The effect of methyl, hydroxyl, and chloride substituents in position 3 of the 3′,4′,7‐trihydroxyflavylium core structure was studied. The stability, relative energy of each of chemical species (thermodynamics), and their rates of interconversion (kinetics) are very dependent on these substituents. By comparing the mole fraction distribution at equilibrium of the three multistate systems with the parent 3′,4′,7‐trihydroxyflavylium, introduction of a methyl substituent in position 3 increases the mole fraction of hemiketal at the expense of the trans‐chalcone and increases the hydration rate very significantly; a hydroxyl substituent in position 3 gives rise to a degradation process, as observed in anthocyanidins. In the case of 3‐chloro‐3′,4′,7‐trihydroxyflavylium, a dramatic increase of the flavylium cation acidity was observed and a photochromic system can be operated upon irradiation of the respective trans‐chalcone in 1 m HCl. According to the photochromic response of 3,3′,4′,7‐tetrahydroxyflavylium and 3′,4′,7‐trihydroxyflavylium, some requirements for a good photochromic performance are discussed.  相似文献

Plasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) membranes of different compositions were tested for use in the construction of potentiometric flow detectors for triiodide. A membrane with a 2:1 (w/w) 2-nitrophenyl octyl ether to PVC ratio was selected. The influence of thiosulphate in the carrier solution composition and of the flow-injection variables on the determination of triiodide was studied. In the selected conditions, a linear relationship between peak height and log[I3] was obtained between 5 × 10−6 and 1 × 10−4 mol l−1 triiodide. Peak height relative standard deviations for 2 × 10−5 and 1 × 10−4 mol l−1 triiodide were ±0.4 and ±1.8%, respectively, and sampling frequency was 80 samples per hour. The method proposed was applied satisfactorily to the iodometric determination of different chlorine-containing disinfectants, among them trichloroisocyanuric acid and dichloroisocyanurate in several types of commercial sample.  相似文献

Copper(II) complexes of N-benzothiazolesulfonamides (HL1=N-2-(4-methylphenylsulfamoyl)-6-nitro-benzothiazole, HL2=N-2-(phenylsulfamoyl)-6-chloro-benzothiazole, and HL3=N-2-(4-methylphenylsulfamoyl)-6-chloro-benzothiazole) with ammonia have been synthesized and characterized. The crystal structures of the [Cu(L1)2(NH3)2].2MeOH, [Cu(L2)2(NH3)2], and [Cu(L3)2(NH3)2] compounds have been determined. Compounds and present a distorted square planar geometry. In both compounds the metal ion is coordinated by two benzothiazole N atoms from two sulfonamidate anions and two NH3 molecules. Complex is distorted square-pyramidal. The Cu(II) ion is linked to the benzothiazole N and sulfonamidate O atoms of one of the ligands, the benzothiazole N of another sulfonamidate anion, and two ammonia N atoms. We have tested the superoxide dismutase (SOD)-like activity of the compounds and compared it with that of two dinuclear compounds [Cu2(L4)2(OCH3)2(NH3)2] and [Cu2(L4)2(OCH3)2(dmso)2] (HL4=N-2-(phenylsulfamoyl)-4-methyl-benzothiazole). In vitro indirect assays show that the dimeric complexes are better SOD mimics than the monomeric ones. We have also assayed the protective action provided by the compounds against reactive oxygen species over Deltasod1 mutant of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. In contrast to the in vitro results, the mononuclear compounds were more protective to SOD-deficient S. cerevisiae strains than the dinuclear complexes.  相似文献
