It has been speculated that the presence of OH(H2O)n clusters in the troposphere could have significant effects on the solar absorption balance and the reactivity of the hydroxyl radical. We have used the G3 and G3B3 model chemistries to model the structures and predict the frequencies of hydroxyl radical/water clusters containing one to five water molecules. The reaction between hydroxyl radical clusters and methane was examined as a function of water cluster size to gain an understanding of how cluster size affects the hydroxyl radical reactivity.  相似文献

Supramolecular gels are soft materials formed mainly by low molecular weight units held together by intermolecular interactions. Stabilizing these kinds of materials is quite a challenge due to the influence of multiple factors interfering with the integrity of the supramolecular structure. In our previous studies, we have shown that the aminocarbohydrate meglumine (MEG) interacts with organic acids by ion-pairing leading to the formation of MEG–carboxylate adducts. These adducts undergo supramolecular polymerization by heat treatment, but the macromolecular assembly was stable for a short period due to hydrogen bond (H-bond) breakup. Herein, we attempt to study the influence of hydrophobic building blocks on the formation of these compounds aiming to stabilize H-bonds to produce polymerizable supra-amphiphiles in water. Oleic acid and stearic acid are two analogous fatty acids differing only in the presence of unsaturation that were used in our studies. Results demonstrated that the presence of unsaturation hinders gelation in water by interfering with the self-assembly behavior of supra-amphiphiles. Thus, unsaturated supra-amphiphiles behave like traditional surfactants and gelify water at high concentrations (above 30% w/w). On the other hand, supramolecular gels with a polymer-like behavior could be produced with a saturated supra-amphiphile in water (above 4% w/w). The material was characterized by a lamellar arrangement that facilitates the alignment of H-bonds necessary to stabilize the self-assembled structure. These results have pivotal importance on the design of polymerizable supra-amphiphiles and demonstrate that the double bond of hydrophobic building blocks is an important design factor to be considered by scientists studying similar materials.  相似文献

An optional approach in the meteorological service Quality Management System (QMS) based on the case study of the Republic Hydrometeorological Service (MHS) of Serbia is presented and discussed in this paper. The idea is to use the ISO/IEC 17025 standard as a base for its QMS development. Main reasons for such a decision and the elements of the implemented solution are presented and discussed. Meteorological testing processes of the MHS of Serbia and relevant ISO/IEC 17025 scope of accreditation are presented. After establishing competencies in meteorological, environmental, and hydrological testing, the MHS of Serbia will develop an integrative ISO 9001 QMS. The Serbian case study could be taken into consideration as one of the options related to the future World Meteorological Organization Quality Management Framework.  相似文献

The viscoelastic behavior of a polystyrene matrix filled with hematite nanoparticles was investigated using the stress relaxation method. An increase in the elastic moduli of the composites, as well as in the magnitude of stress relaxation was found with increasing content of the inorganic phase. The possibility of interlayer mixing in a Ti/Ta multilayer system, induced by laser irradiation, was the main purpose of these experiments. Ti/Ta multilayer system, consisting of ten alternating Ti and Ta thin films and covered by slightly thicker Ti layer, was deposited on Si (100) wafers to a total thickness of 205 nm. Laser irradiation was performed in air by picoseconds Nd:YAG laser pulses in defocused regime with fluences of 0.057 and 0.11 J cm?2. Laser beam was scanned over the 5?×?5 mm surface area with different steps along y-axes. Structural and compositional characterisation was done by auger electron spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. Laser processing at lower fluence caused only oxidation of the top Ti layer, despite of the number of applied laser pulses. Interlayer mixing was not observed. Application of laser pulses at fluence of 0.11 J cm?2 caused partial and/or complete ablation of deposited layers. In partially ablated regions considerable mixing between Ti and Ta films was registered.  相似文献

The changes of optical properties under boundary presence in molecular crystal nanofilm were theoretically investigated in this work. The dispersion law and states of excitons as well as their space distribution along boundary direction have been determined using adjusted Green's function method and also by combined analytical and numerical calculations. On the basis of real and imaginary part of relative permittivity, both absorption and refraction indices were determined, and the influences of boundary parameters on occurrence of a very selective and strictly discrete absorption were analyzed.  相似文献

Experiments in a refractive index matched pipe flow facility were conducted using state-of-the-art laser-Doppler anemometry to study turbulent drag reduction by dilute addition of high polymers. The results were analyzed employing the invariant theory of turbulence. It was thus possible to confirm the major conclusion of preceding theoretical work, namely that the mechanism of drag reduction by long-chain polymers is associated with an increase in anisotropy of turbulence at the wall. Furthermore, theoretical considerations based on the elastic behavior of a polymer and spatial intermittency of turbulence at small scales enabled quantitative estimates to be made for the relaxation time of a polymer and its concentration that ensures maximum drag reduction. The alternating step generator is a well-known keystream generator consisting of two stop/go clocked LFSRs, LFSR1 and LFSR2, whose clocks are controlled by another LFSR, LFSR3, which is clocked regularly. A probabilistic analysis of this generator is conducted which shows that the posterior probabilites of individual bits of the first derivatives of the regularly clocked LFSR1 and LFSR2 sequences, when conditioned on a given segment of the first derivative of the keystream sequence, can be computed efficiently in a number of probabilistic models of interest. The expected values of these probabilities, for a random keystream sequence, are derived by an approximate theoretical analysis and are also verified by systematic computer experiments. It is pointed out that these posterior probabilities can be enhanced in a resynchronization scenario and thus used for a low-complexity fast correlation attack on the two LFSRs. More generally, it is argued that even without resynchronization these probabilities may be significantly different from one half for fast correlation attacks based on iterative decoding algorithms to be successful, although with incresead complexity. A related method for computing the posterior probabilities of individual bits of the LFSR3 sequence, when conditioned on both the keystream sequence and the LFSR1 and LFSR2 sequences, is also developed. As these posterior probabilities are much more different from one half, they can be used for a low-complexity fast correlation attack on LFSR3, provided that the initial states of LFSR1 and LFSR2 are previously reconstructed.  相似文献
