Mullite is an aluminosilicate widely used as a structural material for high temperature applications. This paper studies the effect of the gelation temperature on the synthesis of two mullite precursors: polymeric and colloidal silica, using both in fully-hydrolyzed silica sol, derived from sodium silicate. The gels were synthesized using aqueous silicic acid and aluminum nitrate. Ethylene glycol was added into polymeric gels. Two gelation temperatures were used: 80 and 100 °C. In the polymeric precursor, the increasing of the gelation temperature caused an increase in the silica incorporation inside the mullite crystalline lattice at 1,000 °C, and it also generated an increase in the reaction extent at all calcination temperatures. In the colloidal precursors, these effects were more intense than in the polymeric precursors in terms of yield. Colloidal samples calcined at 1,250 °C crystallized cristobalite and alpha alumina in addition to mullite when they were previously gelled at 80 °C. On the other hand, the same sample gelled at 100 °C led to only crystallized mullite. The reaction extent increased by more than 20 % for colloidal samples gelled at 100 °C compared to colloidal samples gelled at 80 °C (calcined at 1,250 °C). This increase was due to the almost total incorporation of alumina and silica in the crystalline lattice of mullite.  相似文献

A global ab initio potential energy surface is proposed for the water molecule by energy-switching/merging a highly accurate isotope-dependent local potential function reported by Polyansky et al. [Science 299, 539 (2003)] with a global form of the many-body expansion type suitably adapted to account explicitly for the dynamical correlation and parametrized from extensive accurate multireference configuration interaction energies extrapolated to the complete basis set limit. The new function mimics also the complicated Sigma/Pi crossing that arises at linear geometries of the water molecule.  相似文献

We study a site analogue of directed percolation. Random trajectories are generated and their critical behavior is studied. The critical behavior corresponds to that of simple percolation in some of the parameter space, but elsewhere the exponents reveal new universality classes. As a byproduct, we use the model to make an improved estimate of the percolation hull exponents and to calculate the site percolation probability for the square lattice.  相似文献

The electrooxidation of ethylene glycol was studied using platinum–cadmium electrocatalysts supported on high surface area carbon Vulcan XC-72. This is the first instance of Cd being used as an electrocatalyst for glycol oxidation reaction. The catalysts were prepared with various Pt:Cd atomic ratios of 90:10, 80:20, and 70:30. All the catalysts prepared were synthesized by the alcohol reduction method with 20 wt.% metal on carbon. These materials were characterized morphologically by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and electrochemically by cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry. The electrochemical measurements were carried out at 25, 35, 45, and 55 °C, and the products of the electrochemical reaction were monitored by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The XRD patterns of all the PtCd catalysts presented cubic face-centered structures, and TEM revealed a homogeneous particle distribution on the carbon support with low agglomeration. The average particle size was assumed to be the maximum of the Gaussian distribution curve of particle size, at close to 2.5 nm. The presence of Cd results in an improvement in the glycol oxidation reaction, as observed by cyclic voltammetry; linear sweep voltammetry shows a lower onset potential compared to that of pure platinum. At a constant potential of 0.50 V (vs. RHE) at ambient temperature, HPLC showed glycolaldehyde to be the main byproduct formed from ethylene glycol oxidation at potential constant of 0.50 V.  相似文献

This paper re-assesses three independently developed approaches that are aimed at solving the problem of zero-weights or non-zero slacks in Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). The methods are weights restricted, non-radial and extended facet DEA models. Weights restricted DEA models are dual to envelopment DEA models with restrictions on the dual variables (DEA weights) aimed at avoiding zero values for those weights; non-radial DEA models are envelopment models which avoid non-zero slacks in the input-output constraints. Finally, extended facet DEA models recognize that only projections on facets of full dimension correspond to well defined rates of substitution/transformation between all inputs/outputs which in turn correspond to non-zero weights in the multiplier version of the DEA model. We demonstrate how these methods are equivalent, not only in their aim but also in the solutions they yield. In addition, we show that the aforementioned methods modify the production frontier by extending existing facets or creating unobserved facets. Further we propose a new approach that uses weight restrictions to extend existing facets. This approach has some advantages in computational terms, because extended facet models normally make use of mixed integer programming models, which are computationally demanding.  相似文献

The synthesis of a number of 3-(alkylamino)-2-arylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-8-carboxylic acids via a facile route involving the reaction between 2-amino-3-pyridinecarboxylic acid, benzaldehyde derivatives, and isonitriles is reported. The phenolic compounds are the main phytochemical constituents of the bark of Trichilia catigua and are commonly used for medicinal purposes. An HPLC method for the simultaneous quantification of phenolic compounds (procyanidin B2 (PB2), epicatechin (EPC), chinchonains Ia, Ib, IIa, IIb, catechin, and chrologenic acid) in T. catigua extract was developed and validated. A suitable chromatographic system was selected, which uses a gradient elution with methanol/ACN (75:25), and water both with 0.05% TFA, as mobile phase, column Luna, 280 nm, and flow 0.4 mL/min. Validation of the analytical method was based on the parameters: linearity, precision, LODs and LOQs, accuracy, robustness, and stability. The method showed linearity for PB2 and EPC, in the range 10–120 μg/mL with good correlation coefficients (>0.996). For precision, the repeatability ranged from 1.89 to 3.23%, and the values for accuracy for PB2 and EPC were 95 and 89%, respectively. The LODs and LOQs for PB2 were 1.36 and 4.12 μg/mL, and for EPC were 2.18 and 6.61 μg/mL, respectively. The method was robust under the conditions employed. The proposed method could be employed for quality assessment of T. catigua, as well as pharmaceutical products.  相似文献

We report the results of detailed experimental and theoretical studies on the molecular structure and vibrational spectra of metal(II) halide complexes of 1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)propane [M(N2C13H14)X2, where M represents Zn or Hg, and X represents Cl, Br, or I]. The FT–infrared spectra (FT-IR) and FT-Raman spectra of the metal complexes of the 1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)propane molecule in the powder form were recorded between the 400–4000 and 5–3500 cm?1 regions, respectively. The molecular geometry and vibrational frequencies of the metal complexes of 1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)propane in the ground state were calculated using density functional theory (B3LYP functional) with LANL2DZ and SDD as basis sets. The total energy distributions (TED) among the symmetry coordinates of the normal modes were computed for the low-energy structure of the molecules. Complete vibrational assignments based on the calculated TED values are given.  相似文献
