The convenient preparation of chiral tetrahydrothiophenes (THTs) in high enantiopurity via phosphorothioic acids and related compounds is reported. We consider these to be safer alternatives to the use of H(2)S which is a highly toxic gas. Each of the THTs is derived from a common intermediate, thereby greatly enhancing the flexibility of the synthesis. The key transformation is a base-promoted, intramolecular, carbon-sulfur bond-forming event. These reactions are highly stereospecific as they operate through a double S(N)2 displacement mechanism. The methodology is amenable to a broad array of functional groups and heterocycles. The tetrahydrothiophene motif is important because it is present in a number of bioactive natural products. They have also been utilized to promote various asymmetric transformations including hydrogenation, epoxidation, cyclopropanation, and aziridination reactions.  相似文献

A novel technique for anionic surfactant assisted separation and preconcentration of metal cations was developed using ultrasound induced nebulization at MHz frequency. The ions of copper, zinc, cadmium, and calcium were used as model analytes. Analysis of the aerosol using flame atomic absorption spectrometry showed enrichment factors for the metal ions studied between 5 and 8, when dilute solutions containing sodium dodecylsulfate and the metal ions were nebulized. The mechanism of metal ion enrichment was explained based on surfactant adsorption and the droplet model for aerosol droplets. It was demonstrated that further increase in the enrichment factor could be achieved by increasing the ultrasound frequency, thus producing smaller droplets.  相似文献

Chemical investigation of the cultured cyanobacterium Fischerella sp. (SAG strain number 46.79) led to the isolation of four nitrile-containing indole alkaloids, namely 12-epi-fischerindole I nitrile (1), deschloro 12-epi-fischerindole I nitrile (2), 12-epi-fischerindole W nitrile (3), and deschloro 12-epi-fischerindole W nitrile (4) along with a known metabolite hapalosin. The structures were determined by detailed spectroscopic analyses on the basis of 1D and 2D NMR and HRESIMS data. All isolates were evaluated for cytotoxicity against human cancer cells and for 20S proteasome inhibition. Deschloro 12-epi-fischerindole I nitrile (2) was found to be weakly cytotoxic against HT-29 cells with an ED(50) value of 23 μM. Hapalosin showed weak cytotoxicity against HT-29 and MCF-7 cells with ED(50) values of 22 and 27 μM, respectively, as well as moderate 20S proteasome inhibition with an IC(50) value of 12 μM. Compounds 1-4 all contain a nitrile moiety instead of the isonitrile found in all fischerindoles reported to date. Compounds 3 and 4 also display a new carbon skeleton, in which a six-membered ring replaces the five-membered ring normally found in fischerindole-type alkaloids.  相似文献

The disruption of the human immunolobulin E-high affinity receptor I (IgE-FcεRI) protein-protein interaction (PPI) is a validated strategy for the development of anti asthma therapeutics. Here, we describe the synthesis of an array of conformationally constrained cyclic peptides based on an epitope of the A-B loop within the Cε3 domain of IgE. The peptides contain various tolan (i.e., 1,2-biarylethyne) amino acids and their fully and partially hydrogenated congeners as conformational constraints. Modest antagonist activity (IC(50) ~660 μM) is displayed by the peptide containing a 2,2'-tolan, which is the one predicted by molecular modeling to best mimic the conformation of the native A-B loop epitope in IgE.  相似文献

The anionic polymerization of PPV via the sulfinyl precursor route is further investigated. When LHMDS is employed as the base to form the actively propagating quinodimethane system and THF as the solvent, anionic polymerizations can be observed. With the use of tert‐ butyl‐substituted anionic initiators, specific functional groups can be built in the polymer chain and the chain length can be efficiently controlled, which is demonstrated here for the first time. With introduction of branched side chains on the aromatic core, soluble conjugated PPV material can be obtained with molecular weights in the range of 5000–16 000 g mol−1.  相似文献

The ionic partition diagram methodology has been generalized to address both hydrophilic and lipophilic compounds and to consider biphasic systems with variable phase volume ratios. With this generalized approach electrochemical measurements of ion transfer potentials afford the determination of the standard partition coefficients of all forms of ionizable molecules, including the neutral form, as well as the evaluation of the dissociation constant of monoprotic substances. An interesting consequence of this approach is the definition of an extraction pK(a,ext) which is the apparent pK(a) of neutral acids and bases when dissolved in the organic phase.  相似文献

Ion-irradiation induced surface stress generation and the resulting deflection of 2D cantilever graphene films is studied using molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. The simulation results show that the free-end deflection is strongly dependent on the kinetic energy of the incident ions. At low incident energies (?10 eV), the graphene film bends towards the irradiated side (upward deflection in our simulations); a transition from bending towards the irradiated side (upward deflection) to bending away from the irradiated side (downward deflection) occurs when the incident energy is ~10 eV; the downward deflection peaks at ~50 eV. Further increases of the incident energy cause the magnitude of downward deflection to decrease. The evolution of free-end deflection with respect to the number of incidences is also dependent on the incident energy. The dependence of the deflection behavior of the graphene films on the incident energy revealed by our atomistic simulations suggests the generation of intrinsic stress of different levels in the growing films. Such behavior may be attributed to competing mechanisms of production and annihilation of interstitial- and vacancy-like defects in the growing film. Understanding the dependence of thin film deflection on the incident energy provides guidelines for controlling thin film shapes at the nanometer scale using ion-beam machining.  相似文献

We study the Yamabe invariant of manifolds which admit metrics of positive scalar curvature. Analysing `best Sobolev constants'we give a technique to find positive lower bounds for the invariant.We apply these ideas to show that for any compact Riemannian manifold (N n ,g) of positive scalarcurvature there is a positive constant K =K(N, g), which depends only on (N, g), such that for any compact manifold M m , the Yamabe invariantof M m × N n is no less than K times the invariant ofS n + m . A simple method for determining lead in fine particulates (PM2.5) by using electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS) has been developed. Particulates collected on Nuclepore filter by using a dichotomous sampler were suspended in diluted nitric acid after ultrasonic agitation. The dislodging efficiency is nearly 100% after agitation for 5 min. In order to study the suspension behavior of PM2.5 in solvents, a Brookhaven ZetaPlus Particle Size Analyzer was used to determine the particle size distribution and suspension behavior of air particulates in the solvent. The pre-digestion and modification effect of nitric acid would be discussed. Palladium was added as a chemical modifier and the temperature program of ETAAS was changed in order to improve the recovery. The slurry was introduced directly into a graphite tube for atomization. The metal content in the sample was determined by the standard addition method. In addition, a conventional acid digestion procedure was applied to verify the efficiency of the slurry sampling method.
