In past decades, researches on radiation‐induced bystander effect mainly focused on ionizing radiation such as α‐particle, β‐particle, X‐ray and γ‐ray. But few researches have been conducted on the ability of ultraviolet (UV) radiation‐induced bystander effect, and knowledge of UVC‐induced bystander effect is far limited. Here, we adopted medium transfer experiment to detect whether UVC could cause bystander effect in Chinese hamster V79 cells. We determined the cell viability, apoptosis rate, chromosome aberration and ultrastructure changes, respectively. Our results showed that: (1) the viability of UVC‐irradiated V79 cells declined significantly with the dosage of UVC; (2) similar to the irradiated cells, the main death type of bystander cells cultured in irradiation conditioned medium (ICMs) was also apoptosis; (3) soluble factors secreted by UVC‐irradiated cells could induce bystander effect in V79 cells; (4) cells treated with 4 h ICM collected from 90 mJ cm?2 UVC‐irradiated cells displayed the strongest response. Our data revealed that UVC could cause bystander effect through the medium soluble factors excreted from irradiated cells and this bystander effect was a novel quantitative and kinetic response. These findings might provide a foundation to further explore the exact soluble bystander factors and detailed mechanism underlying UVC‐induced bystander effect.  相似文献

Nanosheet AlOOH and silica spheres composite thin film was deposited onto glass by sol–gel dip-coating method through hydrolysis of boiling water immersion. A silica sol and an alumina sol are employed in dipping process for the preparation of hierarchical nanostructures thin film. The morphology and structure of the films were characterized using field emission scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. The super-hydrophobicity with high adhesion forces can be attributed to both the rough multi-scale structural coating and surface enrichment of low surface energy with the chemical vapor deposition of 1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluorodecyltriethoxysilane.  相似文献

Chemical biomarkers in the central nervous system can provide valuable quantitative measures to gain insight into the etiology and pathogenesis of neurological diseases. Glutamate, one of the most important excitatory neurotransmitters in the brain, has been found to be upregulated in various neurological disorders, such as traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer's disease, stroke, epilepsy, chronic pain, and migraines. However, quantitatively monitoring glutamate release in situ has been challenging. This work presents a novel class of flexible, miniaturized probes inspired by biofuel cells for monitoring synaptically released glutamate in the nervous system. The resulting sensors, with dimensions as low as 50 by 50 μm, can detect real-time changes in glutamate within the biologically relevant concentration range. Experiments exploiting the hippocampal circuit in mice models demonstrate the capability of the sensors in monitoring glutamate release via electrical stimulation using acute brain slices. These advances could aid in basic neuroscience studies and translational engineering, as the sensors provide a diagnostic tool for neurological disorders. Additionally, adapting the biofuel cell design to other neurotransmitters can potentially enable the detailed study of the effect of neurotransmitter dysregulation on neuronal cell signaling pathways and revolutionize neuroscience.  相似文献

Fundamental studies on miscibility and crystallization behavior of poly (ethylene terephthalate) (PET) and inorganic phosphate glass (Pglass) hybrids were conducted. The Flory–Huggins interaction parameter (χ) value of ?0.075 for the PET/Pglass hybrids was obtained using the Nishi–Wang equation, demonstrating that the Pglass and PET components were miscible in the melt state. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) showed the phase separation occurred during quenching from the melt. The phase boundaries between PET and Pglass were blurred, which indicated partial compatibility of the components in the solid state. Contact angle measurements indicated the interfacial tension of PET/Pglass hybrids was 1.5 mN/m, and the work of adhesion was 78.0 mN/m at 28 °C. Based on the Hoffman–Lauritzen theory, the nucleation constant (Kg) and fold surface free energy (σe) of PET/Pglass hybrids were less than those of neat PET.  相似文献

In this work, we reported a simple and sensitive sandwich-type electrochemiluminescence (ECL) immunosensor for carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) on a gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE). The Ru-silica (Ru(bpy)(3)(2+)-doped silica) capped nanoporous gold (NPG) (Ru-silica@NPG) composite was used as an excellent label with amplification techniques. The NPG was prepared with a simple dealloying strategy, by which silver was dissolved from silver/gold alloys in nitric acid. The primary antibody was immobilized on the AuNPs modified electrode through l-cysteine and glutaraldehyde, and then the antigen and the functionalized Ru-silica@NPG composite labeled secondary antibody were conjugated successively to form a sandwich-type immunocomplex through the specific interaction. The concentrations of CEA were obtained in the range from 1 pg mL(-1) to 10 ng mL(-1) with a detection limit of 0.8 pg mL(-1). The as-proposed ECL immunosensor has the advantages of high sensitivity, specificity and stability and could become a promising technique for tumor marker detection.  相似文献

Recent research on microfluidic paper‐based analytical devices (μPADs) has shown that paper has great potential for the fabrication of low‐cost diagnostic devices for healthcare and environmental monitoring applications. Herein, electrochemiluminescence (ECL) was introduced for the first time into μPADs that were based on screen‐printed paper‐electrodes. To further perform high‐specificity, high‐performance, and high‐sensitivity ECL on μPADs for point‐of‐care testing (POCT), ECL immunoassay capabilities were introduced into a wax‐patterned 3D paper‐based ECL device, which was characterized by SEM, contact‐angle measurement, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. With the aid of a home‐made device‐holder, the ECL reaction was triggered at room temperature. By using a typical tris(bipyridine)ruthenium–tri‐n‐propylamine ECL system, this paper‐based ECL 3D immunodevice was applied to the diagnosis of carcinoembryonic antigens in real clinical serum samples. This contribution further expands the number of sensitive and specific detection modes of μPADs.  相似文献

Mechanism of adhesion between polymer fibers at nanoscale contacts   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Adhesive force exists between polymer nano/microfibers. An elaborate experiment was performed to investigate the adhesion between polymer nano/microfibers using a nanoforce tensile tester. Electrospun polycaprolactone (PCL) fibers with diameters ranging from 0.4-2.2 μm were studied. The response of surface property of electrospun fiber to the environmental conditions was tracked by FTIR and atomic force microscopy (AFM) measurements. The effect of temperature on molecular orientation was examined by wide angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD). The adhesive force was found to increase with temperature and pull-off speed but insensitive to the change of relative humidity, and the abrupt increase of adhesion energy with temperature accompanied by a reduced molecular orientation in the amorphous part of fiber was observed. Results show that adhesion is mainly driven by van der Waals interactions between interdiffusion chain segments across the interface.  相似文献
