Generation of Stable Phosphorus Heterofullerenes in a Radiofrequency Furnace For the first time, phosphorus heterofullerenes, mainly C₅₉P and C₆₉P have been produced, and identified by mass spectroscopy. Their chemical properties have been characterized with respect to their behaviour at sublimation as well as to solubility and to sensivity to air. The formation of these heterofullerenes was achieved by evaporating phosphorus and carbon simultaneously, however, at different positions, that is at different temperatures, in a radiofrequency furnace.     

On the evaluation of spin–orbit coupling matrix elements in a spin‐adapted basis

In the present article, we outline a simple scheme for generating configuration interaction matrix elements for spin–orbit interactions in molecules. The procedure leads to a close parallelism with spin‐free permutation‐group approaches. Unitary shift operators were successfully used on the orbital space to generate the matching permutations necessary to evaluate the required matrix elements. High-Resolution 14N Solid-State NMR Spectroscopy

Even without expensive isotope enrichment, it is possible to obtain nitrogen NMR parameters in the solid state. The isotropic chemical shifts in hexagonal and cubic boron nitride, and for the hexagonal modification also the quadrupole coupling, can thus be obtained for the first time. The recorded ¹⁴N MAS NMR spectrum (28.809 MHz) of hexagonal boron nitride is shown on the right.
