This paper describes the application of Raman spectroscopy to the detection of exogenous substances in latent fingerprints. The scenario considered was that of an individual handling a substance and subsequently depositing a contaminated fingerprint. Five drugs of abuse (codeine phosphate, cocaine hydrochloride, amphetamine sulphate, barbital and nitrazepam) and five non-controlled substances of similar appearance, which may be used in the adulteration of drugs of abuse (caffeine, aspirin, paracetamol, starch and talc), were studied in both sweat-rich and sebum-rich latent fingerprints. The substances studied could be clearly distinguished using their Raman spectra and were all successfully detected in latent fingerprints. Photobleaching was necessary to reduce the fluorescence background in the spectra of some substances. Raman spectra obtained from the substances in sweat-rich latent fingerprints were of a similar quality to spectra that obtained from the substances under normal sampling conditions. Interfering Raman bands arising from latent fingerprint material were present in the spectra obtained from the substances in sebum-rich fingerprints. These bands did not prevent identification of the substances and could be successfully removed by spectral subtraction. The most difficult aspect of the detection of these substances in latent fingerprints was visually locating the substance in the fingerprint in order to obtain a Raman spectrum.  相似文献

The nonlinear diffusion equationu t=[f(u)g(u x )] arises in recent models of turbulent transport and of stress dissipation in rock blasting. A Lie point symmetry analysis produces many similarity reductions of exponential and power-law forms, and reveals that for all choices off the equation is always integrable wheng(u x )=1/u x . We identify the functionsf(u) which guarantee equivalence to the linear heat equation. For all other choices off, the linear canonical form leads to a self-adjoint differential equation by separation of variablesx andt. We construct a number of explicit solutions with simple boundary conditions, which illustrate behavior in the vicinity of the degenerate region withu x =. If zero flux and constant concentration are maintained on free boundaries, then steep concentration gradients may evolve from smooth initial conditions. Crystal structures of two title compounds and several their relatives known earlier reveal conservative and characteristic features, which may be related to their tuberculostatic activity. The molecules are predominantly planar due to conjugation through five successive bonds in the zwitterionic fragment S–C(sp2)–N–NH+–C(sp2)–NH2 and intramolecular hydrogen bonds, which prevent rotation of the adjacent pyrazine (or pyridine) ring. It has been suggested that in spatial sense such planar molecules resemble acridines intercalating with nucleic acids and that similar process may be responsible for tuberculostatic activity of the title pyrazine-2-carboxamide-N′-carbonothioyl-hydrazones.  相似文献

An original computer-controlled solid-state photometer has been developed and its potential for simultaneous multicomponent flow-injection analysis of binary and ternary mixtures is demonstrated. The device is simple in construction. Its principle of operation is based on rapid sequential measurements of the absorbance of the complexes formed by the analytes with chromogenic reagents at the wavelengths corresponding to the emission maxima of three light emitting diodes (563, 580 and 638 nm).  相似文献

Laboratory batch studies were conducted to evaluate the binding capacity and the mobility of metal species bound to typical humus peat matter. The identification of phase composition of mineral fractions and functional groups in the organic matter was assessed. The results showed generally high, but different retention capacity and binding strength, suggesting distinct diversity in binding mechanisms, phases and chemical nature of binding sites, depending on the metal species and their input concentrations. In general, the binding capacity of peat for the metal ions studied follows the order: Cr(3+) > Cu(2+) > Zn(2+) > Cd(2+) and results in the decrease of pH in the same order, due to displacement of H(3)O(+) from the peat by metal ions. The highest metal enrichment occurs in fractions F1(EXC), F2(CARB), F4(MRO) and F5(OM) of different binding strength adequate to exchangeable, carbonatic, moderately reducible amorphous Fe-oxide and organic/ sulphidic fractions in soils and sediments. In relation to species distribution in peats, the prevailing part of Cr(3+) is strongly bound in oxidizable organic substrate, while Cu(2+) is highly enriched in the moderately reducible F4(MRO) and the most labile F2(EXC) fractions. Cd(2+) and Zn(2+) are predominantly bound in the labile F1(EXC) and F2(CARB) fractions. Diversity of the predominant binding phases for the studied metals suggests rather weak competition for binding sites between chromium and copper ions; the strongest competition between the sorbed metal ions is anticipated for F1(EXC) and F2(CARB) fractions.  相似文献

Lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) and phosphatidic acid (PA) are potent bioactive lipid mediators of signal transduction and are inactivated by phosphatases. To obtain receptor-isoform selective ligands with neutral phosphomimetic head groups, we performed the stereoselective synthesis of LPA and PA analogues with trifluoromethanesulfonamide and trifluoromethanesulfonamidoxy moieties replacing the phosphomonoester.  相似文献
