were treated with the dye and irradiated with laser light and 10 samples were exposed to neither the laser light nor to the methylene blue dye. From each sample, serial dilutions of 10(-2) and 10(-3) were obtained and aliquots of 0.1 ml of each dilution were plated in duplicate on Sabouraud dextrose agar. After incubation at 37 degrees C for 48 h, the number of colony-forming units (CFU/ml) was obtained and data were submitted to ANOVA and Tukey's test (p<0.05). Laser radiation in the presence of methylene blue reduced the number of CFU/ml in 88.6% for C. albicans, 84.8% for C. dubliniensis, 91.6% for C. krusei and 82.3% for C. tropicalis. Despite this, only laser radiation or methylene blue did not reduce significantly the number of CFU/ml of Candida samples, except for C. tropicalis. It could be concluded that the photo activation of methylene blue by the red laser radiation at 685 nm presented fungicide effect on all Candida species studied. 相似文献

A method for light and heavy crude oil digestion using microwave-induced combustion (MIC) in closed vessels is described for further determination of Ag, As, Ba, Bi, Ca, Cd, Cr, Fe, K, Mg, Li, Mn, Mo, Ni, Pb, Rb, Se, Sr, Tl, V, and Zn by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Conventional microwave-assisted acid digestion (MW-AD) in pressurized vessels and analyte determination by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP OES) were also used for results comparison. For MIC procedure, samples were wrapped in polyethylene films and combusted using 20 bar of oxygen and 50 µl of 6 mol l− 1 ammonium nitrate as aid for ignition. The concentration of nitric acid used as absorbing solution was evaluated (1, 2, 4, 7, 10 and 14 mol l− 1) using an additional reflux step after combustion. Accuracy was evaluated for As, Ba, Ni, Se V, and Zn using certified reference material (CRM) with similar matrix composition and for Cr, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, and Mo by neutron activation analysis (NAA). Recovery tests were also performed for all the analytes by MIC and they were better than 97% using 2 mol l− 1 nitric acid as absorbing solution (with reflux step). Agreement with certified values and NAA results was better than 95%. Using MIC it was possible to obtain lower limits of detection (LODs) by ICP-MS and also by ICP OES in comparison with those obtained by MW-AD. In spite of both sample preparation techniques were apparently suitable for crude oil digestion, MIC was preferable in view of the possibility of using diluted nitric acid as absorbing solution that is an important aspect to minimize interferences by ICP-MS and ICP OES. In order to avoid polyatomic interferences on 52Cr and 56Fe determinations by ICP-MS, a dynamic reaction cell with ammonia gas was used. Residual carbon content in digests obtained by MW-AD and MIC was 15% and < 1%, respectively. Using MIC the simultaneous digestion of 8 samples was possible in less than 30 min. 相似文献

Skin exposure to UVB radiation has been reported to produce both a significant inflammatory response and marked immunosuppression. This work was aimed to evaluate whether the response of murine skin to an acute UVB dose was modified by pre-exposure to chronic UVB irradiation and by topical treatment with naproxen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Moreover, the effect of naproxen on the incidence of UV-induced skin tumors was studied. Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2 ) and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) levels were increased 96 h post-UVB in acutely irradiated animals and both mediators were modified by topical naproxen application—PGE2 was decreased while TNF-α was increased. Such inflammatory response was suppressed when mice were chronically irradiated. Naproxen application on chronically irradiated mice reduced the incidence of tumor lesions. Taken together, our data suggest that chronic UVB irradiation generates an immunosuppressive state that prevents skin cells from responding normally to an acute irradiation challenge, thus impairing the protective effect of TNF-α against skin tumor development. Furthermore, reduction in the incidence of tumor lesions by naproxen may be due to its ability to increase TNF-α levels as well as to decrease PGE2 . 相似文献
