A fast, simple and sensitive liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS) method was developed for the determination of acetylcholine in rat brain microdialysis samples. The chromatographic separation was achieved in 3 min on a reversed-phase column with isocratic conditions using a mobile phase containing 2% (v/v) of acetonitrile and 0.05% (v/v) of trifluoroacetic acid (TFA). A stable isotope-labeled internal standard was included in the analysis and detection was carried out with a linear ion trap mass spectrometer using selected reaction monitoring (SRM). Analyte ionization was performed with an atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI) source without applying discharge current (atmospheric pressure spray ionization). This special ionization technique offered significant advantages over electrospray ionization for the analysis of acetylcholine with reversed-phase ion-pairing chromatography. The lower limit of quantification was 0.15 nM (1.5 fmol on-column) and linearity was maintained over the range of 0.15-73 nM, providing a concentration range that is significantly wider than that of the existing LC/MS methods. Good accuracy and precision were obtained for concentrations within the standard curve range. Electrically and thermally conductive high‐density polyethylene composites filled with hybrid fillers, multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and silver nanoparticles (Ag‐NPs), have been prepared in the melt state. The investigation of their electrical and thermal conductivities while comparing with high‐density polyethylene/MWCNT binary composites shows that the addition of only 3 vol% of Ag‐NPs does not reduce the electrical percolation threshold (Pc) that remains as low as 0.40 vol% of MWCNTs but leads to an increase in the maximum dc electrical conductivity of PE/MWCNT composites by two orders of magnitudes. Fluorescent sunlamps are commonly employed as convenient sources in photobiology experiments. The ability of Kodacel to filter photobiologically irrelevant UVC wavelengths has been described. Yet there still remains a major unaddressed issue--the over representation of UVB in the output. The shortest terrestrial solar wavelengths reaching the surface are approximately 295 nm with the 295-320 nm range comprising approximately 4% of the solar UV irradiance. In Kodacel-filtered sunlamps, 47% of the UV output falls in this range. Consequently, in studies designed to understand skin photobiology after solar exposure, the use of these unfiltered sunlamps may result in misleading, or even incorrect conclusions. To demonstrate the importance of using an accurate representation of the UV portion of sunlight, the ability of different ultraviolet radiation (UVR) sources to induce the expression of a reporter gene was assayed. Unfiltered fluorescent sunlamps (FS lamps) induce optimal chloramphenicol acetyltransferase (CAT) activity at apparently low doses (10-20 J/cm2). Filtering the FS lamps with Kodacel raised the delivered dose for optimal CAT activity to 50-60 mJ/cm2. With the more solar-like UVA-340 lamps somewhat lower levels of CAT activities were induced even though the apparent delivered doses were significantly greater than for either the FS or Kodacel-filtered sunlamp (KFS lamps). When DNA from parallel-treated cells was analyzed for photoproduct formation by a radioimmuneassay, it was shown that the induction of CAT activity correlated with the level of induced photoproduct formation regardless of the source employed. 相似文献

The renormalized quasiparticle random-phase approximation (RQRPA) is analyzed by the use of sum-rule techniques in realistic
model calculations. It is found that the RQRPA does not satisfy the Gamow-TellerS

+=3(N − Z) sum rule and that the violation mostly comes from theS
− part of it. The violation also seems to be mass-dependent increasing towards lighter masses. At the same time also the double
Gamow-Teller sum rule is seen to be violated. Possible restoration of the sum rule is seen in the inclusion of the scattering

We introduce a concept to control the spectral and dichroic properties of metamaterials. The approach is based on anisotropic metal nanoparticles and on varying their mutual orientation in a periodic lattice. Even seemingly inconsequential changes in particle ordering strongly modify the dichroic properties of the arrays and result in either very narrow resonances or ultrabroad extinction ranges. The results arise from long-range diffractive coupling between the particles, as determined by the dependence of the array unit cell size on particle ordering. 相似文献

Given a negatively curved geodesic metric space M, we study the asymptotic penetration behaviour of geodesic lines of M in small neighbourhoods of closed geodesics and of other compact convex subsets of M. We define a spiraling spectrum which gives precise information on the asymptotic spiraling lengths of geodesic lines around these objects. We prove analogs of the theorems of Dirichlet, Hall and Cusick in this context. As a consequence, we obtain Diophantine approximation results of elements of ${\mathbb{R},\mathbb{C}}$ or the Heisenberg group by quadratic irrational ones. 相似文献
