Hydrolysis and speciation of aluminium sulfate octadecahydrate Al2(SO4)3·18H2OAl2(SO4)3·18H2O was studied by electrospray time of flight mass spectrometry (ESI TOF MS). Several novel polymeric species were determined. Highly charged polymers, characterized by other methods, such as the Keggin cation [Al13O4(OH)24(H2O)12]7+ and the octameric aluminium hydroxide cluster [Al8(OH)14(H2O)18](SO4)5 16H2O, were found using ESI-MS as the anions [Al13O4(OH)25(SO4)4]2− and [Al8O(OH)14(SO4)5(H2O)4]2−. All the main species identified contained sulfate or hydrogen sulfate. The compositions of the determined ions mimicked those of several stable mineral forms.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to clarify the possibilities to increase the amount of soluble chemical oxygen demand (SCOD) and methane production of sludge using ultrasound technologies with and without oxidising agents. The study was done using multivariate data analyses. The most important factors affected were discovered. Ultrasonically assisted disintegration increased clearly the amount of SCOD of sludge. Also more methane was produced from treated sludge in anaerobic batch assays compared to the sludge with no ultrasonic treatment. Multivariate data analysis showed that ultrasonic power, dry solid content of sludge (DS), sludge temperature and ultrasonic treatment time have the most significant effect on the disintegration. It was also observed that in the reactor studied energy efficiency with high ultrasound power together with short treatment time was higher than with low ultrasound power with long treatment time. When oxidising agents were used together with ultrasound no increase in SCOD was achieved compared the ultrasonic treatment alone and only a slight increase in total organic carbon of sludge was observed. However, no enhancement in methane production was observed when using oxidising agents together with ultrasound compared the ultrasonic treatment alone. Ultrasound propagation is an important factor in ultrasonic reactor scale up. Ultrasound efficiency rose linearly with input power in sludge at small distances from the transducer. Instead, ultrasound efficiency started even to decrease with input power at long distances from the transducer.  相似文献

This paper addresses the use of different slotted pores in rotating membrane emulsification technology.Pores of square and rectangular shapes were studied to understand the effect of aspect ratio (1-3.5) and their orientation on oil droplet formation.Increasing the membrane rotation speed decreased the droplet size,and the oil droplets produced were more uniform using slotted pores as compared to circular geometry.At a given rotation speed,the droplet size was mainly determined by the pore size and the fluid velocity of oil through the pore (pore fluid velocity).The ratio of droplet diameter to the equivalent diameter of the slotted pore increased with the pore fluid velocity.At a given pore fluid velocity and rotation speed,pore orientation significantly influences the droplet formation rate: horizontally disposed pores (with their longer side perpendicular to the membrane axis) generate droplets at double the rate of vertically disposed pores.This work indicates practical benefits in the use of slotted membranes over conventional methods.  相似文献

A novel microwave approach to the synthesis of tangutorine is described. The key steps comprise a diastereoselective aldol condensation of monoprotected glutaraldehyde and a microwave-assisted Pictet–Spengler reaction. The stereochemistry of the tangutorine diastereomers obtained was determined by means of NOE-experiments.  相似文献

Earlier characterization of some hydrolysis products of AlCl3·6H2O was confirmed by electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry with increasing collision energy of projectile ions. At lower collision energies, the aqua ligands were stripped off. At higher energies, two hydroxo groups formed a bridging oxo group with loss of one water molecule. Aluminum complexes could also capture aqua ligands in the collision chamber so long as the parent ion did not fragment, and the fragment ion spectra broadened toward higher m/z values. The objective of this work was to use both X‐ray and differential scanning calorimetry techniques in a comparative study of the lamellar and crystalline structures of heterogeneous and homogeneous ethylene‐α‐copolymers. The samples differed in the comonomer type (1‐butene, 1‐hexene, 1‐octene, and hexadecene), comonomer content, and catalyst used in the polymerizations. Step crystallizations were performed with differential scanning calorimetry, and the crystallinity and lamellar thicknesses of the different crystal populations were determined. Wide‐angle X‐ray scattering was used to determine crystallinities, average sizes of the crystallites, and dimensions of the orthorhombic unit cell. The average thickness, separation of the lamellae, and volume fractions of the crystalline phase were determined by small‐angle X‐ray scattering (SAXS). The results revealed that at densities below 900 kg/m3, polymers were organized as poorly organized crystal bundles. The lamellar distances were smaller and the lamellar thickness distributions were narrower for the homogeneous ethylene copolymers than for the heterogeneous ones. A methodology is proposed for predicting the effective thermal conductivity of dilute suspensions of nanoparticles (nanofluids) based on rheology.The methodology uses the rheological data to infer microstructures of nanoparticles quantitatively,which is then incorporated into the conventional Hamilton-Crosser equation to predict the effective thermal conductivity of nanofluids.The methodology is experimentally validated using four types of nanofluids made of titania nanoparticles and titanate nanotubes dispersed in water and ethylene glycol.And the modified Hamilton-Crosser equation successfully predicted the effective thermal conductivity of the nanofluids.  相似文献

Hydrogen is expected to play an important role in future transportation as a promising alternative clean energy source to carbon-based fuels.One of the key challenges to commercialize hydrogen energy is to develop appropriate onboard hydrogen storage systems,capable of charging and discharging large quantities of hydrogen with fast enough kinetics to meet commercial requirements.Metal organic framework (MOF) is a new type of inorganic and organic hybrid nanoporous particulate materials.Its diverse networks can enhance hydrogen storage through tuning the structure and property of MOFs.The MOF materials so far developed adsorb hydrogen through weak disperston interactions,which allow significant quantity of hydrogen to be stored at cryogenic temperatures with fast kinetics.Novel MOFs are being developed to strengthen the interactions between hydrogen and MOFs in order to store hydrogen under ambient conditions.This review surveys the development of such candidate materials,their performance and future research needs.  相似文献
